Staff, Rooms & food quality
The service and room, the advice to have a relaxed diner at a near by pub
First impressions of any hotel is the reception, the man on duty showed very little interest and when we ordered a taxi to take us to Lenham, it was not until the driver arrived and we asked for a card so we can book him for our return journey, the driver informed us that he had already told the receptionist he was not available and as this was a small village, he did not know anyone who could help us.... We asked the receptionist why we were not informed earlier and he responding by telling us he did not know if were coming back....where else would we go, when we had just booked in for 3 days....
Venue was lovely, breakfast was plentiful and very well cooked. Breakfast manager was very attentive, so was the Housekeeping manager- Debbie and maintenance man -Hayden, were very helpful
They could have offered a free upgrade on the room , the hotel was almost empty on some days .We have also used Hand picked hotels before and have been upgraded at no extra charge Seem to be focused on business market no information on local walks ,we just explored ourselves . Dinner not wow factor, scallops under cooked.
Think staff wher outstanding ,their device was very good . Breakfast was outstanding good choice and great service
The hotel was holding a wedding open day and so until about 4pm there was a lot of foot traffic.
4 of us had booked in for a night to celebrate my birthday. We booked the cream tea, an evening meal in a private room and an overnight stay. We had not told the hotel is was a birthday celebration. When serving the cream tea the server noticed me getting a present and card, and shortly afterwards came back with a small plate of cakes with a piped happy birthday message. This was totally down to the hotel and was a nice touch. The evening meal was very good, and the 'Blue Room' proved to be very cosy and the waiter was excellent with just the right mix of leaving us alone and asking if we needed anything. On retuning to my room, again the Hotel had made that extra effort, with a birthday card from the staff and Happy Birthday balloon. These little touches made us all feel very special.
DIRECTIONS TO FIND HOTEL
POSITION AND OVERALL RELAXING + GOOD SERVICE
Geared up to Weddings. No proper bar area. Chilly. Expensive. Bathroom in need of refurbishment at this price. Expensive menu.
Friendly and helpful staff. Dining acceptable.
The food was fantastic and great service. would come back again when we go to france or if in business in Kent
We booked a superior room in the mews expecting a large room but it was small and with restricted ceiling height. No dressing table and the mirror for my wife to do her make-up was on the floor behind the door! Very tatty bathroom in need or refurbishment. Restaurant pricy with dinner at around £75.00 per head plus wine and the food was good but not exceptional. Service was terribly slow and meals did not come at the same time so one had to wait and risk cold food. Waiting staff very good but let down by the kitchen. Apparently the head chef has been at the hotel for 12 years and maybe its time for a change!
Very comfortable Super King size bed. Very pleasant staff. Nice old fashioned style hotel in lovely grounds.
Blood on loft hatch, very off putting. My husband expierence a few flea bite on his legs. There was dust on top of tiles in bathroom.
Couldn't fought the staff! Very welcoming, friendly and no request was too much to ask for. Breakfast was out of this world, absolutely amazing!
staff first class nothing to much trouble surroundings beautiful very relaxing nice food
'Cannot always go on looks' Our room was at the back with wonderful view of tank and bin store. Room was way too small for the four poster bed which made it feel very claustrophobic. Bathroom very 'tired' and in need of renovation. Reception area has been upgraded and check In/out process was excellent. Restaurant and bar service was poor and food, when it arrived, mediocre. Breakfast however, was good. Our one night stay in general was average at best and very overpriced !!
Impressive looking from the outside and very nice location.
The mews rooms. Functional but nothing special. Attention to detail was lacking by cleaning staff. (look behind the bathroom doors) tile grouting etc. The breakfast was adequate, but what has happened to the local bacon and sausages. Quality of food has certainly gone down!
I love the setting of Chilston park. My family have been on serveral occasions in the past. A wedding, 18th and 80th birthday. A lovely venue. The main hotel bedrooms are very individual and a pleasure to stay in.
There was nothing to dislike
Everything, it was romantic, beautiful, food excellent. Staff helpfully. Room was wonderful,Spent the morning in the beautiful grounds the flowers and hand made chocolates that were organised by the hotel from us were also beautiful. They want to go back for their first anniversary.
bathroom a bit dated and tired looking
country house feel
A little over priced
Quality very good
quality of the food after dining there which was excellent the cooked breakfast was appaling
It was on time staff service was excellent
Food was ok, but not excellent
Good stopover location Very nice atmosphere Beautyfull rooms Friendly stuff
A lot of traffic noise as the hotel is close to the road.
Nice grounds and helpful staff.
Restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful. The food was average at best and when a complaint was made nothing was done about it. For the price go and stay some where 5star with at least a pool
Had a great time here with my family. Especially staff were very friendly.
Breakfast was was dissapointing, took to long, was cold etc. To much noise at night other guests hanging out of windows shouting, staff banging around in the morning. The bar is far to small to cope with a lot of guests.
Yor staff are excellent
- bed was on the small side
- hotel itself is lovely - will come back!
