Chilston Park Country House Hotel  

This hotel is overpriced for what it is. Stayed in an excecutive room that had basic bathroom. The shower was always cold, when telling staff about it they didn't care! The room was not cleaned properly and breakfast was burnt and cheap. This hotel was probably once very nice but, has become a profit making business with no customer care or satisfaction in mind!

Location

Waiting until 9.15 for a table we pre booked for 8.30, then not receiving our main course until 10.15pm. Sat dwon for breakfast at 9.45am, didnt receive it until 10.40am. Shocking service

The grandeur, though I stayed in the cottage so didn't get to see that carried through as it was separate from the mansion

as the location and hotel was very good, we had a terrible night sleep due to a very old mattress, i did state my concerns to reception who were going to inform the cleaning staff to be honest i dont think the mattress will change

The staff were excellent - very friendly and efficient. The grounds were beautiful. We ate breakfast there on two mornings and it was good.

Chilston Park is one of those places which looks very impressive as you pull up in the car but once you get to your room it is very disappointing. (Obviously I can only comment on the rooms we stayed in, maybe we were unlucky). The public rooms, for example the dining room where we ate breakfast, are splendid, but the rooms (of which we saw two as we had to be moved) are in need of some tlc.

The restaurant and lounges of this hotel are beautiful. The hotel is surrounded by a lovely garden. The breakfast was good.

The hotel is situated right next to the m20 so that you can hear the cars driving past when you are sitting in the beautiful garden. The furniture in our room was quite old and a bit shabby. The service in the restaurant was incredibly slow. On the weekend we had to wait up to 45 minutes to be served some tea and toast.

The staff were very welcoming, polite, friendly & helpful. The food was fantastic, a real treat. The huge grounds were great to walk around and there were places to visit nearby by car, Leeds Castle & Canterbury Cathedral to mention a couple of places.

lovely place to stay, booked the executive room, on arrival was told got a free upgrade to a junior suite, it was fantastic for a romantic weekend away.

Ansprechendes Exterieur, gepflegte Aussenanlagen, ausreichend Parkplätze, aufgrund der Abseitslage kein Strassenlärm

Es hat sich sicher jemand viel Mühe gemacht, die Zimmer individuell einzurichten, alles in allem jedoch ist das Hotel vernachlässigt, die Sessel und Sofas in der Lounge und im Barbereich müssen dringend einmal shampooniert werden. Türen, Bilder, Wanddekos und Fussböden müssen dringend abgewaschen werden. Das Frühstücksangebot liess Wünsche offen. Das Bad im Zimmer war zu eng, es fehlten Ablageflächen und Haken, die Beleuchtung war nicht ausreichend. Die Hälfte des winzig kleinen Einbauschanks war gefüllt mit Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen, Safe, Decken und Kissen.
