I really enjoyed my stay. What I liked: The ease of the entire process - from the initial online booking, to the provision of the room code by text 30 mins prior to check in, to the clear checkout instructions at the end. A clean, well presented functional room with a selection of tea or coffee, a comfortable bed, and an en-suite bathroom. There are several places to park within walking distance - I chose to use the pay4bay parking on Bridge Road but for a slightly further walk up Commodore Road itself, there were free parking spaces (about 3-5 mins walk).

Lowestoft is a busy working port.
Lowestoft is a busy working port. It has stunning beaches with golden sands.
We have family who chose to live there so we are lucky enough to visit them often.
We are wildlife lovers so there are so many places to visit a ride away like Minsmere and Carlton Marshes and the Norfolk coast.
The trip boat for Oulton Broad goes from right outside the Wherry Hotel and smaller boats can be hired.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town.
Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town. A beautiful beach south of the town, great for bathing, games and walks, and a beach north of the town that is more scenic but inaccessible due to the tides and ruined old sea wall. Loads of local attractions to visit including Africa Alive, the Transport museum, Sparrows Nest Park, Oulton Broad and Claremont Pier. Some great restaurants to eat at, but especially Sgt Peppers on the High Street. And being the most easterly place in the UK, make sure you get up early to see the sun rise. Spectacular on a clear morning!

Interesting seaside town.
Interesting seaside town. South Beach was perfect plenty of places to eat. The town centre altho big seemed a bit tired but the beach and front area had a buzz about it. The port side of it made it interesting too
We often visit Lowestoft and stay in a purple palace but notice there prices had started to creep up, so we went on a search for a great value for money hotel and we certainly found it !! The team are so very friendly and want to make sure you have a great stay, the rooms are very comfortable with everything you could need and more and breakfast was included. The ingredients we good the eggs we bright orange which shows they are fresh and everything was very tasty. I would highly recommend and we will certainly be booking again
This is a very friendly relaxing beautiful old hotel. We were made to feel welcome with our 2 dogs by staff who all seem to take pride in the hotel which is kept to a high standard of cleaning throughout . This hotel is run by great organizational skills of the lady that manages it. We had an exceptional meal in the evening followed by a full english breakfast in the morning cooked by someone who knows what they,re doing. We shall be making this hotel our regular stay when visiting family in Lowestoft.
It's the second time that we e visited this hotel, this year. We can park the car up and use the local buses which run on a good service. The staff are very friendly and try to accommodate all your needs. The room is very clean, a little small but well thought out for your needs. The breakfast was amazing and the choices really good. We had an evening meal there and it was lovely. The location is a good place to stop if you want to visit other parts of Norfolk and Suffolk too.
The location was amazing, right in front of the seafront. Caroline was so lovely, couldn't do enough for us and even had hot water bottles on offer...which I gladly took! The hotel felt really welcoming and friendly, it was like visiting family! Thanks to Andy who did us a lovely breakfast! We will definitely be coming back again and can't wait for our next visit, it's a lovely location with loads to do. Can't recommend enough! Thanks both!
The bed and the breakfast were outstanding. Mark and Derek were fabulous hosts, always ready with some advice and help and so very friendly. The house is so tastefully decorated, a truly beautiful example of Victorian Lowestoft, so much so that I would buy it if I had a chance. The beds and pillows were so comfy, something really important to us, and the breakfast I can honestly say was the best I'd ever had in a hotel or B&B.
I had stayed before when the current owners first took over, and stayed in the same room overlooking the sea. Everything I needed was close at hand, an early breakfast so I could go to my cycling event. Hopefully next time I will be able to bring my wife who can enjoy the seafront close by. Facilities are clean and breakfast has variety for those who want cooked breakfasts or something lighter.
The hotel is located on a clifftop over the South Beach. This is an excellent part of Lowestoft with 19th century terraced facades, like say Cheltenham. The hotel has been extensively modernized. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room had a wonderful sea view. We dined mostly in the hotel and were very satisfied. Breakfast was surprisingly elaborate. There is a lift.
I read a number of reviews on Trust Pilot that were negative about the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and I must say ALL the staff we engaged with were extremely polite, friendly and efficient. As for the hotel it was very clean, well positioned and had ample parking. It will be our 1st choice hotel when visiting friends in Lowestoft.
Breakfasts were very good, and catered for my allergy requirements. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice glimpse of the sea. I would say that the hotel is located in the the nicer part of Lowestoft (and the beach is beautiful sand). The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
View from the bedroom ... beach, sea and pier !! What a winner! Very attentive and friendly staff with a yummy breakie to boot :-) Definitely recommend this as a base for exploring the area.
A family run hotel in a lovely setting. A perfect quiet location, but with an advantage of easy access to explore the surrounding area.
First class service from The Great Staff members .
Staff very friendly, efficient and helpful. View of seafront was perfect. Bed, room and facilities were amazing. Free late checkout was very good and helped us relax before leaving.
Just spent 2 nights at the Hatfield Hotel. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Our room was very clean.
Great location overlooking the beach. We will certainly visit again
The breakfast and the cleanliness of the hotel also the courteous staff. Made our stay very pleasant. We would have no reservation with respect to staying there again.
