Good place to stay overnight on pick up or drop off of students
Whole place feels that it could do with some updates in decour and facilities
The hotel is a excellent base for touring around the North East. Pleasant and polite staff throughout. Great hotel. Good food and drink
Be good yo offer buffet breakfast as you were limited to what was on the menu and better wifi as the signal was poor
Staff very friendly and helpful. Food good, nice location, plenty of parking. Room large and a lovely hot bath.
Clean comfy room. Friendly welcoming staff. Good location near Durham. Quiet location.
Staff helpful and pleasant. Breakfast great.
Distance from town
Good breakfast, very roomy, the room had good facilities. Large car park and very friendly staff
A little dated in need of modernisation. WiFi very slow, no earl grey tea in the building!
Food excellent Bed really comfortable
No Remote control available for Room 3 TV
Friendly staff, good food,
I booked three rooms for my wife and I, our son and daughter in law and our daughter to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. Rooms were excellent with everything you could wish for. Evening meal was well worth all the effort of getting the family together. Meal covered all requirements and proved to be excellent value for money. Meals well cooked and excellently presented. Bar prices better than average
Poor reception staff. Young lady more interested in carrying on a conversation rather than seeing to the arrival of guests. Same young lady on early afternoon bar with the same problem. One and only poort impression.
The meals were excellent
The late night noise from evening functions we endured for two of the three nights that we stayed.
This was a lovely hotel, the staff were really friendly, the food in the bar was excellent and it was close to Durham and Sunderland so if you were going in to Durham for the University it would cost you £11 by Taxi. It is in the country side so was very quiet and the drinks in the bar were very reasonable in price.
There was not anything I can think of except the water pressure for the shower in the room was rubbish so had trouble getting a constant heat the water was trickling out but the bath was fine, apart from that a great hotel.
Value for money Food Quiet location Staff, friendly, helpful, smiling
Bit lacking on the wifi Bedrooms a bit basic, tired.
Gardens and outside area
Good location, friendly staff
Great staff excellent food and very large rooms, very friendly people who go out of there way to make sure you have a pleasant stay.
Nothing everything was great!!!
Good size of rooms. Big car park. Excellent food. Helpful Staff.
Noisy Disco (but it was after a wedding reception and finished by midnight). It was a little difficult to find, glad I had a satnav.
Friendly staff, great value pub for tasty meals and drinks, good location for getting to the Park and Ride for Durham.
The rooms were not above the function room.
we were offered an executive double room for the price of a standard room. It was fabulous with everything you could possibly need for an overnight stay.
Water temperature in the wash basin and shower scalding! Would have been a bit worried if we had young children with us.
Staff, parking, food and value for money all very good
Being kept awake by resident above apparently on a route march. Bathroom was very small and had a leaking shower hose
hotel was very good
should have a shower safety mat as I am a bit unstable on legs kept slipping in shower. Toilet seet wants to be attended to.
Ast. Manager & Staff very friendly and good service. Hotel provided good value for money and met our requirements for visit to area.
Very noisy. A wedding on, couple in next room argued until early hours of morning with a lot of swearing. Could hear guests in room above walking about, talking and using the toilet!
Big spacious room. Attached pub serves good food
Towels in the room on the first day were grubby (Were replaced the next day)
Staff very good. Food very good. Beer very good. Quiet country location. Very big room (No 9) and very well decorated and comfortable. This hotel could so nearly achieved 9 or 10 out of ten for my requirements. Will definitely stay again.
Noise insulation from the room adjacent and the room above meant that I was woken 20 mins before my alarm mainly from the person above walking around their room. This would not stop me staying again but a light sleeper may have more of a problem. Otherwise an superb venue.
All staff helpful & courteous.
