Good venue providing what is needed & wanted
Location for training venue
Value - Overpriced bar menu for food. A colleague ordered the Fish Pie,for the money an insult. 2 or 3 leaves and nothing else as an accompaniment. VERY POOR Room 311 heating - wall mounted electric - its 2014 not 1904! Signage and access to SPA, cold wet night, no obvious signage from hotel had to ask reception and then trek through the rain.
Location Easy parking
Bar staff were very helpful but receptionist when I checked in was not very friendly.
Staff friendly. Smooth Check-in.
A wedding party continued into the very early hours in the room(s) above us which didn't end until after 4am.
Having a dinner and staying at the same hotel with no travelling.
Location is the best thing about this place

Decent room and bathroom Good dinner Pleasant pool Friendly staff
Bar area was tired, drafty and badly lit Some other areas a little tired
Location, setting, grounds, building, parking, bed room, pool complex, food and breakfast
fire doors that don't close (one of the non powered doors on the ground floor entrance to the bed room block.
Breakfast choice is excellent
Dinner variety limited, small portions and fairly expensive
Facilities are great. Nice place to relax. Bar lovely, breakfast very nice.
good breakfast layout ,Plenty of choice, helpful. Staff, Unlike some best western hotels we've stayed at,No step or stairs to navigate ,Great for people with mobility problems,
Evening meal was quite good ,however quite expensive when considering quanity
the helpfulness and friendliness of staff
Our room was in an older part of the Manor which did not have an elevator..this made it difficult to take suitcases up stairs...thankfully 2 staff members helped. This fact should be part of their ad/listing
Excellent dinner and menu. Sensible prices for wine
I felt every spring in my mattress. However my husband had no problems with his matress
Staff very friendly. Beautiful location.
Bed too springy and digging into my hip.

Location and style
Staff ... Awkward Charged twice for rooms Only got reward points for one room Parking a long way from reception (outside spaces gone and overflow area poorly lit and not safe for a female at night
The location was perfectly suited for our purposes of visiting family and friends in the Southampton area. The grounds and building have great history and potential. Our 5 night stay included a weekend during which several social functions were scheduled in the common rooms, we appreciated that the staff assigned us a room which was as far distant from the common areas as we could get and therefore we were not disturbed by the social events taking place. We also very much appreciated the staff taking the initiative to track us down and advise us that we may have left the headlights on on our vehicle saving us the trouble of a discovering a dead battery in the morning.
The rooms, although clean could benefit from updating and the hotel common areas had the air of shabby chic. paint peeling, upholstery worn, garden not well maintained. It must have been great in its day. Parking was also an issue, as we often returned later in the evening, and found parking hard to find, because of large numbers of people attending social functions at the hotel, but not staying at the hotel. Perhaps an assigned parking area close to the hotel for registered guests only could solve this issue.
The staff were very friendly and room clean and tidy
Went here for friends wedding and noticed the decor needs updating as a little tatty in places like a huge damp spot on Celine
Great ambiance and friendly staff. Health club very good and whole site is spectacular. Very good value for money. Old-world charm run as an efficient and high-quality modern hotel. I would gladly return.
Room service food cool and a bit disappointing. Remote location, although very peaceful and beautiful, limits walking-distance options, should you want to go out.
