Location Near enough yet away ffrom the city bustle 1. No computer for public use. 2. Unable to obtain cash from the reception to pay taxi on last day. Receptionist told me that the driver would be able to accept my credit card. This was bad advice since they would not and do not have facilities for this service. 3. Bath room extractor was not working in room 234

Location and public rooms. Despite having a menu indicating which items were suitable for food allergy sufferers, the hotel does not have supplies of gluten free bread or pastries and does not even have soya milk.

The staff- they were very helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautiful- a lovely place to walk. Good location - easy to get to walking areas. We ate there three times, but the meals were cold each time. The spa was not open as advertised-it was the main reason that we chose the hotel so it was very disappointing to find it closed earlier. Our room was not cleaned on one occasion and we were without water (both hot and cold) for one day- this was the last straw and we left early to go elsewhere.

A luxury hotel without the luxury price. Excellent facilities and the staff are very helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much, although the breakfast was very expensive. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel was in a beautiful setting, well kept grounds and clean room. Your receptionist was particularly helpful and welcoming. After 8hrs of travelling during the course of the day and 4hrs of paperwork to complete that evening I chose to have room service, I requested 2x beef sandwiches with horseradish, it wasn't until some time later did I get a call from the staff stating that beef was not available no alternative was offered even when I asked. After some time hunger drove me to make a call to your very helpful receptionist she made enquiries to see what alternatives were available and offered ham, turkey, chicken. I chose ham and eventually it arrived, needless to say when I received my bill in the morning I was disgusted with the cost of £16.00 given the lack of service and choice. I have stayed at many Best Western Hotels during my profession, and if it wasn't for your very helpful receptionist I would never stay at a B.W.Hotel again. I trust now this has been bought to your attention you will address it with a goodwill gesture.

Proximity to road network and the Southampton University Science Park The pillows were far far far too hard and severely impacted my sleep. Hotel needs to get duck down & feather options for guests.

Location and Grounds fantastic, rooms and staff ok. When we stayed there was a large chritmas party going on, there were not enough staff looking after regular guests plus the parties. Therefore service was slow, food poor.

Very pleasant, friendly staff and lovely grounds. We were actually attending a family funeral and the reception afterwards was also held at your hotel. That, incidentally, was also very good with excellent food suitable for such an occasion and the numbers involved. One mildly negative comment - the twin room we had was on the small side and as the hotel was not full at all on that Sunday night, maybe we could have been allocated one of the bigger twin rooms. Ours was on the ground floor, a long way from reception, and I didn't have the energy to trail all the way back to reception, with luggage, to ask for a better room, having driven 7.5 hours from Brussels to get there!

This is an old manor adapted to be a very good hotel. Stunnished lounge and nice room, a very nice park (close to be a wood) surrounds the hotel. Breakfast not included and too much expensive for what offered. If you wants to go elsewhere than the companies located close to the hotel, it is much better to have a car.

Good service and reception hall a good place to meet up . The room was a bit cold for me, probably good for the environment. Health club in a separate building was off-putting for a swim.

All above comments. Staff friendly. Pleasant location.High class rooms. Breakfast used to be included but now incurs cost of £11. As I only have toast and coffee a bit expensive. The food was poor, you must have a new chef. The menu was too fussy. The dessert ...pineapple with meringue with black pepper and ice cream was poor. Placed on an oversize plate. The pinapple was cut so thin it was tastles. The icecream and meringues were microscopic. There was no room in dining room so we had it in bar, NO BAR MENU ANYMORE!!? SUCH A SHAME THESE CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE WE WILL NOT BE STAYING AGAIN.

Clean, Quiet, Relaxing, Good Service, Excellent Setting. All in all, a great get away for the weekend with my wife. Excellent Bar/Restaurant just down the road too. Shower only just warm, and breakfast was very expensive. Other than that nothing at all to moan about.

Beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable room however what was most notable was the excellent level of customer service. I have a vision impairment and staff were considerate and most helpful when checking in and offered assistance such as guidance to my room and a large print menu. Nothing in partucular: not the best value.

The situation is ideal for Winchester and Southampton. The grounds are excellent for a brisk walk and although we did not use the other facilites available, thought that they were very good and should we visit again might make more use of them in the future. We had great difficulty in parking, and had to leave the car some distance from the hotel which mean't carrying all our luggage etc, which although it was only a one night stay we always have lots to carry. When booking in we were asked if we needed help with our luggage, but felt it was more a courtesy offer and we felt obliged to do it ourselves. We also found it rather difficult to find the lift and although we asked directions at the bar, it seemed someway to walk, as there was no directions. The Lift itself could be rather "fierce" in as much as closing very quickly while in the proceeds of going out, i was caught twice while exiting the lift. These comments are not complaints merely something to be aware of which may be a help to improve your otherwise very comfortable Hotel.

“My partner had stayed at the hotel last year and really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, especially Paul on the reception desk, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the excellent breakfast and a very relaxed atmosphere. Close to all amenities and good restaurants for the evening. We were visiting family this year and will definitely be booking for next year probably March. Thank you for making our stay with you so memorable.” Linda, Mariou Crete |
