The Hilton Southampton is in peaceful wooded gardens near the M3 and M27 highways. It has its own swimming pool, health club and restaurant for guests to dine in.

All of it very nice
No sky tv
Nice friendly staff Although pricey the food was excellent
Really hard bed, no give at all Dated bathroom felt unclean although had been cleaned
Location and style
Staff ... Awkward Charged twice for rooms Only got reward points for one room Parking a long way from reception (outside spaces gone and overflow area poorly lit and not safe for a female at night
The location was perfectly suited for our purposes of visiting family and friends in the Southampton area. The grounds and building have great history and potential. Our 5 night stay included a weekend during which several social functions were scheduled in the common rooms, we appreciated that the staff assigned us a room which was as far distant from the common areas as we could get and therefore we were not disturbed by the social events taking place. We also very much appreciated the staff taking the initiative to track us down and advise us that we may have left the headlights on on our vehicle saving us the trouble of a discovering a dead battery in the morning.
The rooms, although clean could benefit from updating and the hotel common areas had the air of shabby chic. paint peeling, upholstery worn, garden not well maintained. It must have been great in its day. Parking was also an issue, as we often returned later in the evening, and found parking hard to find, because of large numbers of people attending social functions at the hotel, but not staying at the hotel. Perhaps an assigned parking area close to the hotel for registered guests only could solve this issue.
The staff were very friendly and room clean and tidy
Went here for friends wedding and noticed the decor needs updating as a little tatty in places like a huge damp spot on Celine
Great ambiance and friendly staff. Health club very good and whole site is spectacular. Very good value for money. Old-world charm run as an efficient and high-quality modern hotel. I would gladly return.
Room service food cool and a bit disappointing. Remote location, although very peaceful and beautiful, limits walking-distance options, should you want to go out.
The grounds of this hotel were beautiful, the hotel is modern in the communal areas whilst retaining the old features of the stately home. The room size and bathroom size were excellent. The on site swimming pool whilst a small walk away was simply lovely.
The bed was too soft and the pillow were like tissue, I like my head to be raised when I sleep and the bed and pillows offered no support. The bathroom was dated, the tiles showed signs of mildew and the shower hose which stayed in the bath when fill had limescale caked on it. Our room rate included breakfast but upon arriving at the breakfast room we were told it didn't and questioned about this, it was rectified by Reception but left a bitter taste in our mouths.
A great old manor, only 10 minutes by taxi from Southampton Airport, so very convenient. Spa facility, although across the street, was excellent. Walked about 1km to a lovely neighbourhood pub which also has excellent food. Excellent value in a quiet secluded location with parklike setting. Claudio does a fine job in the restaurant! Lamb was fantastic.
Elevator doors close too quickly, now time to get your bags or your wife in on time!!
Lovely historic manor, in spacious grounds, near M27 and M3. Rooms are good, comfortable and quiet. Traditional wood panelled lounge and bar. Great outdoor areas and grounds. Very pretty place. Have stayed here three times and has always been an enjoyable stay.
There are always events going on here in the evenings, which can cause noise in certain areas of the hotel.
Staff are always helpful. The leisure facilities are excellent.Do eat in the restaurant - super food and service.
Rooms a little bit dated but all clean.
We regularly stay at Chilworth Manor, close to my son's home and really look forward to it. Love the leisure centre facilities, the grounds, and the breakfast and dinner. We are going back for two nights at Christmas.
Only being able to stay for one night! :-(
Staff were generally excellent. Food was good.
Bedroom was a huge disappointment, shabby, overlooking rubbish bins, curtains hanging down and stained linen. Very poor .
The setting of the hotel is fantastic with plenty of walks.
The bed was a bit soft. The food/drinks were a bit over priced.
Setting was great, lovely grounds etc.
Restaurant is overpriced and every trick in the book on extras is employed. £14 for an everyday breakfast. A "Rack of Lamb" at £18 consists of TWO lamb chops, potatoes/veg are extra, bread roll is extra, water is extra. Not good value at all!
Long way to room
Location, grounds, architecture and breakfast. Staff friendly and polite, and altered a booking mistake I had made which I am very grateful for.
Room 202, strange aroma possibly ex smoking room. Laundry room and storage area for the linen baskets directly outside the window. Lorry arrived to collect them at around 06:00 very noisy, metal cages being rattled down a path then into a truck, akin to rolling thunder
Loved the park land surrounding the building. It was obviously a popular venue for weddings and also parties which we were attending. Liked our room which was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet despite all the activities going on during our 3 day stay in the hotel/ The Reception staff were excellent and helpful. The evening bar snacks were very good and the bar staff also pleasant and helpful
We were at a midday Golden Wedding Party ( our reason for staying in the hotel) and the room was very pleasant and well set out. Unfortunately we did not enjoy the food - one of us had lamb which was very tough and tasteless and the other of us had fish in a sauce which was equally bland. Pity as we enjoyed the occasion and as we have said the bar menu was very good. Also we tried in vain to connect our I Pad and despite advice from the Reception staff that there were 'hot spots' in the hotel we failed, which would have been a greater nuisance if we had been staying longer.
Nice hotel, lovely position and position given price paid...bed not good but the meal was divine, probably one of the best and certain the most unexpected culinary delights in the UK....duck sublime, dessert unbelievable and cheese from the top draw, all washed down with some excellent Pinotage ;-)
Bed want comfy and room was hot
Everything about our stay was great, would definitely stay again. :)
Food was excellent, and very central to all the places we visited during our stay. Staff were helpful and always available. Good sized pool/spa. would definatly stay here again
The wifi was very temperamental at times making planning on the iPad slightly challenging.
Pleasant staff, nice grounds
Dreadful food, appearance is dated and needs a good lick of paint..
I booked my parents in for two nights, average age 85. They were put in a room near the night club. The first night they were constantly disturbed by the noise from the club and corridor. Second night they were so tired they got some sleep. They liked their bathroom but found the room quite small for two.
Loby could be freshened up.
The food was tasteless and overpriced. The swimming pool was situated a good walk from the hotel.
