Reception staff very helpful & friendly. Plenty of parking. Price very good. Noise from the m2, if staying request a room to the back of the hotel!! Breakfast 'buffet' very poor and staff could be a little more helpful.

Great value for money. Clean. We requested a non-smoking room a few days in advance (through booking.com) and was told on arrival that only smoking rooms were available - it smelt terrible. The attached restaurant isn't that flash.

The Chimney corner was exellent value. We had a very pleasent stay and the rooms were very clean and warm. We also had a great breakfast and had a great night out in the nightclub. There was a slight smell of smoke in the corridors.

The option of a smoking room. During our stay, a cat came in our window, the staff were in no rush to deal with this problem. I hate cats, its just lucky I'm not allergic to them. We had to remove the car ourselves. It then prevented us from opening our window as the cat sat on the sill the rest of the evening.

I didnt like much about it although the bar and restaurant area was bright and fairly modern, the barman and staff in this area were friendly. I was very disappointed with the room and main hotel area and reception. I found the room to be dirty and the bathroom was disgusting, it also took about 5 minutes to get hot water. I found the stay rather unpleasant and would not stay there again

The last time wqe stayed at the chimney corner was 38 years ago, dont think the decor has changed much, especially the bedrooms beds very lumpy and the on suite was something definetly from the 70s, staff very good and cant fault the breakfast we had
