Andrew was an extremely helpful host. very informative about the local area.
We didnt find anything to dislike
I could go walking from the hotel to downtown. It is about 20 minutes walking. It is possible to take a boat from near the hotel to the Quay.
Friendly welcome. Pleasant, light breakfast room. Convenient pub for evening dining opposite and good restaurants nearby.
Some DIY issues which were pointed out: door handles too close to door jam, ceiling stain, shower control poorly-sited.
No cooked breakfast to tempt me
Cold room and leaky shower. Both reported to management and action promised.
A bit cold at night
All except room temperature
Very cold room & bathroom - quite unpleasant really!
Andrew, the manager was so friendly and helpful he made my stay all the more enjoyable.
Couldn't get a signal for my phone.
Friendly and helpfull staff, good location, calm district, clear small comfort room and bathroom
Poor included breakfast
Clean, comfortable, and at a lovely location, quite near the city centre (15 minutes at a slow stroll through the park). Extremely helpful and welcoming staff!
It wasn't a problem for me, but the lack of an elevator might be for others.
The location is quite and very nice.
It was a bit far from the City Centre.
Staff really attentive and friendly from the moment we arrived until we left. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.
Good quality breakfast, walking distance of city centre. Ideal if using National Sports Centre (10 min walk)
Bathroom too cold. Draughty window and radiator not hot enough.
WP&e asked for a quiet room and got a really quiet room, I slept for 11 hours. What more could we ask.
location - just a brisk walk to city clean friendly good value
parking was busy - but it was Christmas time room was a bit chilly
Really comfy beds .clean .
No light by mirror for putting make up on . Parking .location.
The staff were extremely accommodating. Breakfast was lovely and great value. Location was good.
Very good value, clean and nice bed. Helpful staff.
The guest house is in a great location for pretty much anything in Cardiff, and Andrew makes guests feel very welcome. A test of a good establishment is how they handle issues and the heating was faulty when I stayed - a standalone heater was quickly provided and this solved the problem.
Not a problem for me but others might find the climb to the top floor difficult.
The room was spotless, and huge. Had good in room facilities. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, perfect location for the city centre. The guesthouse is in a beautiful period property, and it feels very spacious throughout, you're not crammed in!
Water pressure of the shower was a bit low upstairs.
Easy 15 minute walk into the City Centre. Very clean & well kept. Host very friendly, let us check in early as room available & held our luggage on the last day - much appreciated. Room was comfortable with all basic needs covered. Room 11 at back of the house so no road noise which can be an issue when facing busy Cathedral Road. Very comfortable bed, spotless linen & towels. Basic continental breakfast included; 3 cereals or porridge, tinned or fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, raisins/cranberrys/apricots, toast, juice & tea/coffee options. Could upgrade to Full English for extra £3.50 plus depending on number of items selected. Seems to be a popular way of doing things in Cathedral Rd as experienced same at other Guest Houses.
Hot water tank in attic so right next to Room 11. Very noisy around 7am onwards. Personal preference but no de-caff tea or coffee options in room.
Excellent breakfast. Only had the continental selection included in the price but there was an excellent selection. Freshly made porridge was really good. Nice muesli and fruit. Very welcoming and nice quiet room. Would stay again.
Shower not very powerful. Took a bit T of adjusting but got there in the end.
The house was beautiful, and Andrew the manager went complete out of his way to make sure our stay was prefect. If I went to Cardiff again we would definitely stay here again.
Helpfulness of the manager
Kindess and friendliness of staff and comfort of room
Nice welcome. Clean and modern rooms.
Showers were not very powerful.
