Staff very friendly and excellent service. I had a 'continental' breakfast consisting of a cup of tea, one croissant, and some fresh fruit. I was charged £12.95 for a 'full English breakfast'. On querying this I was told there was no price option for continental breakfast, ie it was £12.95 whatever you had (?) I've never seen this before and have stayed in hundreds of hotels all around the world. I do intend to take this matter up with head office.

A very comfortable hotel with a wonderful view of the Channel. Fantastic value for the money I paid. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant, where the maitre d' was very attentive and helpful. They should not be advertising the hotel as a spa until the spa facilities exist next year. In the restaurant I was presented with a lovely silver domed butter pot. When I opened it there was a tiny blob of butter, which had clearly come out of one of the individual plastic portions served at breakfast. Why spoil a beautiful (not cheap) meal with such miserly penny pinching?

Staff and surroundings were fine. My room was tidy and clean, however there did not seem to be continuity in the preparations of the room. Two times my room was not visited. Also the convenience items (biscuits and coffee) were not always the same. Sometime to packages of biscuits, sometimes one!

I got a seaview room which is really fantastic. There is a restaurant at the hotel's ground floor and the food is really good. I had a roast pork on first night and the seafood linguine on the second night both did not disappoint me. The restaurant staff are friendly. The shower head is not one of those powerful ones so the shower wasn't a great pleasure

The location is good. The room at 93 pounds without breakfast was overpriced. I have a feeling that booking.com customers do not get a good deal in England. We asked for a sea view but of course we did not get one.

The refurbishment from when it was The Churchill is a vast improvement. The public rooms were very pleasant and relaxing and the staff most helpful. The food was also good as was the Restaurant and bar service. The location was ideal for me as an overnight stay before embarking on a cruise from the Western Docks' I had a lovely sea view from my room. The bed was too high although comfortable. The bedroom itself was unbearably hot and although there was a fan it didn't do much to alleviate the situation as the windows could only be opened an inch from the top and an inch from the bottom. I would have preferred a bath in which to relax after a fair distance travelling rather than a small shower.

Close to the ferry terminal located at the water front. Great view! Excelent food. The room was a bit too warm. Too bad that they messed up the invoice. There were itmes on my invoice that I didn't have. Worthwhile checking the invoice it saved me over 70 GBP

I like the entrance to the hotel very posh and clean, staff very nice and helpful. The room very cosy, warm and nice. The bed was uncomfortable, and I should have gone for the sea view. also in the of the description room no mention of a fridge, which was very handy.

Booked flash deal at the last minute, so didn't expect a sea view, which is what we had. Lovely room, great views over seafront and harbour. Minor complaint. Breakfast was £10 each my husband had black pudding which was dried up and hard, and he asked for coffee and got tea.
