Young staff were totally on the ball and very professional
Beer delivery first thing Monday morning. Noise from the bar until 11pm.
The location was good and easy to find , rooms clean and friendly staff
Couldn't get wifi very well and the tv only had a couple of channels
Very friendly staff. Room was very quiet. Lovely view over Ambleside.
Tricky access to car park
location of the hotel was excellent staff were friendly, very clean and good value for money
car park very small needs some negotiation i.e entrance very narrow
good food and drink ok good atmosphere in the hotel
car parking inadequate lack of lift to top floor 76 steps from car park to room not good with heavy suitcase
The room was clean, comfortable, very good value, excellent location, parking and wifi.
The bars/restaurant were rather poor.
Rooms very clean Staff were very welcoming Central location and loads of shops in the area
Very noisy at night and were kept waken on both nights of our stay by loud music from the bar on the first night and a quiz night on the second
Rooms very clean and fresh. Everyone pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was extremely good and plenty of variety. Evening Meals were excellent value.
No Lift. Was put on top floor even though lower floor was preferred (on booking) as husband has arthritis, staff did relocate us to third floor, but I don,t miss the stairs
Bedroom and breakfast
Poor dining room without ambience and inadequate dinner menu
No service at all, staff calls you "buddy". Reservation not honored and I was sent to a neighbour lousy hotel. Lots of noise from the bar. No Wifi. Too narrow parking. House keeping not cleaning the room for 2 days, then did it when I asked for. Door looked early morning on my departure despite me announcing that on previous night. Unfriendly staff, almost yelling at me when I called an emergency contact I found in the bar to let me out. This is some of the comments. Obviously the bar is the only thing this hotel cares about. If I knew that I would have stayed in any hotel even at 30 km away if nothing else was available. A hotel to avoid at any cost.
A GOOD CENTRAL POSTION IN TOWN CENTRE..
THE CARPARK VERY DIFFICULT TO ENTER AND EXIT.
The room much too small.
We like the town of Ambleside and to be able to stay in the town where it is convenient for the shops and the resturaunts, It also has a lot of good walks in the surrounding area which is the main reason we go there. The bus service is also good.
The worst thing staying at the Churchill is the car parking, it is so small and narrow and you get blocked in. We do find it to be quite exspensive, mainly drinks in the pubs and the clothes shops and feel they take advantage of the tourist.
the hotel part is fine
it is above a VERY busy pub which isn't really shown on your website
cant complain it was good and even though there was live music i didnt hear anything in our room
Comfort bed Good room size Clean and bright propriety, once you get to the hotel hallway Nice location, 10 minutes from the Lake and close to shops and restaurants
Electric shower with such a low pressure water I didn't like to need to enter the pub to get to my room Expensive for what it offers
Bedroom, breakfast, staff
Shower was poor
Bed very comfy Food excellent Staff very friendly Good location Would recommend
Wi-fi very poor Pillows too hard
modern clean bedroom and bathroom. good breakfast efficiently served and a fair price
a bit noisy
Location, food staff
Superb location, good breakfast,great views
Three times I informed the staff the tv remote was faulty, the batteries were replaced but nobody bothered to check if that solved the problem which it didn't. As I had informed them it was a faulty remote! This may seem a minor issue but travelling up and down to the top floor was a nightmare. Parking was rediculous.
We booked last minute (30 mins before arrival) and were checked in with no problem. Room nice and spacious, and wifi worked even on 4tg floor. Comfy bed. Very nice cooked breakfast. For £65 it was very great value for money and couldn't expect that much more.
First impression entering through pub on ground floor was not what we expected, but quickly attended to as pub was quiet. Water pressure on 4th floor wasn't the best for showering. Shower was a handheld affair whilst sitting in bath. It still got us clean though :) Car park entrance is narrow as many reviews say but we still got a VW Transporter through!
Location great and friendly staff, clean towels every day
Carpark very tight to drive into and not many spaces but what can you expect being right in centre of town
Lovely staff, very welcoming. Stayed in a superior room - good size, nice bathroom. As this b&b is over a pub, it's probably not suitable for those who like to go to bed early and our room was above the smoking shelter so an early night was out of the question. But we had a lovely evening and fab breakfast the next morning!
Wifi connection is poor
