In Cardiff’s vibrant centre, this hotel is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Cardiff Arena. It offers modern rooms with satellite TV, and an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast.
Score from 1302 reviews Very good
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, served in a light, spacious room. I had the last available room, so it was a single, which was small but functional. Free car parking always a bonus, and city centre is easily accessible by foot.
Coffee from a flask at breakfast.
Great hardworking staff.good food.value for money. Hotel abit dated now tho
Abit of traffic noise at front of hotel.squeeky bed
Comfy bed, location by parkland, pleasant staff, good breakfasts. Lots of hot water for showers.
Bathroom was tired, one shower door hanging off bottom runner, cracked tiles behind washbasin and unfinished carpentry around toilet and shower was not appealing. Room was over the bar and canned music ran until 11.30pm.
Friendly staff who were as helpful as they could be. Brilliant WiFi. Good location for North Cardiff. Great breakfast offer for regular diet customers.
Traffic noise overnight from busy road, old/tired decor, second flight stairs threadbare on edge treads and repaired with gaffer tape, peeling paint over shower, mildew on shower door, very noisy waste pipe plumbing, noisy bathroom extractor fan,TV not operating correctly, flickering light bulb in second floor corridor, very restricted choice of gluten free foods at breakfast despite prior enquiry (not even GF bread on day 1).
Room was clean; nice white bedding; clean bathroom; hot water;
Plastic undersheet on bed! Breakfast could have been better/more thoroughly cooked, ie bacon and tomatoes and I think that real butcher's sausages rather than cheap ones should be part of the breakfast. The quality of the breakfast is very important to people who might otherwise seldom have the full works!
Staff very helpful and friendly. For lunch we had and I recommend the Welsh burger, very tasty and homemade, ham sandwich also delicious with fresh carved ham. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. Plenty of parking.
Light could have been brighter at dressing table for applying makeup. Mushrooms at breakfast were out of a tin!
room was ok good car parking
mattress was like sleeping on the floor no comfort room had ajoining door and the man next door might as well be in the room he coughed allnight the poor girl serving breakfast was running around non stop plus road noise awful
We booked a suite where the decor was tired and unkempt. Bathroom was stained and mouldy with skirting coming away from the walls and a leaking pedestal. TV in bedroom rather than in lounge area and, ladies, you had to be a contortionist to use the hairdryer which was fastened into a drawer and on the opposite side of room to the only mirror. We left and found other b&b as no alternative rooms were available. No charge thankfully.
Plenty of spaces in the free car park. The waiter was very attentive during breakfast - we were even asked if we would like more toast. Nice sausage and bacon in the cooked breakfast. Adequate information given in a pleasant manner on arrival and when checking out.
Something needs to be done about the amount of road traffic noise that comes through the windows in room 3. The ensuite for this room needs refurbishing in order to meet the standard expected at this price. The whole mushrooms in the cooked breakfast looked good, but were too watery in texture.
the staff were very friendly and helpful. in the morning the waiter did all he could to make sure my daughter and i had what we needed as we had to leave before the cooked breakfast was being served. we did leave with bacon sandwiches even though we had a fair bit of choice with continental option. we would return again
woke a few times and heard one or 2 cars but we were at the front and also was worried about waking on time as we had an early appointment. breakfast wasn't officially served until 8 i don't know if it is different on week days this was a sunday morning to be fair as i already said they went out of there way to help us.
Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful manager, nice room, good meal at the bar, it was just quite warm in the room even with the window slightly open, and other guests were noisy that night in the corridors, so quite a poor sleep but no real fault of the hotel, I would stay there again.
Room was warm even with windows open
Staff friendly and helpful.
Needs updating badly, carpets held together by tape, even on stairs . The bathroom had gaps in the floor covering and the vent had filthy cobwebs hanging from it. Shame as it could be lovely.
In room facilities for making tea etc poor.Milk curdled too few tea bags.No towels were present on arrival.
they have broken my suit case
they have broken my suit case
nice bar, good food
on third floor too warm to have windows closed and next to a busy street was too noisy to have windows open. advertized as 5 minute walk from town center. was more like a ten minute walk to closest pub or store and a 5 pound cab ride to town center
Staff pleasant and helpful, able to get an early breakfast
Decor very poor, holes in carpet patched with duct tape, damp patches on walls, noisy plumbing, shower that was more of a dribble than shower!
Hot shower, great breakfast waiter insisting we took bacon sandwich packup when we didnt have time for breakfast-so friendly. Efficient reception desk.
Mattress- cheap, hard, rough, burn hole in duvet cover.
We took advantage of their half board offer for two which was great value for money
Nothing really when compared to the price that we paid. The hotel is a little tired but that was insignificant as we were out and about for most of the time.
It was a good location, near city centre etc., car park was good..
Did not like the noise outside @.1:30 am and the squeeky floor board (stairs)
The hotel was clean the room was big nice clean towels comfy bed the staff were polite and helpful especially the tall gentleman who served breakfast and nice location aswell!
The wifi could have been better but it is free would have complained about it if it cost anything but nothing else to complain about great hotel!
The place is closed to the Cardiff met. university. the staff is excellent, the breakfast and dinner was very good
There is no elevator to the way of rooms
Good location, helpful staff, good breakfast, comfortable room
Hotel a little worn, could do with redecorating etc in some places.
Friendly staff, comfortable and clean will book again when visiting Cardiff.
Returning at 2am after a night out front door open no staff anywhere to be found, unable to contact even with phone on reception. Manager get a grip of your night staff.
All very good, staff friendly, fantastic breakfast, drinks in the bar were a bit on the expensive side. We were only there one night but we would like to visit Cardiff in the future & would definitely stay at the Churchills Hotel again.
