The room was a good size with good facilities. The eating and drinking facilities were very good. Only a 20 minute walk from the centre of Cardiff. the rooms were quiet. The hotel was easy to find. The central heating in the room was too hot. |

The rooms were a very good size ( had booked Mews Cottage and Mews suites for my group). Staff very friendly and helpfull. Good location short drive/taxi from the city centre. Good accomodation for the price we paid (£65 B/B for the above rooms) The breakfast,(whilst plentifull) was not particularly hot and it would have been nice to have had the option of fried eggs - was told no I couldn't have them . |

Easy to book. good price, efficient I formed the impression from the website that it was a lot closer to the centre. The purpose of my visit to Cardiff from Stockport was a night out and I had to get a taxi back. |

The room was very comfortable, the window opened to allow circulation of freah air as opposed to some hotels that are too hot and stuffy. There was no additional charges for parking the car. The breakfast was above average. |

Friendly staff except for the General Manager who was rude. Convenient location for the City Centre. Free Car Parking Very noisy disco next door. Thumping bass till gone Midnight thus little sleep. Main road also very noisy all night so no sleep. Latecomers after Midnight in other rooms were extremely noisy thus no sleep all night! Windows did not close properly. Room smelled of damp from the bathroom (poor drainage). Insuffient extra pillows. No extra blankets. Food in restaurant poor. (eg: Rump steak was actually frying steak!). Noisy plumbing. Poor extraction. Flooded shower tray. Inadequate teabags/coffee/milk. Exterior Floodlights trained on room windows so very distracting despite curtains. Breakfast was mediocre for a Full English/Welsh. No lift. No poterage help. All in all cheapish but not very cheerful! Definitely would advise against staying. |

We enjoyed our meal in the bar. The meats very very tasty, the mashed potato was not what I am used to at home but the choice of veg was ordinary. The cheeses board was varied and well received. I like Brains beer. There was a lot of hair in the bathroom which was not ours and the hair dryer was also hairy. Our overall rating of the room was only a 2 star - door handle was loose, repairs needed to bathroom (radiator did not work) |

The reception area was extremely welcoming with Christmas decorations up and a very cosy feel. The bathroom was dated - perfectly functional but tired. |

The mews cottage was very comfortable and provided an excellent standard of accommodation. Staff dealt with a minor problem efficiently and effectively and then reduced the cost of our stay in compensation for any inconvenience (which was minimal). I would definitely stay here again. |

Spacious room with good sized bathroom with full size bath. Plenty of hot water... Excellent full English brreakfast included. Polite and helpful staff. Had to get more towels but not a big problem as they were in the cupboard down the hall from the room. We were on the second floor and the sash windows opened fully which would enable a child to fall out! |

I liked the older style - i.e. absence of plastic minimalism & etc. The bar is comfortable and pleasant. The Churchill theme is good, and there are old photos which are interesting for Churchill fans. I found the staff a little bit too older-style - after the initial welcome I never really got much cheefulness from anybody. And really it should be possible to ask for a fried egg for breakfast "Sorry, it's scrambled today" just isn't good enough these days. |

The receptionist who was on duty when I arrived was very professional and very pleasant - the two don't always go together. I was also very pleased that the wi-fi was both free and easy to access. The night receptionist was perfectly competent but not as personable as his colleague earlier. That really is the worst I can say about my stay, and that's really picking nits. |

The breakfast was nice, was good to have a bar and restaurant in the hotel as well. Food was good from the restaurant. The whole place probably needs a good scrub on the outside and the rooms need moderninsing (TV and carpet etc). |

Staff were very nice - we had a good evening meal, and breakfast were helpful as the only eggs on offer were scrambled, and I wanted a fried egg and they did one for me. However, only scrambled were openly available. The room was cramped, and the hotel generally is worn. |
