Breakfast was very good. The hotel owner was extremely nice and very very helpful - more than I expected! The room quite spacious and the bed was very comfy. Overall a nice place to stay, and with character!
Bathroom interior a bit shabby. No shower gel, just soap (but a shampoo was provided).
My room was too close to the kitchen ie just above it,some noise unavoidably was to be expected,
Pleasant surprise ,didn't expect the hotel and surroundings. Spacious bedroom in the cottages. Great, shower ,Really comfortable rooms. Superb breakfast and good service.
Directions are not listed on my TOM TOM Sat Nav. Could not find churchills straight away, in fact drove past it twice
The décor and ambiance .
The staff they are good
Shower,bathroom,teamaking facilities all good
It's not a criticism but what one expects from a single room at the top of the building
Good food, very reasonably priced.
Central heating left on all night. Very warm in the room.
Ease of parking, booking in and out, staff friendliness, good breakfast, availability of bar and food.
We paid for what we got- good value. We can see that some refurbishment is needed.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Good to have a proper bathroom with a bath.
The size and quality of the rooms.and excellent meals.
The noise of wedding guests .
Excellent bedroom and friendly service. Breakfast second to none.
Steaks are terrible, uneatable to be exact. Cottages are nice, but could be improved at very little cost. the Lounge area is as waste of space due to layout and lack of facilities.
Staff, friendly, helpful, especially, Skye, Steve, & the chap who serves breakfast (didn't catch his name) cooked breakfast not greasy and the one meal we had in the evening was nice. Good value for money. Please remember this hotel building is over 100 years old, it's not a premiere inn type, it has character and we liked it.
It was an amazing stay in churchills for our anniversary we will be visiting again x
Good location and a lovely hotel excellent staff and the cottage was lovely and comfortable will book again
Location was ok for the city
Food was cold and burnt. Room was dirty and very dated. Had room upgrade but definitely not worth it. Too expensive when compared locally. Bed too hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom in poor condition. Woken up at 4 am by other guests arriving.
Hotel, staff, food, parking. Nothing too much trouble, very welcoming, would certainly stay again in the near future
bigger quilts needed on single bed
The shower was very good.
Everything well worn
Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Although the rooms need redecorating, they are very clean and comfortable. My mum and I had a very good nights sleep as usually we don't sleep well away from home. Food lovely and very good value!
staff / bar / breakfast / as my room hadn't been slept in the night before I was able to check in earlier than normal
My room was pretty tired - cracked bathroom panel / towel rail coming off the wall (room 7) but OK for a night
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was perfect. The room was clean and spotless.
I was staying in a first floor room and you could sometimes hear musoc from the bar.
Enjoyed the hotel's character and beautiful leafy location opposite park. It's a handsome building that has unrealised potential if modernised. Staff were personable friendly and helpful.
Tired facilities. the hotel urgently needs new mattresses and to update tired bathrooms.
Excellent value for money on dinner bed and breakfast tariff, unlimited menu choice was great, rather than the usual restrictions you get on this rate. Service very friendly and helpful.
Room and communal areas very tired
The room was a nice change as it was a little cottage set up just off the main building which made it unique. The breakfast was great and the dinner was good. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Easy wi-fi access. Free parking which is a bonus in Cardiff.
Personally we'd prefer the TV downstairs in the sitting room rather than in the bedroom.
The wonderful staff really make this place. They all seem to have several jobs to do but they buzz around with great humour and enthusiasm
The hotel is closing down soon It has been on the market for some time and a lot of areas need a bit of work. Rather frayed round the edges.
