The internal decor The single beds were so springy it actually ejected one our party onto the floor in the middle of the night when they turned over. The noise of the plumbing at night was frankly terrible.

Location. Able to walk through the woods to coves and Brixham, Quirkiness of building . Very tasty breakfast, but young girl on her own having to work very hard , where was the boss? The staff, although good were very young and there seemed to be nobody in overall control. The place is beginning to look a bit shabby . Light bulbs not replaced. Remote control no batteries .

The staff were first class, helpful, smiling if, perhaps, a little amateur.Excellent bar. Two lights out in bathroom, hair on bathroom floor, shower pathetic both in terms of flow and temperature. Although the staff were good there appeared to be a lack of management and supervision.

Place was full of interest and history. Bar was cosy but overrun with dogs. Food was good. Good location for walking into Brixham / coastal path. Room was tiny and dominated by a four poster which was far too big for room. Scruffy throughout and in need of clean and repaint. Inadequate surfaces in bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom door didn't close.

It was quiet and relaxing, just what my husband and i needed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had trouble with our shower and were given the use of another room until they got it sorted the following day.The rooms were lovely ,warm and comfortable. The food was also excellant. There were a few cobwebs around but then it is a very old building !

Lovely bar area and breakfast room / restaurant - beautiful old building furnished in good taste. Nice open fire in bar. Good quality and good portion size bar food. Food in restaurant very nice. Good quiet location near Brixham and Paignton - need to have a car to stay there though. While mostly professional, some of the staff were a little indiscreet and more unprofessional (i.e. we could overhear their gossip about the hotel and in one case that as soon as they could, they were going to find a job elsewhere). Also when asking a member of staff for a dessert menu I was told rather unceremoniously to go to the bar and get one myself!

It had everything you required to make your stay pleasant. Staff were friendly and had gone to the trouble of making Halloween a fun night for the clients. They worked hard and kept their clients in focus at all times. The food was very good in the restaurant and the set menu which was not really promoted gave good value for money. Well done to the team at Churston Court Inn, we would return to stay again if we were in the area and would certainly recommend it to others. The central heating kept waking us up on our first nights stay so we turned it off after that to solve the problem. The lighting which was in keeping with the hotel was not bright enough for us but we could see what they wanted to achieve. We would have like to have known about the set menu and wondered if the period of time within which it was offered was too short, some restaurants would have this on offer throughout the evening.

We got married in St Marys 10 years ago in December and often come back to have a night in peace away from the kids! We love the whole atmosphere of the Churston Court and hope that it never changes! The food is always amazing and the staff were really helpful. We love the open fires and the fact that there are no telephones in the bedrooms! Nothing. but I must remember to pack a hairdryer next time!

I loved the ambience of Churston Court. It is like having your own house and going up to bed at the end of the evening. The rooms are lovely, we had a four poster. The staff are very attentive and accomodated our every whim. The food is great - the best burger I have ever eaten was enjoyed in the bar! I didn't like the cobbles around the patio in the garden, they are loose and quite dangerous because you step off of them to the carpark and I did witness many people stumbling. They would benefit from an extra lounge - there are loads of function rooms in this hotel but they are all made up for eating at tables. I would suggest that they remove the tables and chairs and fill with big comfy settees and a log burning fire. There is one near the bar but it is always taken.

The Inn was the perfect location for us, as we were attending an event nearby. The atmophere was great, dark and mysterious and very friendly. A very pretty setting for a long weekend or holiday. The Inn had been patched up rather than decorated properly. Our bathroom had quite a large leak in the ceiling with water running down the wall, we put several large towels down to mop it up during the night. When approached the staff in the morning...................... the reply was 'Oh the bucket must be full.. I will send someone up on the roof'..... Not what you expect ... and I had to ask to be moved to another room. It seemed common place to them. It could be so nice if only it was looked after properly.
