quiet peaceful and comfortable
nothing to dislike.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very supportive when our holiday was unavoidably cut short.
What wasn't to like? The staff were warm and welcoming. I didn't feel like a second rate citizen because I brought my dog, my 14 yr old son was completely bowled over, the room was really comfy with just a hint of historical intrigue and the food (we only had breakfast) was excellent.
I loved every inch of its quirkiness and can think of nothing detrimental.
THE WHOLE ATMOSPHERE OF THE HOTEL
A really lovely clean comfortable room. Staff were nice and helpful. Dinner was good and reasoably priced. An attractive and interesting place to stay, that will remain a pleasant memory!
A little disapointed by the breakfast . Sausages and bacon seemed of catering quality and did not live up to promise. But that is all that I have negative to say.
I have visited Churston on a number of occasions as I had old relatives that moved to Brixham many years ago but we always ate in the bar so to see the proper restaurant was brilliant (what character). We hope that a grandson can visit sometime as he loves history.
General room standard gone down Rooms need money spent
Everything was great. We were upgraded as the Hotel was quiet. All Staff were lovely and helpful. The room and food were excellent.
Lovely house, great atmosphere and excellent food and drink.
Great place with loads of history! Just over a mile to brixham town taxi's readily Available.. Food outstanding would highly recommend this place.
Only gripe was shower not very good!! Presure terrible
Room smelled of sewage. Staff wasn't very helpful. Food not as good as expected.
We stayed at churston court for one night, it was a fantastic evening with a very friendly atmosphere and a welcome, the staff were there at a minutes notice ensuring everything was to your satisfaction, the food was excellent, we ate in the restaurant and couldn't fault it, we went in the bar afterwards for drinks and sat on the leather sofa by the open fire in a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The bedroom was excellent with a large 4 poster bed and huge bath to relax in, we will certainly be going back. A big thankyou to all the staff for a fantastic night.
The restaurant and standard of food was amazing. The decor throughout was very impressive and attention to detail perfect. The staff were friendly and efficient nothing was too much trouble. Definately be back.
We were really looking forward to a log fire and they said they couldn't light it till December even though the weather was grey and dark. We were not cold though but it would have been more welcoming. The pillows were nylon and made us sweat at night which was a shame as the bed was fantastic. We will take our own next time.
love the building and location-a long held wish to see more of the inside and to stay there.Have known and walked past the house for very many years on our way to Elberry
Four poster bed...erm, thats it!
No reception area, no visitors lounge, no attention to detail, no care of guests.
Everything. This hotel was everything you'd expect if you wanted to stay in an historic manor. The staff went out of their to make you feel welcome. The room was great (No. 3) with a 4 poster bed. Great night sleep and not a ghost in sight. Would stay here again in the winter with a roaring fire going.
The atmosphere of the hotel was fantastic, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the hotel on our first night and although this was a little pricey the food was fantastic! The hotel is in a lovely area and not far from may places to visit and thing to do.
The four poster bed was a bit uncomfortable and probably needed a new mattress. Some areas of the hotel decor could do with a little money spent to touch it up a bit
we are a young couple, first time away together. On our arrival the staff upgraded us to a superior suite. we had a lovely time, the food in the restaurant was excellent.
The room was a little cold but the bed was lovely and warm with a good thick quilt.
Furnishings and decor. Beautiful old building c.11th century. Eclectic mix works brilliantly. Excellent bar popular with locals ( great draught beers ). dinner well above expectations and breakfast excellent. Sorry it was only for one night. Really friendly staff.
The fact that we couldn't stay longer
wonderful historical building. peaceful location. handy for Brixham by the back road. plenty of parking space. being upgraded.
inadequate light for reading
Quirkiness of the hotel and atmosphere. Food was good.
Room 19 is on the main through fare and very noisy, the bed is very firm and the pillows need replacing. The TV has very few channels that work. When you check in they swipe your credit card for £1.00 however this was not refunded when we settled the bill.
We had a lovely room overlooking the front courtyard. When we came back in evening we could hear the bell practice from the church next door. The breakfast was excellent. Good location to visit Brixham and local National Trust gardens.
We couldn't stay longer!
Chose to stay here for my 40th birthday and had a fab time. Free upgrade on room on arrival which was stunning. Staff very welcoming and helpful. The food was amazing. Cant wait to visit again.
