The fact that we couldn't spend Christmas there with this lovely family, in their beautiful house which I suspect would be gorgeous at Christmas!
We are all in our late fifties, early sixties, and they were like our Guardian Angels. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them, from dealing with my oxygen supplies, to getting a good price for my friends car (she drove it down to sell!) , to making our disabled friend very welcome (we specifically came down to visit him). Endless cups of tea, and lots of advice on local hot spots, and not to mention the personal advise which was given and gratefully received.
The most surprising thing? The small decanter of Sherry with two glasses, sitting on the dressing bureau! Such a wonderful touch!!.
Do go - I guarantee a most remarkable experience.
Oh and Mischief and Flora (the cows), came along and made friends with my husband Sandy!
