We liked Cisswood House because of the location and home comforts. The staff was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our stay. We have stayed before so it was familiar to us. We also enjoyed the swimming pool.

The location to the centre of brighton. The pool was very small and the food in the restaurant was good but expensive. Also the rooms were so noisey-it's not a good place if you want a good nights sleep. One of our neighbours sneezed-my friend said 'bless you' & they replied 'thank you'. This would have been funny had they not kept us awake with noisey sex, tv blearing and generally acting like teenagers in Magaluf. I wouldnt stay here again.

The room was nice and very comfortable. Staff were really helpful. The bar/lounge area was lovely. It was quite noisy in the night and the swimming pool/jacuzzi area was quite unclean.

The location was good, the hotel itself is very nice and the facilities are good. Parking was excellent and the staff very helpful. We booked an executive room and was expecting what was viewed on the internet photo's of the executive rooms. The room was bigger than the average room however it definatley did not seem like an executive room compared to what I've stayed in before. There was no extra's such as biscuits, the robes and slippers were not in the room on arrival and when we did recieve them they were tatty and the slippers were like cardboard. I was dissapointed with the room, the evening meal had very little choice and as my mother did not like anything on the menu we had to go into town to have a meal which we didn't want to do. I think a hotel of this type should have more choice.

Returning from a late evening meal with friends we found that the local sponsord golf tournament was holding a disco in the hotel. The noise was incredible and we could not stay in our fabulous room as it was nearly above the disco. We were moved to a quieter part of the hotel, smaller room but with all the same furnishings, only to find that noise from the kitchen/bar servicing the entertainment - incessant banging of doors - was disturbing..so the management took my wife around the hotel until the he found the Garden Suite was ready for occupation and he handed over the keys and carried her siutcases. No extra charge or charge for breakfast!! Lovely caring hospitality. Sussex/Hampshire country lanes do not have street lights even at busy road junctions and we passed the entrance to the hotel twice because it was not lit up!!! Apart from that superb location.

Location and friendliness of staff Hotel is very dated and the room and also foyer smell old. Room curtains are torn and very smelly as if the carpet. The shower is also very poor and takes ages to heat. The bar lounge seating is old, smells and feels dirty. There are no biscuits provided in the room with the tea and coffee( only 2 teabags!) and there is also a cost for more. The biscuits requested were of very poor quality. In general not a pleasant visit.

We liked the location of the Hotel and the swimming pool the best. We didn't like how expensive the breakfast was.we didn't like the fact that the toilet didnt work properly. We also didnt like the bed (old, squeaky and dipped at the end).

Calm atmosphere.,beautiful setting. All requisite services good. Staff very well skilled and supportive. Rooms very well furnished and prepared. Spa facilities very enjoyable, staffed, good access times.[showing minor signs of aging] parking superb space, slightly inaccessible for rooms in new wing chef provided exceptioal quality. Convoluted path from reception to far end rooms

Reception staff were polite, if not overly welcoming. The setting is pretty, the general atmosphere pleasant. The food was fair. The hotel needs a general cleaning up; curtains and carpets look like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. Planning not always good: Saturday breakfast, the dining room was running out of basics; Sunday afternnon tea took forever to organise. First morning, decided to lie in; cleaning staff dumped our supplies outside and made no further attempt to do the room even though we were out from lunchtime to late evening. The beds need new mattresses. I had to complain about a rowdy party above us that continued all night. I got no feeedback. Overall, not good value for money.

Hotel was old and tired and the bedrooms were very noisey, no soundproofing. Room rate was exceptionally high and there was a wedding on. Bathroom had a leak in the toilet and it was blocked. The pool also is very old and looks nothing like the photo on the website. Avoid

Good location for us as we had a wedding to go to. And the shower was good in the room. Fixed price taxi was expensive - £10 to go one mile down the road at about 7pm, £15 for the return journey after midnight. Probably not the hotel's fault ... but they didn't mention it was going to be a fixed price when they booked it for us.

The friendly and helpful staff make eyou feel very welcome. The room I was allocated (executive double room) was spacious, the wi fi worked well and the en suite was clean. I had to climb over a pile of dirty bedding to reach my room as the laundry cupboard was broken/open and the old sheets etc had spilled out into the hallway. Although the room was spacious the carpets etc were very worn and looked in need of a good clean or refurbishment.
