Love the bed, pillows. Lighting.
Not enough space for clothes. Also a silly thing but important, there was no bin in the room, only a tiny one in the toilet. Didn't like the wash hand basin being in the room as the bed and having to brush my teeth in front of folk.
staff, modern hotel, cleanliness
I think the Glasgow hotel was a little overpriced, I've stayed in Citizen M Hotels in Rotterdam & Amsterdam, price per night was half the price than what I paid in Glasgow, would stay here again though
Location is excellent, nice hotel bar.
I am not going to return largely due to personal taste. Despite the modern design space saving features in the rooms, there was no storage or floor space. It really was cramped. It was difficult to find things or keep the floor clear. This leads to the next problem - with the floor being cluttered, you need lighting overnight to use the bathroom but you can't easily put on low lighting to use the bathroom overnight without waking up your partner. To clarify, there is a tablet by the bed to control blinds, temperature and lighting but the bathroom is a very brightly lit pod that is as intrusive as a ceiling light for a person trying to sleep. The bathroom is not very private, so they have clearly put in a shower curtain room divider as a (useless) privacy screen. Another personal taste issue - with all the money spent on modern design, who signed off on the in room flimsy, university-halls like, shower curtains as room dividers that don't add to bathroom privacy, in a room so small it clearly has no use for division? I don't even check room facilities before booking these days in 4 star hotels, but I will start. I would have expected there to be a mini bar in the room as standard. Overall the location is good and the bar is nice, but you can find hotels with good locations and nice bars elsewhere - without the design flaws this one has.
Location is excellent, large TV with free movie's which we didn't use. Very comfortable bed.
Room very small, bathroom large however reminded me of hospital, allocated disabled room so basin etc was low level. Great choice for breakfast however not enough seating, we ended up with tray on our knees! £141 for the night! Expected much more!
Modern up to date quirky hotel. Great breakfast.
Rooms slightly small.
The Samsung tablet to control tv, lights blinds was really cool. The bed was like 2 doubles. Brilliant.
The fact you can't pay by cash is very annoying had to phone a friend to transfer cash to pay it. Shower was good but we all like a bath.
No tea and coffee making facilities. Room is smallish. Lights difficult to operate No plug near mirror for hairdryer
staff very helpful -I had problems with the tablet (everything works through a tablet!) and staff was available and very kind
Funky decor, great service
Entertainment system did not work and probably over complicated
Staying at CitizenM was just great fun, as well as offering excellent accommodation, limitless breakfast, and really well-trained, happy staff who seemed to revel in the slightly wacky culture of this hotel chain. Would happily stay there again.
What's not to like?
I liked the rooms were spotless the staff were polite. Just everything really !!!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was in a good location. We really enjoyed our stay there.
As someone who likes all the self-check/DIY options for everything (the less I have to talk to multiple people who can help me, the better I like something) a whole self-check-in process at CitizenM is just the thing I loved... the entire check-in is automated and done by oneself. Brilliant. No line, no talking - just quick, smooth and easy. While the rooms are rather small, the beds are massive and comfortable. Everything in-room is controlled with a tablet device - TV, temperature, blackout curtains, lighting. The shower is in a little Jetsons-like, space-age-looking capsule, but despite the diminutive size of everything, the shower is also fantastic. Best of all, as a global traveler who sometimes forgets the right power plug adapter at home, I was most pleased to see that CitizenM has made the most of the little details - wall plug sockets are designed for UK and EU plugs. It's the little things, right? Great, central location and quiet.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic with insufficient cooked food
The whole ambiance and decor
The room was a bit small
beating Scotland + hospitallity
Decor Helpfulness of staff Bar area seating Cleanliness
Sluggish running wash basin smelt
It was a bit different and would really suit a younger clientele.
Too trendy for us - it took us a while to master the technology. Very small rooms with only one bedside light. No twin bedded rooms - not suitable for 2 friends on a shopping trip to Glasgow.
There was nothing not to like. The concept is amazing and ideally suited to business trips. Everything there that you need. Would recommend it to anyone
Nothing but the fact that i had to leave!
The very helpful and friendly staff The hotel's style, cleanliness and facilities Just everything ...we had a wonderful stay and will definitely go back
Smashing location, great staff and great rooms! Check in was delayed one hour but was given a free drink which was a fair deal!
