Crown Hotel sits on the edge of Blandford, with views of the Stour River's water meadows and the town. It has a gastro-style restaurant and a stylish, upmarket bar.

Riverside room: Comfortable bed Nice view Good staff reasonable price
Road facing room: I am more sensitive than most and our room was closest to the road in the whole hotel but - too much traffic noise despite good noise insulation
The staff and service. The location by the river and the views.
Nothing really - the room was rather warm overnight, but that was the weather!
Suitable location travelling down from the midlands. Easy to find Good basic facilities Friendly staff
Characterless, but not really a problem for an overnight stop.
White sheet and towels
Breakfast. Meat very poor.
The welcoming atmosphere continued at the good value Carvery and bar. Both with friendly staff. The room was clean and modern. Highly recommended.
The only thing that let it down for us was a soft mattress and marshmallow pillows. This is only a personal opinion and we shall be using this hotel again.
Location Views Friendly ness Comfort
Friendly welcome from late-night manager-cum-barman. Charming helpful staff at breakfast.
Friendly staff ,location , facilities and how well kept it is
Leaving in the morning!!
Very noisey awfull nights sleep
The outside area overlooking the river The central location The view from the room
Liked restaurant very much. Have eatan here before but it was first time I have stayed.
No air con so had to have window open and then found it very noisy.
have stayed a few times here and for the price its ok. breakfast is ok and food in restaurant is ok too. rooms reasonably comfortable and staff always helpful.convenient for Bournemouth Airport too. nice in summer as you can sit on terrace facing the river
front facing rooms can be noisy as its a busy road and traffic builds up early morning
Light and airy brilliant buffet nice setting
No secure car parking
Good location for travelling around the area.Friendly staff.Clean rooms.Great view from River facing room.
For those staying more than one day the Carvery is inadequate. We had the special at double the price but were obliged to get our vegetables from the carvery. Perhaps a more A la Carte approach would improve patronage with Carvery on certain days only. Would not have enjoyed a road facing room though.
Friendly staff. We were given a bottle of wine on the house because we had a short wait for our restaurant table despite having reserved it and being residents. Riverside view from our room and the riverside terrace was really nice.
Thought that for a restaurant in a four star hotel the meal that we had wasn't very good.
Management immediately moved us to another room when we complained about inconsiderate neighbours in adjacent room
Inconsiderate other guests in adjacent room kept us awake for most of the night.
Great location and our room over looked the river. Good sized room. Carvery in the restaurant was excellent value for money and very tasty. Definitely recommend this hotel.
The room was huge and the view in the morning was really nice
The fire alarm going off at 01:45 and there is not much sound proofing in the rooms, got woken up early by foot steps in the corridor
Food, Spacious rooms Clean rooms
The service from the staff was very good.
The mattress on the bed was so poor,( hard with ridges in it). We had to ask for a quilt to sleep on.
cleanliness of the bedroom and en-suite , lovely relaxing view from bedroom window. excellent buffet breakfast and reasonably priced evening carvery. efficiency and friendliness of all the staff. lovely relaxing view from the restaurant and also terrace area, great walk along beside the river and seeing the various wildlife including a kingfisher and 5 swans.
Functional and does what it says on the tin. Location is OK. Backs on to a stream. Rooms are quite spacious and clean.
Lacks character. Its more what I would describe as a glorified motorway service cafe. I had carvery which was mediocre. 3 choices of meat and veg. You can't really go wrong with this can you ? Just didn't really do anything for me I'm afraid.
Relaxed, loads of parking, lovely spot.
No AC in room, it was very warm.
Relaxed atmosphere. Spacious rooms. Restaurant food very good.
Due to standard of food struggled to get a table due to non-resident guest using restaurant. (Not really a negative)
