Very easy and lovely way to spend a weekend. Key box for access meaning that we felt at home as did not have to mess around with entry and expecting somebody to be there.
Check out the headline.
There was a problem with the TV, which kept switching itself off on certain channels.
1.The apartment was filthy. All the 'white' net curtains were dark grey bordering on black as they were so dirty. The hand banisters on the stair wells were sticky and I had to clean them. The fridge door was also filthy and hadn't been wiped down for some time. There was 'hair' all over the skirting boards in the bathroom and I imagine it hadn't been cleaned for some time. 2. The kitchen was poorly furnished. There were only 2 mugs and literally 4 knives, 4 forks, 4 spoons, 4 cereal bowls and 5 plates. Only one saucepan had a lid. There were no bowls to serve food or to make a salad with. It was really bad when you've got kids to feed. 2. The glass windows are not double glazed and you can hear everything outside even when the windows are shut. It was awful. It's right next to a bus-stop (about 3 bus stops actually) and up to midnight the buses and open their doors and all you can is the 'psssst' sound as the bus doors open and shut and of course the conversation of people waiting to board the bus. It got very annoying. On Friday nights beware of the drunk(s) going home and stopping on a bench on the other side of the road. My two young children heard a very long argument at about 05:00 one morning and some horrendous swearing. It lasted a good 30 minutes. I cannot emphasise enough what a dump this place is. Do not stay here.
Apartment was a great idea, good value for money and right near the city centre!
A little bit noisy as it's near a road, but we stayed when it was really hot so we had all the windows open all over! I'm sure if you closed the windows it would be fine :)
Great Location Quality furnishings/fittings Lovely outside balcony/terrace area with lots of patio furniture Well stocked kitchen
-location - flat had everything it needed
-very noisy during weekend nights inside and outside - My stay was nice enough, but when I came home I received an e-mail accusing me of breaking the electrical cooker and money was taken from my visa card. I only used the cooker once, did not break anything and did not notice anything broken, which I told City Lodgings by phone and e-mail. They maintained it was me. I asked for the invoice of the repair, which I never received, nor did I receive any other proof. My advice to guests: check if everything is working and nothing is broken with a member of staff when moving in and moving out. My mistake was not asking for this.
What a pleasant change from a motel or hotel. We could sit back and enjoy a drink while cooking dinner and doing our washing. Fabulous value.
The parking was secure but it's always nice to park your car in the same building. This was a minor drawback.
Good location, all necessary appliances, nice patio
WiFi is paid
A "feel at home experience". Nice bedrooms and cosy kitchen with all the basics you could need - oven, electric kettle, toaster and cutlery and dishes. Very close to the center of the town (~200m from the cathedral)
It is very noisy. Exactly by a steep street with public transport on it. The windows are old and do not isolate very well.
Great value for money! Cousy! Clean! Good kitchen! Everything worked propoly even washing machine.
No parking place( 5 min to go).
Good central location, well appointed apartment, everything we needed.
apartment was very noisy as right next to road with no double glazing. Curtains were very thin so let in a lot of light in the bedroom.
Handy location for Sheffield centre, near a secure car park, small but adequate supermarket and excellent leisure, entertainment facilities. Has an outdoor area with patio tables.
Internet OK but not always 100% reliable.
It was just perfect for a family weekend. With enough space for us all . Much nicer than Hotel rooms!
ease of using apartments nice clean and very private.
the management staff is extremely helpful. if u need anything just ask.and they will provide.
Pretty much everything
Liked it all
The location is perfect for access to the City Centre and other facilities such as the Victoria Quays. Car parking is top notch - a couple of minutes around the corner.
It was a shame that some younger guests returned in the early hours after clubbing on the Saturday night, bringing a crowd back with them and decided to party - this was from 2.30 am until 6.30 am.I asked them to stop but to no avail. Maybe a night security/porter should be considered. Although we would consider staying here again ONLY if this issue was resolved.
Good location. Although not such a good area of town, still dead central Great price
Building is old but facilities good
Virtually everything about the apartment except the mentioned reservations.
Bathroom wash hand basin is too small. On arrival, I complained about the cleanliness of the environment of my apartment and it was made up immediately.
Everything there is nothing to complaint about feel at home and stuff just lovely!
Nothing. Perfect everything
No complaints whatsoever
beds comfortable and bathroom clean. good location for town
really run down, cracked windows, no double glazing so VERY noisy. carpets and paint work desperately needing upgraded. curtains disgustingly dirty as were the windows. wifi didn't work on upper floors
That it slept 6
