City Hotel  

The room was clean and excellent value for money- a massive room suitable for four people for just £69 a night! Checking in and was very easy, as the staff were very polite and friendly. Superb location (literally just round the corner from an entrance to Aldgate East tube station) and excellent facilities (massive flat-screen tv with a wide range of satellite channels and a large fridge in each room). Breakfast was very good, I was a bit worried about how to sort out the extra payment but the staff on hand were very helpful. For the amount of money I paid to stay in a room of that standard in central London, I'd definitely stay there again.

I guess it wasn't brilliant looking out the window to the other side othe road were a group of youths were squatting in an abandoned garage. But then again, just above that were some excellent views of central London's bank buildings. A beautiful yet tragic summation of modern society? Perhaps.

Great location, close to Liverpool Street and Aldgate east tube stations.

Exceptionally clean. The staff have facilities to store your luggage not just before you check in, but also did it agin after check out so we didn't have to lug it around London with us!

the car park at the rear was very helpful. Staff were very friendly. liked having a fridge in the room this was helpful with it being a family room we were able to keep drinks etc cool. family room was split into two giving more privacy.

the other bedroom had a TV which did not work. so although there were 2 tv's only one of them worked. we though it was very pricy for the facilities and for the fact that the tv didnt work. there were no biscuits or snacks provided, which is highly unusual for a hotel. only coffee/tea provided. (family room) you would expect a biscit provided. There were not enough towels provided for four of us there.so we had to use each others wet towels.

The rooms were of a good size, we had a family room which was of an excellent size.

That we had requested a family room and double room next to each other if possible, we were told when we checked in that there were no double rooms close or on the same floor as the family rooms - I would have expected to have been told this when I booked it.

There is a nice bar downstairs. The location of the hotel is very good - walking distance from the City of London and Tower bridge. Very close to metro station.

The rooms interior is a little bit old and used, but rooms were clean and spaceful.

Loved the location, it was only 1 minute walk away from Aldgate East tube station. The double room was a great size with a large bathroom. The room was very clean. The staff were pleasant. Couple of negatives but not disasterous! Would stay here again.

The bed wasn't very comfortable, I could feel the springs in the mattress. The handle on the toilet was broken, it was very loose we rang reception and were told that they have had received complaints about the handle before and to wait 15 mins before flushing (I assume they thought that the cistern was slow to fill with water) we figured out a knack of how to use it ourselves. But the fact they had no problem telling me they "had received complaints before" didn't impress me - just fix the handle!!!

The room is spacious and all the stuffs are quite nice.

One night's fee has been erroneously frozen in my account by the hotel after staying, causing some inconvinience for me.

Nice location attached to public transport at Aldgate east and buses. Line 25 is directly to Oxford Circus. Rooms on 5th floor are OK. Spacious and (almost) clean.

Mixed neighborhood. At nights people are shouting.

It is in a very good location It is a busy part of London - make sure you request a quiet room; at the back, but not over the beer garden and higher than the 1st floor if possible - makes for a quiet night. The staff are very firendly and helpful - I left my phone charger there and they posted it on. The buffet breakfast is vast and well worth the money, but at a set price, it might be cheaper to go out to one of the many great breakfast and coffee bars near by/ next door if you just want a coffee and croissant!

the hotel itself was nice and clean and most of all the staff was very welcoming and helpful. I would use this hotel again if in the area again.

It near the subway and very convenient. The room is big. But the double bed is small It seem to me like super single.
