The room was clean and excellent value for money- a massive room suitable for four people for just £69 a night! Checking in and was very easy, as the staff were very polite and friendly. Superb location (literally just round the corner from an entrance to Aldgate East tube station) and excellent facilities (massive flat-screen tv with a wide range of satellite channels and a large fridge in each room). Breakfast was very good, I was a bit worried about how to sort out the extra payment but the staff on hand were very helpful. For the amount of money I paid to stay in a room of that standard in central London, I'd definitely stay there again. I guess it wasn't brilliant looking out the window to the other side othe road were a group of youths were squatting in an abandoned garage. But then again, just above that were some excellent views of central London's bank buildings. A beautiful yet tragic summation of modern society? Perhaps.

I booked a single room and got a huge room with double and single bed, all of it looked new and everything was nice and clean, loved that the bathroom had a tub. Maybe not in the best location, the look from the hotel window was the banking district in the background but an abandoned scrapyard with homeless people burning cables for scrap metal in the evening, not very nice!

Internet connection is costly and available to one device at a time. Hotel staff didn't say anything about this, thus I had to pay twice. Hotel staff was even impolite as I complained about this.

Let us start from little... - the TV did not have a remote that was working. This fact alone would not be very negative, but the manual change of channel had been obviously tampered with, so that it was not possible at all to change channel. This seemed a deliberate choice of the hotel. After asking on the second day about getting it fixed, a general promise was made ("we will fix it tomorrow") -- but nothing was done and no note about the problem was provided. - there was an excessively hot temperature and extremely dry air when I first entered the room. They did not make sure that the environment of the room had become unsuitable before I arrived. I later manually decreased the pressure valve of the radiator, and the situation improved. - the bed was uncomfortable. - the carpet of the room had stains.

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff, great value for money. . Large room, quiet (on back, not street side). Local area very shabby, if vibrant, but that's not the hotel's fault. Bar prices quite high, as expected, and quite normal for London.

I liked the staff and the location. The only problem I had was with the towels. They would change it everyday despite the sign explaining about the possibility of leaving it somewhere else so that that wouldn't happen.

Very clean and comfortable, very close to underground, good price (at least over the weekend), many restaurants nearby (one is located right at the ground floor of the hotel). No complaints about the hotel itself, but the surrounding area is not very nice looking: the view is not so great (old, empty buildings just across the street) and the street next to the hotel tends to be noisy on Saturday night.

You could hear people talking outside all night. Windows need to be fixed either double glazed or sound proof.

Good discount offer received, booked single room and was surprised to get a large room. Located in the heart of the city, bricklane restaurants on the same street, you have access to food till 3a.m, close to algate east station, excellent customers service, went extra mile to satisfy both day and night, nothing was too much to ask. Area may appeared dodgy but security in the hotel and the sorroundings are brilliant. Non uniformed Police presence at all time.

Everything was really clean, staff couldn't have been more helpful or more welcoming. The room was enormous- a nice change from being stuck in a tiny room for singles! Room service was quick and the food was really good. Having tried various disappointing hotels in London, this one is by far the best as well as being affordable.

Convenience - very close to the local tube stop which made commuting to work in the morning very easy! The staff - very helpful, even when I arrived close to midnight. The size and cleanliness of the room was pleasing. Bedding looked a little dated but nonetheless clean and comfortable.

Location was perfect for the purposes of my trip and the rate was fantastic value for money and the best value I've found in London in recent years. Room was unexpectedly spacious, very clean and pleasant. If one is staying around Liverpool Street/Spitalfields/Brick Lane area this is perfect for business or pleasure at the keenest price in town. Perfect location for brick lane curry houses and not having far to walk to nurture an Indian induced food coma afterwards. The only two relatively minor criticisms I have was that I could not get the tv to work for whatever reason. Didn't particularly mind as I wasn't staying there to watch tv, although if I wasn't meeting someone to watch Arsenal v Leeds match this may have been annoying. The other small thing was that the carpet was damp underneath the air conditioning vent. Still very impressed with location, price and size of room and would stay again.

I was surprised with the spacious room for a single person. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Bathroom has been updated. The general location of town it is in. Not the best neighborhood but the hotel took steps to increase security. Nice for a short business stay.

“The friendliness of the hotel staff was exceptional. The rooms were a good size. We did not have time to eat in the restaurant this time but we have before and it was very good. The bar had a nice friendly atmosphere and was always very busy. We have stayed here a couple of times and will do so again as it is very close to St Marys, University of London where our daughter is a student.” Elizabeth, Newtownabbey |
