Room was tired and grubby
Great location, clean, good breakfast.
Needs a better sign. Drove past it twice before seeing it, although that could be I'm getting old!
It was so easy to get to the directions on the web page are spot on. Staff at the hotel were very pleasant when ever we reqired anything they were happy to help.. Would recommend this hotel to my friends. It is near to all the Asian food shops and there is a local masjid with in walking distance ..
The only thing I would say the cleaning staff were not as helpful .. We had to ask for our bedsheets to be changed as there were not done everyday
- central location, close to tube station - spacious room - reactive and helpful staff - good quality wlan - lively area with lots of restaurants - splendid view of the London skyline
- expensive breakfast - water pressure was a bit low
We used the hotel as a base for our weekend in London. Well positioned for exploring Brick Lane on a Sunday.
Shower arrangement useless.
The hotel is central to the East End making Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dalston, and Spitalsfield very walkable. The staff were very welcoming and engaged.
The room was tired. The furnishings definitely past their best by date. The bathroom in particular had grime between the tiles and the fittings hadn't been cleaned properly. (Room 407) The walls are very thing which meant that I was privy to what my neighbours on both sides were saying and doing until they fell asleep.
Location and cost is great
Bad smell from the carpet at corridor Room size is small Noice at night
Location to tube
As a young family, when staying at a hotel, we expect night one noise in the hotel at a minimum. Our stay at City Hotel was terrible. We had a group of young girls next door and across the hall from us, they woke us at regular intervals during the night, shouting and laughing. We rang the hotel reception twice as our little girl was woken 3 times by the noise outside of our room. The first receptionist was quite impolite and told us it was just a group checking in and that they'd settle soon - this was 10:30 pm. On the second occasion, around 11:30, a male receptionist answered who assured us that he would ask the guests to quieten down. However, we was woken several times after this. We were concerned as we had brought our child away as a birthday treat and her f
squelchy carpet outside of bathroom door! Might have resulted from undried cleaning (did not stain the towel I covered it with). I would stay there again.
Location and friendliness of staff
The room was noisy (street noise, fans in bathroom/airco,...)
Big room and comfortable beds! Nice view! The location on Osborne street near Aldgate east underground station.
Noisy ac, we had to shut it down at night. Noisy refrigerator
Clean and tidy with plenty of room to move about in the room.
Shower not as powerful as we like but otherwise it was ok.
- Excellent, location, get wherever in a snap. - we've got a double with 2 separate beds! no need to sleep in shifts! - front facade upper rooms have a terrific skyline view of the skycrapers - CLEAN and spacious as it should be. Both of these are rare bonuses in british hotels, you know it. - there's a club (with the bouncers and all the stuff) in the hotel lobby! - did I already mention we've booked for a double room and we actually got a real double room (and not a single room pretending it's a double like elsewhere I've been staying in London)?
- i prefer showers instead of bathtubs - quite high price. But hey, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
Convenient location to crash out in East London
The room was close to a generator that kept[t going all night. Arrived too late to ask for a room change but with hindsight we should have done so even at midnight.
The location was 5 mins walk from my destination. The parking was onsite (but not included in the price of the hotel)
This hotel is NOT value for money given the state of my room. The carpet was filthy (in the places where there was carpet), the ironing board was falling apart, the facilities in the hotel were poor. I would not recommend it.
tea making supplies and bathroom supplies, room cleaned well
noisy other guests banging doors and slamming drawers to 3 am in morning and noisy street.
located minutes from underground and fantastic Indian restaurants a few steps away, this hotel ticks all the boxes on price location and friendly helpful staff.would definatly stay again
Fantastic location, close to aldgate east tube station , the road that the hotel is on is attached to brick lane, with some great Indian restaurants and vintage shops, within walking distance of tower of London. The room was very spacious , the beds were comfy , would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.
Nice hotel, ok but comfy rooms, very friendly staff, helped us as much as they could, adjoining bar next door was good
Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was clean. Good value for money on a Sunday night £80
Had Room 108 at the front of the Hotel and was very noisy. Walls very thin and could hear everything from adjoining room. Room was very old fashioned and nothing like the pictures on their web site. 9.30pm on a Sunday night and the bar was shut. Was not told about or asked if I wanted to book for breakfast
Bed amazing room had a fridge!!!!! That's crazy bathroom is amazing
Good location, great staff and comfortable rooms, fantastic value for money!
Room was a little dark and shower wasn't brilliant.
Clean and nice room, good value for money and 50m from Aldgate East station
Wifi wasn't great
