Owner very welcoming, and gave good advice on eating in the area. Décor Location
Room layout, plugs not near mirrors for hairdryer. Bulb not working in 1 bedside lamp. Lack of shelves in bathroom. Not easy to open closet door because of bed. Could not get ITV on TV tried everything.
The room was terrible, hair on pillows , unironed bed sheets, just real crummy, i wont be back.
Clean, friendly people, working tv.
Bad wifi in the rooms, low waterpressure in the shower.
Not a lot
No parking even though it states it is available. There is a sign at reception saying it is a first in best dressed basis. No wifi Staff not very friendly Bathroom so narrow we had to go in sideways.
Cheap price reflected type of stay. excellent for a stop over whilst travelling to next destination.
Room was stuffy with ceiling damaged Very tiny bathroom( kept hitting head on sloping ceiling). Has a couple of bite marks next morning.
uhmmm... the painting of a flower in the room? Private toilet unexpected
The sheets had clearly already been used by someone and not changed. We found several hair in the bed. Disgusting. The area was dodgy as hell.
pleasant staff, parking space, breakfast:)
dirty shower, canopy bed was only the bed with frame:(
We only needed somewhere to sleep as we were getting an early ferry. The sheets didn't feel clean as they were cheap polycotton so we made sure they didn't get reused by stripping the bed down and leavig them in terms shower with the used towels. The furniture in the room was of and dirty. We didn't complain at the time as we had arrived late and left before anyone was about.
The location was perfect the breakfast was a bit high priced when you can go to a cafe down the road and get one a bit cheaper room was not very clean the inside of the kettle was all scaled up only on socket in room
Went Down to see owner as the tv did not work told about lunch time she said that she would get some in an hour but we was stillwwaiting for this person all afternoon and by 1900 hour's no one still did not come so had no tv all day and went down to she her several times but no answer good job we took laptop as I had some films on it
Parking, easy to find, nice friendly people, excellent breakfast - hot and cooked especially for you
Curtains difficult to draw - one had actually come away from rail.
This Guest house is a good value stopover when using the Channel ferries. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and had all that was needed and the breakfast was excellent.
The shower took a long time to run hot (a minor problem) and the surrounding area was not very good (again a very minor consideration).
lovely host excellent location for ferries
facilities need a little up dating tv reception was poor
The girl in reception was lovely
Check isnt until four and theres nowhere to leave your bag if you arrive early.
Friendly helpful staff
needed somewhere to stay overnight before catching ferry, close to port and able to park off road, Dover centre is close for food and drinks.
area is a bit run down
Good location and ideal as a stop over before going on ferry.
The beds were fairly comfortable.
Very cramped en-suite and poor shower.
Friendly helpful staff Excellant price Freshly cooked filling breakfast
Parking on premises. Easy walk to town with view of Dover Castle nearby, just a few minutes drive, so good location. Breakfast seemed to consist of cold cereal, fruit, tea/coffee and juice, but then they showed up with a full plate of a full typical English breakfast. We were stuffed!
Our room was on the third floor (2 floors up) so was hard to carry luggage up, but I believe the rooms on the lower floor have shared bathroom. So if you are booking, this is good to know. No Internet in room but the lady did let us use the breakfast room to get online. We could not get TV to work, and I went down to ask for help because we wanted to watch the news, and no one came to check. These are small things, though.
Not a bad place to stay just old and up 4 flights of stairs walking basic but adequate but we are used to staying posher places with gyms/pools spas etc. so wont be going back
Noisy neighbours in adjoining rooms on our floor
It was close to the ferry terminal and had some off road parking
when my daughter could not get her shower to run hot she was told to let it run she eventually gave up and tried in the morning. Despite letting it run for 20 minutes she never got hot water and had to rush to catch the ferry so we did not have time to complain. Also charged the same for double not en suite as twin en suite.
Basic accommodation, landlady didn't complain when I had to get her up at 6.15 am as I had locked myself out of my room and had a ferry to catch.
The rooms had great character especially the four poster bedroom with a show fireplace and two arm chairs the lady who welcomed us made us feel at home near the port and railway and town
Waiting for water to heat up in shower but did get hot but hit in miss in morn but I'd stay here again
Stayed overnight for ferry.Lovely welcome and reasonable facilities.Good breakfast. On site parking, though tight is a bonus in this area.
Useful location in that it is close to the docks. Friendly owner. And that's pretty much it.
On a main road, and extremely limited parking. Very dated decor, with bathroom grubby with age. Paying extra for a four poster was a huge disappointment, and couldn't even make a decent cup of tea.
