lovely host excellent location for ferries
facilities need a little up dating tv reception was poor
The girl in reception was lovely
Check isnt until four and theres nowhere to leave your bag if you arrive early.
Friendly helpful staff
needed somewhere to stay overnight before catching ferry, close to port and able to park off road, Dover centre is close for food and drinks.
area is a bit run down
Good location and ideal as a stop over before going on ferry.
The beds were fairly comfortable.
Very cramped en-suite and poor shower.
Friendly helpful staff Excellant price Freshly cooked filling breakfast
Basic accommodation, landlady didn't complain when I had to get her up at 6.15 am as I had locked myself out of my room and had a ferry to catch.
The rooms had great character especially the four poster bedroom with a show fireplace and two arm chairs the lady who welcomed us made us feel at home near the port and railway and town
Waiting for water to heat up in shower but did get hot but hit in miss in morn but I'd stay here again
Stayed overnight for ferry.Lovely welcome and reasonable facilities.Good breakfast. On site parking, though tight is a bonus in this area.
Useful location in that it is close to the docks. Friendly owner. And that's pretty much it.
On a main road, and extremely limited parking. Very dated decor, with bathroom grubby with age. Paying extra for a four poster was a huge disappointment, and couldn't even make a decent cup of tea.
Very good breakfast, nice and friendly staff, comfortable bed and beautiful house!
Tv didn't work properly, room was a bit dark and when using hot water the water pressure was almost zero. We had to use cold water to get the shampoo out.
Pleasant reception from owner and well presented and ample breakfast
Lack of en-suite facilities.
The price was very reasonable for this guest house. The owner was very friendly and accommodating
We choice to skip the breakfast as it was an added fee and just brought our own food.
Friendly helpful staff, clean with lits of character
The staff was very friendly and ready to help.
There was only cold water in the shower.
Sharing a bathroom when we booked for a private one
the ease of finding Clare house, also how friendly everyone was, how helpful, the bed was very comfy, and well situated for Dover center. the food was excellent. i would not hesitate in recommending Clare house to everyone.and i will stay there in future.
no on site place to park my van, but found a good parking spot on the near by side road.
Owner and staff friendly. Not far from train, 15 mins walk to town centre.
TV difficult to get stations. Hot water slow to warm up. Internet not reaching room. Bathroom roof low for taller people like my husband. No check in before 4pm so had to wait as most places check out 10 or 11 and were only at Canterbury prior to coming.
Breakfast was great. Room clean and comfy and host very welcoming and helpful. Bed comfortable.
Water pressure in the shower was poor.
Good value for money, quite close to the ferry port.
very few TV channels, tiny and very old bathroom.
Breakfast was good, proprietor pleasant.
Area not nice, room small and not very pleasant. Bedding old.
Free parking Within walking distance of centre Price
No bathroom in room Very late check in 1970's decor
Clean tidy looking and inviting “kerb” appeal.
No end suite facilities.
Located very close to train station. There's a shop and pharmacy just next to it. Breakfast was good
Check in very late - 4 pm Check out rather early - 10 am Windows were dirty No soap or shampoo offered WiFi was very slow
