Vastly overpriced for what can be expected of a four star suite could not be truly be described as a suite and is misleadingly marketed would not consider this as a four star rating

Excellent bed, very comfortable. The staff where very pleasant and go out of their way to help the guests.

Full length dressing mirror was almost impossible to use as it was fixed to inside of wardrobe door and so you had to practically stand in the wardrobe. The lighting in the bathroom was poor again in relation to the mirror. The way the bed would move at the slightest touch, this could be solved by fitting two casters with brakes at the foot end of the bed.

Location to sea front, decor - modern. Rooms nicely decorated. Breakfast - excellent! Staff were very good & informed us they were going to clear away just in case we wanted something else.

Bathroom was a little dark but we managed. TV a little small for the room. No mirror in the bedroom.

Reception

The room was through a maze of corridors but okay. Breakfast was disappointing. Tea was warm, sausages were pasty, bacon stale and hard. Other than that...

Breakfast very good no issues there. Wi-fi in most hotels I find (stay around 45 nights a year) is miserable the best of times, actually, here it was very good, and for someone who comes from an IT background and need to keep in touch with work, I was impressed. It appears that you even end up with your own wireless router in your room so you're guaranteed a good signal. Quite accommodating, let me put a bike in their staff room which saved leaving it in the car. Bathrooms are very good, they even allow you to plug your ipod in so the music comes out in the ceiling speakers. Very comfortable bed. Very Friendly staff

Was woken up a number of nights with very loud noise from the back of the building, it appears the back faces into loading bays for other shops, and at 7am, had terrible banging that woke me up despite having ear plugs in. Was not impressed with The Lounge bar downstairs, was out of fish and chips, chicken and most puddings it seemed, leaving more exotic foods only. I asked instead to order food at the Coast restaurant next door, but it appears that the kitchen had closed early...(930pm!) very odd. If you sit in the lounge and don't like smoking, be prepared to have smoke wafting through as guests prop the door open and smoke on the hotel steps outside and the smoke blows through, pointless them going outside! Housekeeping appears haphazard, tea and coffee was not refreshed, nor was the shampoo or soap, had to go down and see reception to complain and they got someone from the restaurant up sharpish with new suppliers, although I was impressed with a lady who knocked around 7pm each night asking to “turn my room down”, resulting in a box of chocolates each night, so they were forgiven! Bathroom door banged all night, would not close – it appears that some rooms have the bottom of the door to you room cut away, enough to put your hand under which worried me, but it seems to create a draft if other people in their rooms have windows open, causing the bathroom door to keep creaking each night – fixing it heath Robinson style with jamming bed sheets between the door and frame to fix it. Outside room 302’s window there is a vent pipe to the sewers, resulting in a foul smell coming into the room each time other rooms used their toilet, resulting in not being able to use the window, which was a pain during May!

Very clean. Staff very polite and helpful. Great food. Reception area well designed and stylish. Room nicely decorated, good colours.

Finishings in the room were not great, e.g bathroom door didn't close properly and toilet roll holder kept coming off the wall. Superior double room quite small. Large office chair and desk took up much needed room. No room for a bed-side table on each side of the bed.

We liked the sea front business class room and hotel location .

The original booking of a superior suite, which was a room on the back with a wall right outside the window. Should not have been called superior. If we had not had the chance to move to the business room , we would have left the hotel.

Food was excellent. Good location for exploring the rest of the island

Were not told hotel was being refurbished which caused us some inconvenience as the builders started before 8 and as retirees we do not get up too early. Water in hot tap came through brown to begin with and the curtains did not fit the windows so it was impossible to block out the light. This is not what I would have called 4 star

Nice decor & comfortable. Good selection at breakfast and pleasant dining room. Fellow guests were respectable - I didn't see one chav!

Very warm in the room - even with radiators off and the window open all day and night. The noise of the refurbishment, streetsweepers, bin men and seagulls outside were consequently disturbing. Aim for 19-21 degrees Celcius and save the environment.

no air-con, had to ask for bigger room, breakfast juices were terrible, most of fruit was from tins very 1970's. The lift is a joke supposed to fit five people are you sure its not five hamsters. A nice stay but not anywhere near a four star hotel

Bedroom - comfortable bed and facilities. Location was very pleasant. Dinner was good value.

Bedroom too hot and noisy as the rear (R210). Hotel undergoing refurbishment so there was a certain amount of disruption. Lounge area was rather cramped and drafty with guests standing on steps to smoke.

The view from my room was of the fire escape. Initially the room I was given 211 couldn't connect to my iPad or phone, this was resolved by moving to a room more towards the front of the hotel. This was done very quickly and without fuss.

The staff are some of the most friendly and helpful in any hotel I have ever stayed in.

The improvements cause a bit of interruption but they should be over i the next few weeks. Will definitely stay here again

Unfortunately due to the renovations going on there was a bit of disturbance and no lifts working. Windows in room just looked out at brick walls which was ok for one night but wouldn't have liked it for longer.

Even though the reception was being refurbished, we had a lovely time all staff were excellent, food brilliant and well presented. very clean hotel, room was spacious with large bed and very comfortable mattress.

Our second stay and we're already looking to book again. Reception and breakfast staff very attentive and pleasent.

Severe price hike for iomtt and Southern 100, which are the 2 events we'll be coming back for.

Bad parking

The staff were supremely efficient and professional without being remotely aloof. The room in which I stayed (109: I was given a complimentary upgrade!) was really sumptuous, with a huge bathroom. Room service was prompt, and the food tasty and well presented.

Absolutely nothing: the whole experience of staying at the hotel was superb.

The room decor was excellent, much better then you would expect for the price. Breakfast was superb.

Room was too hot at night making it difficult to sleep. Warm water coming from cold water tap meant you could not cool down in an already hot room.
