Nothing of any note to dislike. Visitors to Ambleside have to manage their expectations. Yes, there is not an extravagance of parking, but this is a small village in the Lakes, not a huge city centre.
Due to Car breakdown, we actually arrived at Claremont House by taxi, before Check-in time. This wasn't a problem, with Dave and Angie organised and able to check us in. Throughout the stay they were interested in our plight, and knowledgeable in how they could help. The room given to us was excellent: we're not one to "run our fingertips, looking for dust", but you could easily see it was spotless, warm and comfortable. The bed was perfect for our needs, the en-suite tidy and Breakfast was also superb.
