Dirty room, fire hazard on stair, very late breakfast so I done without(starts at 09:30 Eh!!!) Curtain that doesn't cover window, place was smelly,it was very overpriced at £45 a night, who gave this place a Star never mind 3!! Shocking, poor, amateurish, rip off
staff were very good. food was good nice to have a drink at the bar
as it said there would be a degree of noise as party were held there..we went to bed early as we travelled 5 hours and I start work at 5am.the dj started playing at 8 oclock, the walls were bouncing with the sound of the music plalyed for the party..that didn't stop till 1am.realy up set by this,as I had my 73 year old mom with me tv was very small in room. tv reciever was hanging under the tv by plastic coat hanger..if I could have.i would have gone to another b and b..wouldn't be going there again
Breakfast was good, well cooked and well presented
Badly in need of refurbishment.
Especially the price. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast
Staff very pleasant. Location good. Good value for money.
Slightly tired room decor.
Location for Ryder Cup
Tired room. Noisy room over entrance.
Breakfast . good
Needs some decoration to hotel
The staff, very friendly.
The room was filthy, there was cobwebs all over the window and curtains. There was dust everywhere which meant a long night as we are both allergic to dust. The bed sheets were clean however the bed was lumpy, the pillows were hard and lumpy. The bathroom was clean but dated. The food was horrendous, the black pudding was like rubber. The staff were lovely.
The staff were very helpful and eager to assist me as I am disabled. They were very keen to ensure I had help with my luggage and four wheeled walking frame.
There were no facilities for disabled guests. I found it difficult as there was no lift, I had to climb two flights of stairs with just my walking stick and walk along a slope before reaching my room. I also had nothing to hold onto whilst I had a shower.
We parked easily and were shown to a large well equipped room and I was able to make a cup of tea straight away. The town was a 10 minute stroll and we had a drink in a friendly pub and a delicious Italian meal in BarAldos. We enjoyed our full English/Scottish breakfast served by the amiable Ryan. The journey from the wedding venue at Solsgirth House only cost £15 in Mick's Taxis. Overall we felt it was good value for money.
Ok so it wasn't perfect. Stains on the carpet, dated decor etc. but it was very reasonable with clean bedding and towels and friendly staff who worked hard.I think we got the best room as others looked much smaller.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
It was clean.
Curtains didn't fit the windows. I had room 7, it was on the newer part of the property with a flat roof, so the noise from the road was disturbing. The bed was old and creaky. I arrived after a 10hr journey to be told that the Restaurant closed at 8.00pm. I was told by staff that I could phone for a takeaway or drive into town. At the first sight of the plastic Topiary balls I should have turned round and found somewhere else.
Food is fantastic, slept very well, great value for money
That I'm not going up to Scotland for a month, will be staying here again
Only stayed 1 night. Large spacious room. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Would stay again if I was in the area.
The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good.
The water pressure! the shower was not good but there is little that can be done about this.
The staff was very helpful. We had to leave early before the full breakfast to go to edinburgh airport, but a very nice young man was there early to make us toast and set out a lovely assortment of cereal, etc
It is a very old, tired hotel, on a very busy road. It had a huge flight of stairs we had to drag our luggage up to get to our room. The hall was very noisy with people coming and going. Maybe because it was a Friday night?
The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good. Plenty of car parking
I would like to have a plug in the bathroom sink. Bed was ok but had an aching back after a nights sleep. Sound insulation between rooms not the best.
Friendly staff and made you feel like part of the community. Not central to activities but glad we stayed there and really not that far to Falkirk.
Decor could do with a spruce up. Felt sorry for receptionist working in such a dark confined office space. Not very inviting we walked straight past it
The breakfast was very good. Inside, the architecture of the entrance hall has some beautiful old features.
The room needed renovation, new wallpaper, and the television did not work.
I was very disappointed with the burger I had for dinner. I felt the staff were overworked, doing too many jobs at once.
food was good, staff friendly and helpful
I booked 2 rooms, my parents travelled with my daughter and I, their room was lovely; large, lovely furniture, big bay window, clean and tidy (carpet needed changing) where as the room (room 8) we had was small, old fashioned and a bit run down; marks on the wall, old furniture and the en suite had black mould patches on the ceiling-no fan in the en suite. however, based on the other room, I would say go to the hotel, but not room 8-it cost the same as my parents...
Fantastic restaurant in Alloa called Bar Alfroda
Our friends room had two single beds no walldrobe just a hanging rail wall paper peeling, if my husband had been shown this room he would not have stayed our room had stains on the carpet bathroom shower was tiny and dirty.
Nothing staff friendly
Poor decoration (scruffy). No lock on bathroom door. Bed moved every time I sat on it. No where to put anything on the side. Wires hanging from TV and extensions all hanging. No sleep as live music below thump thump thump all night until 1am. Not good for tired travellers with a long journey the next day. On booking you should be sent an email informing you of live music so that you can cancel if it does not suit you. Could only open one window the other would not open. Bathroom door did not shut.I would never stay here again.
Friendly Staff Good Breakfast and evening meal
Seen better days but okay
