The staff on the whole were very good The room we had was ok but we could hear every word that was said from recpetion and the reception area even when our door was locked. Also there was a neighbourhood dog that barked continuosly for 2 days keeping us awake. As did the gravel carpark untill around 3 in the morning with people coming and going. We had no hot water for 24 hours and were told a load of rubbish about other rooms using our water when in fact there was a problem with the plumbing. We had to switch rooms for our last night all very inconvinient as my wife is very ill. We were not offered any compensation at all for this. The food is very pricey and when we ate there we were forgotten about as they has a ladies night on and our meals came out wrong then couldnt get a waitress to help it was a nightmare really. We only ate there again our last night as we were to tired by then to go out.

This was a very nice hotel with extreamely nice staff who went out of their way to help. The general decor was fine if a little dated. The room and the other areas that we used were clean and tidy. There was a warm intimate feel about the place. As we were staying at the hotel on business, we didn't get a chance to sample the food but hearing the comments of those that did, made it sound very nice. It's a little expensive. I'm glad we only paid £50 for this room, I believe they usually charge £110 per night! (though I think this would include breakfast) which for us would have been around £16 each for a pretty standard brekkie. Upon returning late in the evening we paid £9 for 2 glasses of a 'cheap' red wine. We were also suprised to find they didn't stock crisps or nuts etc behind their bar. The barman did however go and find us a small saucer of curry roasted nuts from somewhere. The room was quite draughty (there was a 2cm gap under the door that could have used a draught excluder) and as a result was quite cold during the night (though it was very windy outside) Also, the bathroom fittings were old, dated and slightly faulty the bathtap was dripping, the washer was about to fail on the basin taps (which took ages to heat) and the toilet had a poor flush.

Lovely, friendly staff and the restaurant is superb - it looks so beautiful and the food is great. Luxury feel eg bedding, curtains, toiletries in the bedroom. Maybe could have an internet machine for guests to use. Walls a wee bit thin - could hear next door's alarm going off but didn't put me off the hotel, and I would happily stay there again.

There is no worm water on the sink in your room. Moreover, the centraal heating is turned of and will only be turned on for a few hours if you are asking for it.

staff very welcoming and attentive beautifully decorated and furnished room wih free wi fi cleanliness 100% beautiful grounds and gardens excellent parking facilities no heating in room which became chilly in evening, particularly when water not hot enough for a bath. I enjoyed the surprise at the unexpected high standard of the comfort and family centred feel of the spacious sitting rooms and the abundance of chinoiserie, pictures and other attractive ornaments. The same could be said for our bedroom, elegant comfort. I didn't brave the rain as did my friend's but I was told the gardens were lovely. But thr most credit goes to the excellent staff -in all ares.

The staff were friendly and attentive without being over-the-top. The dinner, main course (the only course I had) was beautifully cooked and served; every meat and vegetable was delicious. The gardens would have been a joy to walk if only the rain had stopped!
