Really had to think so Being petty , could have put a dog bed and bowl in room.?
Rooms were a good size , comfy clean beds. Powerful shower! Nice comfy cot with lovely blankets. Arranged my sons stuff on his bed for the second night lovely , lovely kind touch!
being able to listen to the sea in bed
Bed is shocking Wet room/ bathroom was useless
We booked the room for 3 people, but housekeeping had prepared for 2! So no towels, soap or bottled water for the third person. Reception kindly brought over towels. Dirty coffee cups had been left in the sink with dirty water. NOT AMUSED by the animal hairs on both bottom sheets of both beds!! People with pets will let them in/on the bed (or sleep in the linen cupboard?!) regardless of what is said, so we seriously suggest you change your pet-friendly status! Definitely change your housekeeper! Wifi intermittent. Fan in bathroom kept going for an hour after turning the light off - not conducive to a good nights sleep - maybe you could adjust the setting?
See view. Light airy @flatlet', high ceiling, plainly and pleasantly decorated. Clean bed-sitting room, kitchen and bathroom with a decent sized shower, adequate facilities, pleasant surroundings. Reception staff handled complaint well and assured us housekeeping would be alerted to the grossness of animal hairs in the bed and dirty cups in the sink.
No bad points
This was a really nice hotel with a great family room (no.121) with a balcony which we didn't expect! It was clean and tidy so have no complaints. Enjoyed the break and would stay there again.
Felt it needed updating decoration wise was a bit shabby
A lot bigger than expected was a perfect base for us as a family will defo go again!
Decor of room needs updating.
Friendly and helpful staff and great location. Adequate breakfast.
room was a bit small and shower didn't get hot, wanted to book dinner and we told we could, when asked for a menu at 7 pm was told dinner had stopped being served as dinner was from 630 pm to 7 pm
Nothing all good
Lovely stay with family large spacious clean tidy lovely kitchen beds towels all clean highly recommend stay will be back thanks for all your hospitality
I am 6.ft3 not exceptionally tall but the be was about 5.9 also nowhere did I read on your site or there about parking. there is no car park near the hotel.there is free parking directly infront of the hotel for about four cars they are permanently full day and night..
the location is very good
There wasn't anything that we didn't like
How close it was to the beach and town
A bit noisy when coaches draw up outside for pick-ups and drop-offs.
Superb views across south Beach to Caldy Island. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean. Bar drinks are attractively priced. Floors and walls are not straight or level, being an old grade 2 listed building. Interesting plumbing, I'm sure a plumber would get some good ideas to use !
Noisy during the early part of night 11 to 1am
Location. Excellent staff. Location
Room two small TV two high on wall could not swing a cat in it .
Lovely bar staff very nice and help full .
The hotel felt as if it was stuck in the 1970's quite a dated feel, and the bed was a quite uncomfortable, seemed quite old. The cubby hole shower room with a concertina door was also an experience. I suppose as a listed building there is only so much that can be done, but definite room for improvement.
The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our lively German Shepherd was made incredibly welcome. The location and the view from the front of the hotel were excellent, A 3 course meal for £12.00 not bad, and food was quite nice, and the service was phenomenal. Set menu, so slightly industrial due to accommodating coach parties, but good for the price.. Free WIFI was a bonus.
The mattress on the fold down bed was uncomfortable. With a comfortable mattress our stay would have been absolutely perfect.
The view from the room and the layout of the room were fantastic.
Price was too much considering how basic the room was. The room itself had 2 single beds, which was not ideal as we are a couple and prefer to sleep together. Staff on arrival did not seem to be happy with us staying there, and were very bigoted and miserable.
Location in town is excellent.
Booked online into "The Clarence Hotel". At check-in, we were informed that we were actually booked into the "annex" across the street ("Carnock House"), which did not have the upper floor we requested. To stay in the "Clarence House" would "be much more dear!" (more than 2x the price). The room was recently renovated, but the floor would give way in some spots and the hallway to the mainfloor room stunk badly of must and perfume. In the recycle bin in the hallway was 3 containers of carpet powder treatment. The room was small for the furnishings and required re-arranging in order to use the fold-out couch. There were no flat surfaces upon which to set suitcases decently. Kitchenette was good, but no dish soap was supplied. After maid service day 1, we noted that the dirty dishes had been rinsed and put away yet dirty, which made us very apprehensive about using any of the dishes or utensils without first washing them. To be fair, renovations were occurring in the foyer and room next door, so it does seem they are trying to improve, but the bait 'n switch is distasteful (and illegal in my country!).
View of the sea, south side.

Location of hotel and good welcome and comfort
The bathrooms are minuscule. Basically a cupboard with a toilet and a weak shower. The windows let in air even when shut. I had to ask if the door could be locked from the inside as it isn't made obvious that you have to lock the outside then shut the door. The tea and coffee were vile. It was the cheapest hotel around, but even so for the money it could be a bit better.
The bed was comfortable, however it was two singles pushed together. Excellent location
When we arrived was told we wasn't in the hotel we booked we was across the road then was shown to the attic room which was full of pain pots and dust sheets when we got to the right room there was dirty cups there and dirty towels !!!!!
