Excellent breakfast.Choice of breakfast cooked to order and fresh fruit and pastries too. Excellent shower . Pleasant staff.
The bed was a double, but 2 single beds joined together? all I know is when I awoke my back was aching and had to buy pain killers to get through the day. If I was staying longer I would have changed rooms.
Spacious family room Very comfortable Free wifi (that worked!) Close to racecourse Close to restaurants Excellent breakfast
Easy to find. Comfortable bed
Very steep steps in. Chaotic breakfast service. Dirty room. Booked Superior room but nothing like the picture on the website. Smallest shower room I have ever come across, couldn't have towel rail on as you burn your legs. No dressing mirror in the bedroom. Found half eaten food in two places and hairs in the bathroom. All in all not one of our best stays. We usually stay in hotels every other week and this is by far the worst review I have ever given.
We had a massive room, with lovely furniture and an impressive modern bathroom. Set in an amazing location within a short walk of town centre and the parks etc to the north. Would definitely recommend.
Lobby and some other areas look slightly old fashioned in my view, but that's just a matter of opinion from someone with modern tastes - overall a very positive experience.
The location was great and parking was easy...no parallel parking needed here (that is important to me). Good water pressure. Cute room and bathroom.
Perfect location to explore the Cotswolds. Very friendly owners and staff. Nice comfortable room with great shower. Great food. Would definitely stay at Clarence Court hotel again
Loved it all. Large rooms, perfect location, super staff.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was generous and tasty.
Big puddles in the car park. Room was recently re-decorated (good), but quality of finish was poor
On the whole the staff were very friendly and helpful. As a lone traveller this was most reassuring.
Parking Relaxed atmosphere Friendliness of people
room was comfortable, good breakfast, polite staff.location excellent nr town centre.reasonable price. loved the little touches too.
if your not aware no lift. we were lucky as our room was on ground floor but I would have found it hard without one.
Welcoming staff and quirky and pleasantly decorated hotel offering great value in a superb location.
Car park a little tight for larger cars and swimming pool not available for children.
The hotel is what we expected, traditionally run, with excellent staff and a breakfast that meant we didn’t even want lunch, will defiantly be staying again
Nothing to complain about.
Food delicious staff very friendly and rooms clean
Further away from centre of town
Excellent staff, very warm welcome couldnt do enough for you. Walking distance to town. Breakfast in morning was very good and a wide choice .
We arrived at 6.30pm after nearly 4 hrs of driving and were very Hungary but their restaurant didnt open until 8pm so we had to walk into town which is a pity because the restaurant looked great.
The breakfasts were delicious and well prepared. We particularly liked that we could get our own coffee right away wiithout waiting for the waitress.
i think the lack of an elevator is a draw-back.
Hotel in a quiet square within walking distance of town attractions. Reasonable free private parking. Good food at breakfast and dinner. Spacious room (14) with sofa and chairs.
No lift, several flights of stairs to negotiate. Room 14: toilet cistern leaks into bowl, so continually refills during the night. No shelves in bathroom. One spot in shower needs repositioning. (May all be fixed now).
Staff friendly, helpful and good fun - making a lovely atmosphere. The food in Joules and the breakfast = v good. Shops 10 min walk away. Free parking at hotel. I would certainly use this great little find again
Decor a bit sad we were on top floor and fire exit was through another bedroom and we were not told how this worked as obviously the person with that room would have had it locked.
great all round. great location and good value
Free parking, evening meals were very good.
First days breakfast was excellent second days was very poor.
Great room, decent sized TV, breakfast.
Waitress was nice but amateurish.
The staffs are friendly, helpful and kind. We also tried the restaurant and it was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast is also excellent, with various choice of continental and full-quality English breakfast. Location is quite close to the city centre (10-15 mins walk) especially close to the Brewery centre which has a gym and numerous restaurants.
The hotel does not really meet the 4 stars standard as it claims on this website. It is rather a small hotel, I could say just about 3 stars. We booked a small double room which included breakfast, around £94 per day on two weekdays (not even weekend). We had expected the room was a bit more comfortable and luxurious...However as it turns out the room is really really small, it is difficult to even move around. And the bed was a small double bed, not even as big as the bed at a low priced B&B. The furnitures are mix of conveniently cheap modern styles, which don't really match with the overall theme of the hotel. I didn't have a good sleep in my small double room, after all. In my opinion I would not pay that much for the same room again.
Our room was over and adjacent to the flat room of the kitchen area. This was a leisure break, and we were awoken by the kitchen noises (not admittedly excessive) long before 7 each morning. Breakfast was served between 7 and 9 during the week, so I can see where this is coming from. However, on a leisure break, I would have preferred a later breakfast, and not to have been awoken before 7.
