This hotel has plenty of potential. It is a lovely building which would benefit from a little tlc but obviously this takes time. Ideal position for walking into the centre where there are good shops and restaurants. Very good breakfast. Heating needs looking at. We had 3 rooms booked. 1 was cold, 1 was very hot and 1 was just right! |

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have liked to stay longer. It was my son's graduation and I wish we had found the Carence Court before we will be back. The room was lovely with the finishing touch of the room guard. Staff very pleasant and helpful and the bar was very comfortable without the usual ridiculous hotel prices. |

friendly and helpful staff, good food, off road parking, relaxing atmosphere, great value for money only that our room was quite hot and it sounded like there was a boiler or something similar close to our room creating some noise in the early morning, not unacceptably loud though. |

The bar and generally the staff were very friendly. Generally the overall impression of the hotel is it needs serious redecoration, on the internet it claims to be 4star, I would say it is only 2 star. The staff were generally good however one person was very rude at breakfast on 2 of our days. |

We were given a fabulous room which was upgraded for no extra charge. The staff were always cheerful and helpful, nothing too much trouble. The food was lovely from the brilliant breakfasts to the delicious evening meals. We honestly could not fault the hotel. |

The staff was very friendly and personable. The food downstairs was convenient and very good. The atmosphere of the hotel was very appealing...simple, yet nice. The breakfast was great too! The dishes within the rooms could have been replaced daily, as they were dirty every day. |

It was cosy and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were well cooked. It had an air of 'gentle neglect' and could probably do with a little redecorating in places. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the location was good. The room was above the bar/restaurant and was noisy due to music being played till late. |

The Hotel was well decorated if dated. It was very hmely and welcoming. The room was very spacious and well kept. The furniture was not regimented which gave it a more personal feel. The breakfast was of very poor quality. I oedered thefull english and found it very badly cooked. It didn't however detract from the pleasurable stay at the hotel. |

The hotel is placed in a quiet residential area and is convenient for walking into the town. The Staff were very friendly and helpful when serving or dealing with other requests. I don't think there was a functional lift and there are quite alot of stairs to be climbed if you were on the third floor as we were, not a problem for the able but it could be for some older or less able people. |

The staff were very friendly & courteous and couldn't do enough to help. They made us feel very welcome...it was our first time travelling with our 19 month old son and we really appreciated the level of care they took. The hotel was a most attractive building and the decor was well-done. The hotel had a luxurious feel. A few stains on the bedroom carpet, but other than that everything was superb. |

Perfect location for Chelmsford town, shopping and nightlife. The hotel provide a key for the front door so you can let yourself in if you go out till early hours...Hotel was so pretty outside and inside, the room was modern and clean. Parking is free. The complimentry breakfast was lovely, a choice of 3 hot meals inc full english, also a buffet of continental breakfast. |

the staff were very accomodating, the room was big but quite shabby with stains on the carpets. the only outside area to sit outside of the hotel was in the street at the front, not relaxing |
