The location the cleanliness and the quality of facilities
The lack of staff on hand they seemed to be flitting from one hotel to another. There was a small issue re understanding us.A possible language barrier!
The new hotel was very pleasant, albeit in an area , no where near where we wanted to be. They did upgrade the room and gave us free breakfast.
The fact that upon arrival, we were told that they were moving us to a different hotel, due to some fault? The new hotel was in an unfamiliar area, not near the British Museum which we wanted to visit. The taxi(which was supposed to arrive in 10 mins) took 45 mins to arrive and then we were stuck in traffic for another half an hour. As we were only there for 24 hours, this severely ruined what we could do with the time left on our afternoon there. It became rather a waste of time really.
Ambience and comfort
Could not fault it in any way.
Location, clean, no noise.
Small bathroom and difficult to get in and out of the bath.
Huge rooms - we were 'upgraded' to sister hotel, The Portland, a couple of doors town the street. Very large rooms - unexpectedly so. Kitchenette facilities (concealed in cupboard) with microwave - eating out so did not use. Quiet area.
Bit low on atmosphere, think the Clarendon may have had a bit more as had dining room and probably a bar.
Location and comfort.
Good location but if the window was open, the only way to get some fresh air! ,it was very noisy.
It is outrageousness not to have free WiFi at a Central London hotel. Travellers rely on their WiFi access for many things these days.To charge a lot for access is just not good enough. Also, The price asked for breakfast ensured that we ate it elsewhere, maybe this was the intention.
The location was central yet quiet. We were upgraded to an executive room at the Beauchamp Hotel which made our stay very comfortable.
The shower system which was difficult to work.
No hairdryer in bathroom. ..was in stuck in desk draw making it impossible to dry your hair. Full lenghth mirror had the bed in front of it. Why?? Small room..opened up two suitcases and couldnt move.Dust behind bathroom door. No bar fridge or air con. Hot stuffy even with window open. This would be a 2 star hotel in oz.
Fab size room and bed . Superb bathroom, but side of bath very high if you're not tall !
Rooms have a very " masculine" feel with all the brown furnishings. A softer item or two would be welcome Carpet looks a bit tired, and some wallpaper coming away in my room. Also netted curtains dirty on edges. Could do with a re-vamp. For that price and location, details could be better ( nicer biscuits with tea as well! ) Expensive breakfast ( not taken for that reason)
Location close to shopping (easy walking distance) and excellent for British Museum. On arrival we were told that we had a free room upgrade to sister hotel - no problems as was right next door and just the same type of building! Bedroom and bed were both huge, with sofa and "kitchenette" area in the room. Quiet street so good sleep.
Had to return next door to sister hotel for breakfast; although breakfast was excellent we had to wait 15 mins for a table as breakfast room very small.
Good position Helpful staff Clean
Great location with easy access by tub or busses around London
A room is relatively small and breakfast overpriced
Good location, spacious room.Executive double with sofa.
Rooms in the basement are quite dark and humid. For the price charged , not too god price/quality ratio.
actually we also had an upgrade to a better room but everything was great, I advice Clarendon without any doubt
The room was large and the bed comfortable, good bathroom.
The room was very hot and did not have air conditioning. Breakfast was not included and they charged £23 per person per Davy, we ate elsewhere. It turned out to be a very expensive 2 nights !!!!
As I arrived , the room is upgraded to really bigger one, I am really surprised . Feel that service is really good.
I asked for a quiet room as I never sleep well away from home. I had room No5, high ceilings, beautiful big windows onto a garden scenery. Probably the quietest room i've ever stayed in. It was a very hot day and the staff got me a fan and they we're extremely nice. It was fantastic value. Would definitely stay there again!
Breakfast was far too expensive! Starbucks is just around the corner which helps.
Location and the size of the room
No air conditioning
Large room in a great location. Manager responded very. Professionally to a minor problem caused by previous guest,
We stayed in a lower ground floor room which was generally very good except when guests and staff accessed dining room for breakfast- noisy floorboards.
The room was spacious with very nice looking furniture and in very good condition. A cozy feel. Quiet, could sleep with window open. The outer door being locked and getting in only by buzzing a bell (i.e., good for safety).
We were very satisfied with this hotel - clean, comfortable, good location, friendly staff
The location , the very accommodating and friendly staff.
How noisy the room was until the bar and kitchen closed!
Great location, I really like Bloomsbury, its very handy for transport, entertainment, culture, eating out and shopping. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our spacious room was very comfortable, with a good bathroom.
It was very hot whilst we were there and there was no air conditioning. However the staff were able to furnish us with ice on demand and a fan.
