Room OK but not as luxurious and well decorated as The Dorchester. We thought Gordon's Ramsay's at Claridges was very ordinary food at exhorbitant prices. Our lunch cost £200.00 and we only had one drink each. This would have been fine if it had been a spectacular meal but we have had much better locally here in Derbyshire. On Sunday morning we wanted a very light breakfast because we had booked lunch elsewhere. We had a fruit juice coffee, berries and yoghurt. The cost for this was £69.00. That's right £69.00!!!!!! A total rip off.

I stretch my wallet every time to stay at claridges in london. There are obviously hundreds of hotels to stay in london in a variety of sections, I actually hadn't been back to London in several years until the past 2 years,at which Point I asked several friends and colleagues , who go there fairly often for film production, other business , visiting family( but not wanting to stay with family) and generally just exploring around the city.additionally I crisscrossed several references Such as Conde Nast, trip advisor and other sites like kayak. I then narrowed it down To location and current reviews and websites.some pointed to the Milestone, or Dorchester, but most pointed me to the direction of claridges. I am very particular in nature and find staff, rooms, food and management of the hotel to be a+. My comment here is not about Claridges, but about the pound vs the usd. The only thing I don't like about the hotel is the cost. Because of the weak dollar Compared to the pound, Claridges tends to be high.if I were living there , I don't Believe I would think so.However to put it into better context Hotels around the world, Especially in Cities like New York,Boston, D.C. and San Francisco as well as Miami Have all risen in price.A Very average cost for a very Average Hotel in any of those Cities tend to start off high. That is the nature of the beast. You only have one life and therefore you may enjoy yourself while you can. If that means spending a little more then ou care to, then go to Claridges.

I have stayed at Claridges a few times now and it is my hotel of choice when I am visiting London. The staff, customer service and general quality of the hotel is fairly unbeatable by London standards, the building breathtaking and impeccable. When my husband and I stay in a different London hotel we always find ourselves saying "Claridges do it better....". Whilst more modern hotels can be fun, they tend to be style over substance and there is much to be said for good old fashioned customer service and old school glamour. The price and the fact that I have to leave.

What an amazingly beautiful hotel. Art deco detailing all over the building and inside room Staff were beyond helpful and polite Only stayed for one night as we were leaving for new york early the next morning. What a shame we were devasted to be leaving so soon, Perfection from beginning to end, beautiful lobby, amazing room with the most comfortable bed I haver ever slept in!! Got a complimentary room upgrade from staff which was a lovely gesture. Turndown service in room when we returned from a meal at 10pm

It was an experience that I would definitely do again, however,a nice brew first thing in the morning is always good. You have to include that in room service if you want tea/coffee making in your room.At cheaper hotels you take it for granted, but there, it is another way of making more money out of you.We did not have breakfast, but I asked for a kettle and two cups and teabags, never even got the milk!!! So Claridges, please could we see this? I paid a lot of money for us to stay there, surely a cuppa in the room,is not much too much to ask for?
