Very welcoming staff on arrival, upgrade to a suite which was a nice unexpected surprise. Spa/sauna easy to access, very informal. Free newspapers, good breakfast although maybe a little expensive, especially if you don't order the night before. We were attending a local wedding but hotel is ideally situated for countryside walks etc. Nearby Whalley (1.5 miles easy walk away) is a lively town with many pubs/restaurants. A very pleasant stay.

We have stayed at the Foxfields quite a few times and decided this time to ask for another room, as the room we are normally given was a bit tired and needs updating. We were given a room on the first floor in the main building, which was a pleasant surprise, as it had a separete lounge and bedroom and considering the price we paid was excellent value for money. I think it was almost half the usual price, although it didn't include breakfast which didn't worry us as we ate out. We will definitely stay at this hotel again, especially for the price we paid. The only comment I would make would be about the outside balcony, it was very run down and the guttering was leaking constantly due to the rain, and needs looking at. We stayed in room 213, we did tell the reception and the girl said she would get maintenance to look at it.

Very good location as a stop over on our way up to the Lake District. Having a lounge with a seperate bedroom was a real bonus along with the large ensuite bathroom. The leisure facilities too a bonus to relax after our long journey. Breakfast cooked to order and plenty of choice. Would stay again if visiting this area again.

The staff were very friendly. Service in the restuarant was slow and breakfast was inedible. The changing room at the pool was dirty, dark and not enough showers. There was a broken tile laid on a piece of cardboard on the floor. There were other cracked tiles. The carpets in the hotel smelled musty, plug in scents nearly disguised it, but made it hard to breathe. The bathroom was dirty, especially the base of the shower door. I trod a piece of glass but I ahd not dropped anything.i was not hurt.

the room was huge which is a sometimes a problem for me as a claustrophobic the restaurant was empty and therefoe it was silent and I felt uncomfortable - a little 'background music' migh have eased the tension.

Very spacious rooms (suites). Excellent food. For such wonderful accomodation a mini bar would have been appropriate. The single beds a little small for me.

Exccellent value for money . The Rooms decor is a wee bit dated but we had a double suite with a large living , bed and bathroom . The room was very clean and comfortable all for forty four pound with leisure facilities m Having booked it for closeness to the brillant Northcote Manor it is definitely a place we would go back to .

We were over whelmbed by the room they upgarded us to Premier suite, OMG it was amazing, living room , bedroom , bathroom with both showe and bath and seperate toilet. The hotel was extremly spacious and clean and very friendly. Just needs a upgrade to the rooms, slightly dated and some TLC needed to the rooms , but as a budget hotel it is fine, but if you had the full price to pay I would have been upset.

Good location, huge rooms,( I had a junior suite). Spotless, quality fittings.. 2 T.v's, loveley bathroom. As it's a little away from the town, I felt abliged to eat in, however the restaurant is superb, and the food well cooked. The leisure facilities are a little dated but well worth trying out. For £44 how can travelodge/premier lodge compete? When booking in I was told breakfast was £8, however, after partaking, I found it was £13.95.... continental was £8! a bit pricey I think, no wonder I was the only one in there! Having said that, the bacon, sausage, egg was delicious.... And I stay out at least twice a week.

Close to the m6. Very friendly, helpful Staff, who assisted me when my Sat Nav went wrong! I arrived too late for a meal, but was offered a nice sandwich. The room was nice and big and had a very comfortable bed. The bath wasnt very tempting and the shower didnt have adjustments, so the water was too hot for a shower. I paid for a double room, but had to pay an additional £10 for my dog. I think that breakfast should be included in the price.

The bed was very comfortable and room spacious but it was filthy The room was filthy. There wasn't any soap or loo roll in the room & there was only 1 teabag, 2 sachets of coffee & 1 sugar - very poor & despite asking twice not rectified by staff. The booking clearly stated smoking or balcony (after being recommended this hotel as a 'smoker- friendly hotel' in 3 places & I was allocated neither. I had to make a fuss to get it changed and they were extremely reluctant

Helpful staff and breakfgast was OK. Room was smokey but I refused offer to move. Curtins did not close properly but housekeeing knew this but had not fixed this. No paper arrived and one morning I was not asked whether I wanted tea or coffee for breakfast. Second day was all OK. Got the value I paid for but would have been annoyed if I had paid full price.

I booked the hotel for the wrong date on the internet; not sure how I did that? I had booked it for 2/10/11 and turned up at 9pm on 7/9/11. The wonderful lady on reception (Lesley) sorted everything out for me and changed the whole booking that evening with Booking.com who were also fantastic. No extra charges. The only problem was that food stoppped serving at 9pm when I had arrived, but the lady on reception ordered the kitchen to make me a sandwich which was great. I was really panicked when I arrived (being a lady on my own), but the receptionist put me at ease and treated me very well. Also thanks to booking.com for not kicking up a stink for the changed booking. :)

Found this hotel on Booking.com and it was excellent value for money, clean and the location was very handy for a wedding we went to at Whalley Abbey, which was just 1.5 miles away with some lovely views along the way. Definitely recommend it. The breakfast was a little pricey so didn't partake, but might have been a nice end to the stay if it was a little cheaper like the room. Definitely would stay here again though!
