Changed room on 2nd night, to another. Much better room with improved.
Sink area small
The position of hotel, the excellent spa facilities available. it was quiet, near to good motorway/rail links. Staff very approachable and professional. clean
I was disappointed in that I requested a banner to be placed in room, they even contacted me to state didn't have the requested wine, but but ensure room decorated. needless to say not done.
All staff very good. Hotel had strong antiseptic type smell all the time which was a bit off-putting. But overall the hotel is good, comfortable and suited my needs and I would stay again.
No hooks back of bathroom door in Ambassador room. Would have liked more comprehensive tea making tray. No shelving in shower/bath area for toiletries. Pricing a bit high.
Room lovely and bed comfy. staff excellent and went out of their way to do anything.
Queuing on check in as wedding party around and they had lots of queries plus answering phones. Shame the restaurant did not open slightly earlier as we had to eat in the bar which was nice but not exceptional.
Clean, friendly, quiet
Pricey food and drinks
Lovely clean hotel, staff very helpful, bedrooms nice and comfortable for what we required. Good location in Basingstoke, nice pool area.
The hotel was good The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was quiet and we had a comfortable stay.
The hotel was lovely and clean and a few staff where very friendly
Some of the staff where not sure what they where doing
Overall good value for money, the food was excellent, although rather slow with breakfast buffet.
The room was very stuffy, there was a distinct musty smell to the bed clothes. Sheets were clean but duvet was not. Also the sink was blocked so had to use the bath to brush my teeth!!!
Loved that the swimming pool was open till late, the bed was really comfortable and shower was brilliant !
Didn't like that there wasn't a fridge in the room
Lovely ambience, very clean, good spa facility and friendly staff. Had a nice time.
Staff were pleasant
Old rooms , nasty sticky carpet , stale smell . Hasn't been done out in years
Service, nice meals
Hotel and main facilities
After staying in the hotel I had a severe bout of food poisoning.
excellent bed / sleep. Facilities - tea making / swimmimng Pool / bar
water leak from ceiling in 3rd floor corridor - but understand this was just unfortunate on the night of our stay.
Lovely room, very clean, comfortable bed, great facilities, helpful receptionist, booking in and out was quick and easy.
The room was very warm and couldnt find how to turn the heating down/put ir conditioning on. The service in the bar was very slow and the drinks were quite expensive.
Convenient to major roads. Good for an overnight stop.
The front desk staff were very professional, helpful and smart. Rooms were spacious with all luxury items. In the restaurant, food and staff were very good. Good value for money - recommended.
Bar/Restaurant very good Staff very helpful
Rooms looking tired, and VERY small.
spa was ok
dated, scruffy carpets, overpriced and terrible overpriced and poor delivery of room service menu
I liked the cosy double room I shared with my eldest daughter. It was inviting an ideally situated at the back of the hotel. Our room overlooked a green lawn which was nicely kepted. It was very peaceful know sound of traffic. The room was very clean and the bed had a very good matteress. The tea & coffee in room was very good. The facilities at the Apollo were very good. I swam in the pool each day & used the Steam & jacuzzi which was excellent. Top marks all round!!
Apollo has good complimentary facilities - swimming pool, dry and steam saunas, hot tub. There are two breakfast options: continental buffet and full English Definitely recommend the latter – it kept us going until late afternoon.
Stupid rules regarding the hot tube and saunas - not children under 16 allowed. Why? When I asked for an extra duvet I got it, but without any cover.
The staff were easy to talk to and very friendly and welcoming.
the toilet flusher was broken and you had to keep trying to flush the toilet. The extractor fan in the bathroom was not working which meant that the room was all steamed up whenever the shower was used. The bin in the bathroom was also broken. Definitley not a 4 star rating.
Ran out of buffet regularly had to wait for it to be refilled. Could have had more staff on to deal with this.
Nice Bar and good swimming pool. Enough parking spaces for cars available. Staff are friendly.
The interior of the room was no longer fashionable. We didn't dare to walk around barefoot in the room as it didn't seem to be very tidy. Innthe bathtub hair could be found. The breakfast was a total mess. Absolutely unorganized staff and shortage of everything! We needed to ask for everything as nothing was on the buffet... When we stayed in the same hotel 2 years ago everything was perfect. What a shame they have come down that much.
