Nice clean hotel and room. 1- Room could do with redecorating. 2- Very noisy people in neighbouring room (probably above or below our room) who got to their room at 1am and were talking very loudly and shouting until 5am.

Quick and efficient check-in/ check-out. Great shower. Superior double? I'd hate to sleep in one of their regular ones!!The bed was far too small - not a proper double, so we spent the night perched on the edge of the mattress, each trying not to fall out! There were no extra pillows in the room (as we found out when we went to bed) and the ones on the bed were very thin and low quality. The room was also very 'pokey' compared to a recent Travelodge stay (Staines).

Reception area, bars and restaurants all very comfortable with pleasant decor. Room on the small side. Grime build up around bath handrail and under toilet rim. Extractor fan did not work. Very crowded and noisy in reception areas - 2 weddings and 2 coach parties between 4..30 - 8pm. Service impersonal and rude. Refused hot drink 11.30pm on Saturday night which we would have had with a brandy to finish our evening . Crowded entrance (only one entrance) where smokers congregated and impeded other visitors.

We chose the Apollo as it was a late booking and there wasnt too much availability at the price in the area we were looking at. We were hopeful that being a 4* hotel finding fault would be hard.. But actually it wasn't too difficult! In terms of something we liked, the wifi internet connection was easily achieved and performed well. Well the place is ok, but somewhat tired. The 'Superior double room' was not particularly superior, though I guess it depends on what you compare it with. The worst experience for us was the floor in the sauna which was rather mucky under the benches..one can only wonder what the muck was!? Also, the traffic noise was unbelievably bad even with the double glazed windows firmly shut. The noise certainly affected the quality and length of my sleep!

Staff were pleasant, and although not a shower it was a bath witha shower within, the shower quality was excellent. Linen and duvet were first class. Overrated definately NOT 4* only worth 2* in my opinion Meals were overpriced and not that spectacular when we walked out as the menu was very limited. Rooms very small and not as good value as Premier Inn or Travel Lodge. Risky car parking as they ask you to place security checked stickers in your car to ward off thieves opearating in that area! The curtains were incredibly difficult to close, and the room was airless. We had no coffee in the rtoom other than de caffe ??? the cost in my opinion was top london price for poor quality and I certainly would not reccomend this hotel for value.

We liked the swimming pool, jacuzzi, & sauna. The bar was very relaxing too. We would say it is very over priced for the quality of the hotel. We have stayed in 4 star hotels, & this would scrap a 2 Star, in our opinion. No heater could be found for us, as our room was very cold. The choice on the menu in the Breakfast restaurant had a poor choice, & again very over priced. If your looking for top service, this in our opinion is not the place to stay.

Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. Parking was easy and location was good. Hotel room was Ambassador yet looked very shabby in need of painting, cleaning was low standard, toilet seat was loose and the bathroom was black with mould in places. Tea and coffee not replenished before we arrived so no coffee asked for some but it was not forthcoming. Could do with extra pillows.

Well located for our purpose. The mattress was old and uneven. The room was small and rather warm, with no temperature control.

Ample free parking. Large tasteful reception area with a comfortable bar area. Free wifi internet, which worked well, even in the rooms. Lovely looking swimming pool, although I didn't get chance to use it. The room was too hot with the heating on full blast and we were unable to adjust it. Noisy traffic from outside if you opened the window to try to cool down the room. Bed seemed very small for a double bed. This was supposed to be a superior room but there was nothing superior about it. It was just an averagely furnished, fairly small hotel room.

Good service generally. Nice rooms. Very courteous staff. Easy parking. Relaxing atmosphere. Nice bar area. Have stayed many times & always been happy with hotel, however- normally book by phone & pay on arrival. Booked online & did not realize had to pay immediately . (had to pay for friends as well.) found out you can only pay on arrival if booking by phone & having breakfast. Was not happy with this. Did not have breakfast due to cost. Thought it was expensive. (£15.50)

Room was clean and comfortable. Lounge area comfortable. We felt that the drinks and food were very expensive. Hotel was very busy during our stay with xmas functions and obviously most of the staff were involved with these functions as we had to wait a long to time to receive our food order and also to be served at the bar. We sympathised with the staff who were on duty in the lounge bar as they were doing their best.

Liked all the facilities A party was in full swing and the smoking area was under our window , the noise was loud, we thought that at midnight it would cease however we had to ring reception at 0530 hours to get them to shut the noisy people up who gave no thought to the residents. The following morning we complained and was basically told its the season for parties. We were not warned on arrival of a party

It is reasonably priced, conveniently located and offered all the facilities I would need for a weekend break. Something in the room made me cough - may just have been the cleaning products.

The bed was comfortable. The staff were robotic and rude. At breakfast we were told to sit anywhere, then rudely asked to moved as we had sat on "the wrong table". Breakfast food items were low quality with food sourced from the cheapest cash and carry. Scrambled eggs were dry and there was a hard slice of stale bread by the toaster. For those who remember it, this hotel could have doubled for the set of Crossroads. The rooms were outdated with no heat when we arrived. The toilet roll holder was so far from the toilet you had to get up to reach it. Far from 4 Star!

Easy to find, good car parking and close to where I wanted to be. Room warm and comfortable, free internet, though traffic noise with window open from nearby ambulance station. Didnt use the dining facilities but good bar snack menu and 24 hour room service available if you want it. 3Rd time i've used this hotel in the last year and price seems to go up each time. This will ultimately be the reason for not coming back when the cost reaches what I consider to be too much.

Travelling with an 83 year old, the parking was good, right outside the front door with disabled places. The entrance and the floors inside were level with no steps or slopes. The rooms were pleasant and the beds comfortable. Although the rooms were superior doubles it would have been a squash with two people. The dining room tables were too close together, you heard far too much of your neighbours conversation. As the room was barely a quarter occupied it could do with a few tables taken out. The full english cooked breakfast was dire. The people cooking it clearly had no idea of how it should taste. The eggs were rubbery, the bacon was dried out and leathery. The fried bread was fatty and soggy. All of it was only just warm. Surely it would be possible to to cook it to order. I object to having to queue with a plate in my hand and having to stand by a toaster waiting for it to pop up. I want to sit down and have these things brought to me. I expected better of a 4 star hotel and £15 a head.
