This delightful hotel, situated just off of the A14, is within easy driving distance of Ipswich town centre. Our beautifully furnished bedrooms offer relaxing comfort at the end of a busy day. The hotel is fully air conditioned. Family rooms are available, together with cots and highchairs if required. Most rooms offer delightful views over the village or our large gardens. The bridal suite is most attractive with an elegant four-poster bed. Our standard of cuisine is equally high, as is our selection of fine wines and liqueurs. The frequently changing a la carte menu features fresh local produce, cooked with flair and imagination by our celebrated chef. Hotel Rooms: 36, Hotel Chain: Best Western.

We needed to stay in or near Claydon for a family gathering. The location is easy to find - we had visitors from three different areas, and no-one got lost! There's ample parking and disabled access. An attractively converted house which successfully combines old and new, and doesn't feel like a standard 'chain' hotel. Ideal for our purposes. It took a little while to get the heating right. The room was cold when we arrived, then too hot overnight, but settled down during the next day.

Good location, excellent breakfast, friendly welcome. Good sized room. The keycard failed 3 times and as the room was quite a way from reception this was annoying. Subsequently the receptionist gave me a masterkey which also failed later on in the evening which was quite awkward. The vinyl floor in the bathroom made the room look like a hospital bathroom. The hotel bar is directly next to reception and was small and poorly laid out, hence I used pub across the road. All hotel corridors were freezing cold as exterior doors were left open on a freezing Winters day.

The staff were very helpfull and friendly. My room was big and spacious (was a disabled room), but the bathroom was very cold. I only ate there one night but the food was very good. The room and bathroom were very cold. I was told when I checked in that the room would be cold as they are not allowed to preheat the rooms for environmental reasons, which is fair enough but the room heating was via an air con unit and I had to hsve it on full pelt to warm up the room. As for the bathroom this was heated with only a 1k watt heater -not a very efficient method either!!!

It's one of those extended houses which resembles a rabbit warren so you seem to spend hours going up and down corridors to get to your room. All the electric plugs in the room that you may need to access to charge an appliance are hidden. The bed was very soft and lumpy, not pleasant.

It was only a 1 night stay , nothing special but the bed was huge and comfortable. The floor we were staying on had a big crowd staying . The room next to ours was hosting a party before they went out at 10pm, at 3am my partner and myself were woken with a start with lots of shouting and banging of doors and disgusting language.Whilst the hotel cannot be held responsible for its other customers , when we told the receptionist on checking out she told us that we would be getting a letter from the management ....To date we still have heard nothing!

Ease of booking in and out. Polite friendly staff. Good breakfast in relaxed atmosphere. There was a wedding reception and the noise carried a bit and meant that we couldn't open our window until late as the noise entered the room.

The evening meal was excellent Breakfast was very poor value for money (additional charge) Only scrambled egg no fried eggs, no option of poached eggs. Limited choice of cereals -no option of porridge. Poor cold selection. For this reason alone I would not consider staying at this hotel again and have rated the hotel as fair only. If breakfast had been good I would have rated it as good overall as the staff were very friendly and the service good

We needed three rooms for a family wedding, these were supplied and my elderly parents were accomodated on ground floor which was a help. The rooms were made available early to allow us to change for the wedding. The staff were very freindly and helpfull. In particular a 6 berth taxi was arranged with no problems. We did not have breakfast, we all felt that almost £12 was expensive especially as a Sunday carvery was significantly cheaper

Staff are friendly and helpfull. Rooms are mordern and very clean, with air con. If like me you do not drive then taxi's to and from Ipswich become very expensive. Also the walls are a little on the thin side as I could hear the person in the next room holding a telephone conversation.

It was near to Ipswich and our realtives and good value for money. Only that our room was at the front and quite noisy and we were located above the kitchen so the smell came into the room.

Room comfortable/clean and quiet (even when wedding reception being held at time of visit). Staff friendly and polite and available. Althought breakfast was good on two of our three day visit, on 1 day parts of breakfast unavailable and not replenished althought we were in the breakfast dining time period. This was put down to busy (high guest numbers) period for that morning.

The hotel had lots of parking space, the hotel inside was clean and tidy, staff were friendly and helpfull and the room was clean and comfortable. For the first time ever staying at a hotel a noise kept me awake most of the night. There was a constant noise from two air conditioning units outside the room window but otherwise all was as mentioned above.
