Everything. The house was beatiful, location lovely and owners were really nice. The breakfast spread was also excellent.
A very comfortable stay, excellent breakfasts!
There was nothing at all to dislike. We were made welcome by the owner the minute we arrived.
Quiet country lane location, v helpful owners, breakfast (5 Star), easy & safe parking, very comfortable bed, local walks and views over countryside. Lovely place, with great character as well.
Nothing to dislike. Only a reminder to ask Sally about details of her rooms when booking. Balcony room has more space, good views and larger bathroom, slightly cheaper Sunny room is cosier with shower only, but had dual aspect windows, and suited us perfectly.
Food was excellent location was great All in all avery nice place
Quaint B & B with all the comforts you would expect for a 4 star hotel. The owner was lovely. Good pubs nearby for fairly decent food
It would be lovely for a summer retreat in the deepest countryside. But in late autumn winter it would be too bleak and isolated I suspect for most.
Peaceful setting, ideal for rest and recuperation after a busy period at work - which was exactly what we were looking for. Friendly, attentive but not intrusive owners. Beautifully decorated interior with antique/quirky furniture and excellent bedrooms and communal spaces. Great attention to detail (little things like bubble bath in the bathroom, local attraction info including country walk routes in the room, up-to-date magazines and broad selection of boardgames in the communal areas). Then there was the breakfast....
Being able to stay only two nights! It's a guest house, not a hotel, so you need to venture out for evening meals, but a handy list of local pubs and restaurants with accurate comments and descriptions is provided.
The welcome, the breakfast.
Beautiful country house ideally located for visiting this part of Sussex. Excellent breakfast to start your day.Good pubs/restaurants within 10 minute drive
Fantastic house! Loved the genuine medieval style! Excellent and very accommodating hostess! Would certainly stay here again. The family suite was the entire top floor - huge!
Everything! Great location, very warm welcome and superb breakfasts!
Everything Especially the Four poster bed!
Nice farm house. very peaceful stay. room very clean and updated and good breakfast. staff very accommodating.
Warm welcome and excellent Accommodation / Breakfast.
Character and setting was superb.
Lots of character to this period dwelling nice room well kept and clean, I would recommend it if looking for a quiet retreat
No bad observations
You were made very welcome. Lovely surroundings and the sunset from the patio were great 5 *
good location clean & tidy great breakfast nice price
Location was wonderfully secluded and the property itself had great character. Wonderful hosts.
No evening meal available
I liked the personal attention. The fact that it only has a few rooms.
There wasn't anything that I could say I didn't like.
Peaceful rural location. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
Nothing not to like. A word of advice: If you plan to go out for an evening meal and don't want to drive, it might be advisable to book the local taxi service in advance of your arrival. We tried on the evening and he was unable to get to the house until an hour or so later. Being a rural location, there are not many taxi firms in the immediate area.
The Sussex view.
Sally invited us in and before I could put down my case my visa card was taken from me and kerrrching, £95 was processed from us and that is without even getting to see our room! So much for trust then. This was followed by the statement "if you find anything wrong tell me so this can be put right." Now I have to say that on the odd occasion this has been said to me I immediately think what problems does this person expect me to encounter? It was said in such a deliberately terse manner that the last thing a person would want to do was enter into a confrontation with someone displaying as much warmth as a wet fish. Sally then immediately handed us a well used crumpled A4 piece of paper containing restaurant recommendations followed by the words "please ensure you return this to me" we could not understand what was so valuable that it could not easily be copied on a home printer. As we were taken through the breakfast area we were pointed to two chairs, one of which was directly facing the wall. We were told this was where we were sitting the next day for breakfast and we certainly got the impression that we were being told that was where we would have to sit for breakfast, well away from the lovely tables overlooking the garden. Upstairs in the bedroom there were mugs with chipped rims, for which there really was no possible excuse. The shower had a leaking hose and the extractor grill was clogged up with dirt and dust. This would not have been so bad if the extractor had not been sited directly over the bathroom basin and when it would only take less than 10 seconds to run the hoover hose across the extractor grill. The basin cold tap hardly ran any water at all, certainly not enough to wet shave with. Back down stairs the next morning we were looking forward to breakfast. As I was facing the wall I had hoped breakfast would provide some compensation.
