Built as a prestigious hotel by a local tradesman in 1934, the Cliff Head Hotel has been under private ownership for many years. Perfectly located on a private road in Carlyon Bay, directly opposite the Carlyon Bay Hotel. Overlooking beautiful sandy beaches and coves, close to many scenic clifftop walks offering gorgeous panoramic views of the amazing Cornish coastline, the hotel is right in the middle of the Cornish Riviera, which makes it an ideal base from which guests can go out and explore the numerous and wonderful sights that Cornwall has to offer. Whether it be old castles, historic houses, beautiful gardens which, thanks to the Cornish climate all year round are home to many varieties of tropical plant-life, or the many fishing villages close by, guests won't be short of things to see and do to make their stay a memorable experience they'll want to relive many times.

Guests can relax in the wonderful, pleasant, elegant but informal surroundings of the hotel's newly refurbished restaurant. Offering a delightful, diverse choice of food, the hotel's menus change constantly so you will have a wide range of choice during your stay. The table d'hôte menu changes daily, while the à la carte menu changes with the seasons. Chefs work tirelessly to produce fantastic dishes with ingredients sourced from local producers and suppliers. Complement your meals with a glass of wine from the extensive wine list available.

The Cocktail Bar and lounge in the hotel offer the perfect atmosphere for guests to enjoy their evening, whether starting here and going on to explore the nightlife in the area or just to spend a relaxing evening after taking in the sites on offer during the day. Bar meals and snacks are also available.

Each of the 58 rooms is well furnished, spacious and tastefully decorated, with great emphasis placed on style and comfort. Each has an en suite bathroom with either a bath or walk-in shower. South facing rooms offer fantastic views of the English Channel.

The hotel overlooks beautiful sandy beaches on which guests can spend the day sunbathing, splashing around in the sea or exploring the coves dotted along the coastline. The location of the hotel also provides easy travelling access to many attractions such as the quaint coastal villages and ports of Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey. There is a golf course almost adjacent to the hotel as well as 2 more situated close by. Water sports, horse riding, boat trips and fishing are also possible nearby. Just 3 miles away is the stunning Eden Project, the world's largest greenhouse with its vast array of plants, providing beautiful colours year round. Just 9 miles away are the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a garden of beauty set in 200 acres which were created and maintained by the Tremayne family for generations and was featured as a live wildlife location by the BBC. The town of Charlestown with its Shipwreck Centre museum is only 2 kilometres away and the city of Truro with its cobbled streets, historic cathedral, delightful little craft shops and flea markets is only half a hour's drive away. The National Maritime Museum is only 30 kilometres away in the town of Falmouth, where guests can learn all about the maritime history of Cornwall or view the sea life from the Underwater Tidal Zone. In all, guests won't run out of things to do during their stay.

Our entire wing was only accessible via the restaurant but a notice says do not bring luggage through the restaurant, work that one out!!
