The room was a reasonable size, there was a bath, and the location was peaceful. Our experience was marred by two issues. Firstly, meal service was slow, the restaurant is open for 2 hours for dinner, after a long wait we ordered, then waited some more, my steak was undercooked despite the wait. I observed other customers complaining of slow service and undercooked food during our 3 nights at the hotel. Secondly, on the Sunday, our wet towels, which we had placed in the bath as requested, were simply folded and placed back on the side of the bath (one was very wet!). It may be that staff are short in number on the weekends. (We had a nice lunch in the hotel opposite on day!)

The Hotel was very Clean and staff very wellcoming I have stayed in 4 Hotels in Devon and Cornwall in the past 6 Weeks on Business , My wife as also been stayed with Me I left a completed Questionnaire in my Hotel at the Cliff head which complained about the meal we had there. We had baked Cod which was dreadfull it was overcooked and mostly Skin it was placed on some potato wedges which was soggy and not very nice , without a doubt this meal was one of the worst meals my wife and I have had ,to call it a- la -Carte really was not correct ???? We have stayed in Best Western Hotels in the past few years and they were Ok The Both of us were very dissapointed, Regards James Hughes

Very clean and nicely decorated The room was small . There was no lift and being elderly it was a bit difficult getting to our upstairs room. The dinners were not very good and the time taken to serve the courses was not good.

The warm welcome and helpfulness of the person on reception - on arrival she had our booking details ready. We had booked a single room for my elderly uncle and had been allocated one on the second floor, but the receptionist immediately changed it, quietly and tactfully, to a first floor room. Excellent first impression of the care and understanding. All the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend the hotel and will probably select it for future stays in the area.

breakfast was good 1 direction sign for hotel but at the next mini roundabout it was left to guesswork which way to go.stayed in executive room and i know its only 3 stars but it was very small and the walls seem to be very thin as you could easily hear conversations from other rooms also toilet flushes etc all of which was very annoying.57 rooms yet the sauna was only large enough for 4 people with 2 small changing rooms and and no towles/robes supplied also token meter was to high for people 5 ft tall or under to use.half of the view from room was good other half was of the carlyon hotel

Very high cleanliness, room was small-no bath - but immaculate and well set out lighting/tv etc. 5-10 min walk to small beach at Carlyon Bay, even better is the 20 min coastal walk to Charlestown which had a couple of tall ships docked. Really good value - though there was a small descrepency between the amount quoted in reservation and that charged but as was only £1 didn't make an issue of it. Public transport available from stop in Crinnis-5 min walk from hotel ( route 525/524) - not Sundays! The only real downer was a droning sound from a boiler or similar but whilst annoying it didn't prevent me sleeping. Noise from the room above at times sounded like they were rebuilding it - fortunately it stopped before I went to sleep so it wasn't necessary to complain. However, if noise is something that could be an issue for you, you might want to request a room on 2nd floor. Bar facilities friendly but pretty basic.

Lovely location. Good access to all of Cornwall. Comfortable rooms. The Staff appeared to be completely untrained. While friendly and polite, they had no understanding of service and their performance at dinner was so bad that it was actually funny. The shower barely worked but at least the dribble was warm.

The closeness to to the sea Poor restaurant. Too few staff on duty on Friday night- inadequate to cope with numbers dining in the restaurant. In an hour we had a bread roll and glass of wine- no starters appeared.

My wife has difficulty with stairs so I was worried to find our room was on 2nd floor with no lift. Luckily, a room was available on the ground floor which was perfect. Lack of a lift. Carrying suitcases up and down 2 flights of stairs would be no fun even though I still have my health. All hotel websites should specify if there is a lift.

I initially had a problem in my room as the TV would not work: this problem was dealt with very quickly and I was upgraded to another room, this may seem trivial, but as I was travelling alone and in need of R & R I really appreciated the way in hich it was dealt with. The hotel was very convenient to my visit to the Eden Project which was booked for me at the reception desk and the Lost Gardens. A very pleasant stay. I have already recommended the hotel to others.

Staff were absolutely lovely. Not exactly a complaint but a comment. My daughter and I were obviously together - so why did we end up on different floors? Room 10 and room 11 sound ok but they are not together.

The reception and serving staff were very good polite and attentive. The restuarant food for breakfast was good. However, the evening meal cooking was poor. On eone occassion we ordered mussels which although the mussels were ok the sauce looked like dish water. The vegtables were, one one occassion just not cooked which for potatoes was poor. In general the other vegatables were overcooked, I thought that we had moved away from this style of cooking.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast. Free wi-fi in the room. We only stayed 1 night so didn't really mind anything, altough the room and furniture seem a bit old. Having said that, the price was quite good for the location.

The sun rise & sun sets from the sea view room were fabulous. Evening meals tasty and served very hot; however same choice from menu each evening differed in quantity per evening. 3 veg or 6! Complimentary toiletteries were very sparse. Very quiet private road location and good as central pit stop. Eden project 10 minutes drive away. Bit dated in decor. Shower water pressure very weak. Shower shield didn't stop water, which flooded beside toilet. Executive room smaller than expected. Iron advertised as in Executive room but had to ask for. Swimming pool advertised but is closed until March as is inside a greenhouse cover and Cold!
