Location, Hotel room no 16 , very dated could do with a complete refurbish, wall paper peeling off the walls smells of damp, poor quality bedding ,torn window nets.badly fitted window, mould on tiles in bath room ,I certainly will not be visiting the hotel again, but I will say the staff were pleasant.

Probably the best things are the views but they need to get the hotel up too a decent standard I was far from impressed with this hotel. It is run down and very shabby looking. On the website it said it was 13 miles from Fishguard but it was 26 miles. Okay hotel if you are not fussy but I would never stay there again

Lovely setting friendly staff and good facilities. Extreme LU good value for money and despite all the facilities, cheaper than most of the small guest houses in the area

We stayed there due to a wedding on Easter Saturday . Food was excellent all day and evening . Seating arrangements were bit squashed during day . Good food made up for it . Bar staff was particularly bad. ! 300 guests ar night with about 4-5 bar staff ! No where near enough, could hav done with double that amount . Also I'm not a huge fan of employing foreign labour as I find they don't share our (welsh) sense of humour . My preference would always be to employ local labour , I run a business and I'm a firm believer in local people spending their money locally , foreign labour take the money away from local communities - that's half the problem experienced in our country at the moment . The location was excellent, and the views are amazing. No towels or soap provided. Room not clean. Restaurant closed for a private function, so we had to have bar meals. Ran out of towels for the spa as well. No locker keys available so we were told to leave our clothes on the benches in the locker room. Only one person at reception all the time we were there, so there were constant queues. No other staff visible apart from in the bar.

I booked for a one night stay for my partner and I to stay in the hotel. I have got to say I did not have a pleasant stay at all. It was quite promising when you walk through the reception area until you walk down the corridors to the room. It needs a good clean and painting. Our room was absolutely shocking im sorry, we found a dead bug on the bed which we have a picture of and the room smelt of dog wee. I didnt say anything to reception at the time as I was under the impression all rooms were booked according to the Internet so I would have nowhere to be moved too. We had two small towels in the room, one was dirty. We had to wait for a large towel as there wasnt any to give out. The tv was far too small, and it was placed so high and far away from the bed it was hard to read the tv Guide. Nice arrangements of wires!!! Nice when they are left dangling!! Tea stained cups, dirty spoons, I am sorry but this has got to be the worst Hotel I have stayed at. I was not impressed at all. I read your manual in the room, Luxurious Rooms...really??? Were we just placed in the worst room, everyone else seemed to be happy or do they not have any standards. We decided to use the spa facilities, where we were greated by several people waiting at the reception desk. We needed a key for the locker and we had to wait to give a pound deposit for a key. We waitied for a while and decided to leave our belongings unlocked in a locker which I wasnt comfortable doing. The pool water was cold, jacuzzi didnt come on and it was too busy in their to relax with kids splashing around. The highlight of this break was the use of the spa to relax before an event we were competing in on the Sunday (following day) we stayed in the spa 15 mins and we just had to leave. Big disappointment. You advertise the menu as al a carte..i dont think there is anything a la carte about the menu we read and the smell of dirty frying oil on the corridor was stomach churning. We d ecided not to eat.

It has fantastic viewsof the bay, We had a comfortable bedroom. Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed the facilities: spa, pool and gym etc. It would be superb in the summer with the outdoor pool and large sunbathing area.

The location is stunning and the views spectacular, the Spa is still nice but a little tired now, no keys for lockers, no reception staff, temperature of water in main pool too cool, but pleasant enough for relaxing hour. The meals in the bar were very good, substantial portions and well presented. Breakfast was hot and served in the dining room overlooking Cardigan island. Homely atmosphere and staff attentive. The first room we were given was very poor and I asked to be moved, the manager was willing to do this and after a couple of hours while he had the room cleaned and we used the Spa the new room was ready, much better with natural light in the bathroom. The lighting is all low energy and this the whole place a very dowdy feeling which is a shame as it a lovely old fashioned hotel in a fabulous location on the coast and near to Cardigan Town. Decor is very tired, Fin de Siecle feeling would best describe it. All the above were bearable but the lack of wifi in this day and age is not acceptable, poor phone signal is understandable because of the location so wifi essential even if was only available in the reception ?bar areas.

As a couple we liked the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Its position was ideal as family lived 15 minutes away so not far to travel, views from hotel even on a stormy day are thrilling. My wife liked the variety of vegetarian dishes on offer. 1 thing to be mindful of is having stayed last year we noticed the menu hasnt changed and needed a bit of sprucing up. Other than that we were very pleased to be staying and would again in the future. Mr & Mrs Hawkins

Location. However hotel itself is dated. Stayed there at the beginning of December for two nights. Hotel was quiet. Good value for money, that is why we booked a night stay after Xmas. Not as good, limited staff and more guests. Would we book again. Not sure.
