The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and the gardens are beautiful in a scenic location near to Teignmouth beach. The staff put you at ease and you know the hotel is being over seen by management and that they are made aware if anything isn't working properly and they take immediate action. Had really enjoyable four day stay and would definitely return.
Staff were friendly and very helpful I shall be staying again
Not 1 thing was not to like
The staff at the Clifden hotel were friendly attentive and efficient. They made our stay a very pleasant one. The hotel is situated in an area which is very accessible for all major towns and attractions.
Nothing comes to mind. We enjoyed our stay very much.
was a great hotel in a great spot and beautiful gardens which overlooked the sea.. was so nice to walk down to the gate at the end of the garden and be in tieghmouth along the sea front .... hotel had a lovely swimming pool and relaxing surroundings
having to go home
Location - very close to sea with a back gate for quick access. Very polite and friendly staff.
Lovely indoor pool and a wonderful garden. The many dogs were a delight. The staff are very good and although they were very busy when we checked in made us feel welcome.
The night we stayed was decidedly chilly and there was no heating. We were very cold in bed with just a thin duvet and no extra blankets were provided.
Lovely gardens and a short walk to the beach
If you are not a dog lover this hotel may not be for you
The location is perfect close to Torquay dawlish an teighnmouth . The hotel was clean comftable and the swimming pool was great
Clean, good breakfast and helpful staff
Showing signs of age and in need of some investment to improve the building, particularly the bathrooms and showers
the gardens which were lovely ,the room was very large compared to some we have been in, with a lovely balcony overlooking gardens , The rooms were clean and newly painted.A nice large carpark.
Did not always have what we wanted on the menu but the food was good and well priced. .
The grounds were lovely, location was great for walking into town and sea front. The staff were very friendly and accommodating especially with the other guests.
The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, especially all the mould in the shower/bath area could have been removed. Beds were not particularly comfortable. Noise from the downstairs lounge was distracting.
The food The grounds The rooms
Queues at reception
Excellent location and friendly helpful staff
Loud banging noises as if furniture being moved or bins being emptied around midnight
Gardens were lovely although needed a bit of TLC
Thought the whole place needed a spruce up. Crockery was dirty too putting us off our food.
wonderful grounds, excellent food and staff, and bonus we had a sea view and balcony, last minute choice due to health and could not have found anywhere better,it was such a tonic.
I loved the location, the building, the pool, parking facilities, the friendliness of the staff, but particularly the garden. The breakfasts were very good, both form the point of view of choice and quality . . . I would have absolutely no problem recommending the Cliffden Hotel.
The staff were so friendly. They were not "hotel trained" but made every effort regardless and were warm and caring. The gardens are lovely and the walk down to the sea is beautiful. The bar was a great place to relax and reminded me of friendly local bars. I like the idea that money is going to a good cause by staying here.
The room really did need a much better clean. There were different coloured hairs all over the floor. The breakfast table was far too small and the gardens could do with a tidy. There was also no fridge in the room which is a must for someone like me who always buys local foods to take home!
Very outdated rooms. Wifi not avail in rooms
The helpfulness of the staff and the food was excellent, they could not do enough for you. The gardens were delightful to walk around or just sit and enjoy. The gateway at the bottom off the gardens took you to a short walk to the sea front.
Room 211. The hard bed for the first night sorted the next day, Noise of traffic under the bedroom and noise from the floor in the passage way which sounded like loose flooring, Also noise from other guests at a very early hour in the morning (2.30 one day 1.15 another day )
Tatty appearances of hotel interior.
Hotel is set in superb grounds and only a short walk to the middle of town.
Too many dogs.
Needs updating very soon
Location location Grounds to sit in Bedroom excellent
The house keeping in the en suite very poor Taste less sausages Hotel in need a bit of modernisation and painting
The location lovely grounds and view from our room. After a walk we came back for a top class meal and the staff friendly.
nothing to dislike would highly recomend
Blind and Guide dogs as this was a surprise. We had been puppy walkers for G D for B
bed in 202 was not comfortable so after first night we slept on the top with other coverings
