Score from 90 reviews Good
The staffs willingness to help and assist- breakfasts were good too.
The team were great and the location was excellent
the bedroom and bathroom were stifling hot, much to hot for comfort
Staff helpful Clean but plain
Very uncomfortable beds Hard as boards with broken springs and uncomfortable bed protectors underneath as well No wifi in room which was very noisy fr anyone walking around above and in corridor Needed a comfortable chair not plastic bedside lights like headlights which could not be turned off separately Only way to have a low light on was to open bathro door Old mismatched towels
Very helpful staff, food good.short walk to town.2nd stay in 6mths,visiting family in Teignmouth.
The rather old-fashioned décor was comforting, sort of home from home. The staff couldn't be faulted, the amenities were good and I wished I'd brought my dog with me!
The food wasn't as hot as one would wish, but its dining-room is very large; maybe the kitchen was having a bit of a struggle with staff. It wasn't that I didn't like it; the choice of food was good and I would certainly eat there again.
The breakfast and grounds
Good Location Easy Parking Ambiance and Food at breakfast and evening both excellent Staff very helpful Lovely grounds
I would have preferred a top sheet on the bed as well as the duvet. Only a duvet was available.
A reasonable standard [food, facilities] given the price
Weird shower mechanism. Garden needs attention
dog shower wet room, food excellent, felt like home from home
Booked on the day of travel, no problems, good room rates, large room with large bathroom. Only a few minutes walk to the station and less than 10 minutes. Very friendly staff - definitely will book there again
It was all good
The gardens and location were great.
The duvets really need to be replaced as definitely they had seen better days. The bedroom doors slamming shut during the night and early morning was awful - the doors need something to allow gentle closure. Wouldn't want to be here during busy periods as sleep would be difficult.
Location, lovely views and relaxing gardens with lots of places to sit. Excellent service. The hotel looks after guests with disabilities very well
For a hotel that does caters well for guests with sight limitations the very hot water in the hotel could be an issue...lots of signs giving the warning of hot water but would be a recommendation to have thermostats to prevent a possible accident
No wifi, room too hot, decor out dated. Paint work grubby, bathroom needed modernising, not enough sockets (none near mirror), no sheet or duvet on bed. Couldn't face breakfast, it was too depressing.
Everything,Staff,Breakfast,Location. Would stay again.
Great location with very impressive grounds. Lovely swimming pool. Would return again.
Some staff in restaurant need to watch their attention to detail. We were made to feel a bit uneasy at times. Changing rooms in leisure complex require up dating. We would return again, the above comments have not put us off!
Easy parking - straight outside reception with no risk of bumps. Comfortable rooms - warm, clean with nice bathrooms. Tea & Coffee facilities in the room. Attentive and friendly staff - from reception to the waiters/waitresses all seemed keen to please and looked motivated.
The food. Breakfast was poor in all areas, the evening meal was equally as bad, with under cooked vegetables and over cooked meat. With a little more time and care in the kitchen this would have been an excellent rating. The bed I had contained a plastic sheeting to protect the mattress...given that I stopped wetting the bed many years ago this seemed unnecessary and made sleeping in the same position difficult.
The staff at The Cliffden were amazing, helpful and friendly, they even made our dog very welcome and brought him a sausage at breakfast! The location is superb, just a short picturesque walk through the beautiful grounds to the beach promenade. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Lovely location, fantastic grounds, nice pool, friendly & helpfull staff easy parking, with the added bonus of seeing the guide dogs working.
decor a little dated and could do with more comfortable chairs in bar/lounge area
Comfortable with good facilities. Restaurant service and food excellent. The pool and the garden, in my opinion, make this hotel an excellent choice for rest and relaxation. Teignmouth is a traditional seaside town and this hotel is a short walk from the sea front and the beautiful beach. Exeter, Newton Abbott and Torquay are all a lovely bus ride away with views over the coast.
I was in a twin bed room and felt that the single bed was too small.
food not so hot
Evening meal excellent, staff were very patient with limited sighted people. The hotel was on a hill, the local bus was regular and located at the hotel gate. Great area for accessing local nearby towns
Trees spoiled the sea view, but that's nature for you
Great location close to town, staff very friendly and helpful, comfortable beds which is important for me as I have back problems and tasty breakfast.
Every thing about this place was execlent, will be stopping there again nxt yr...
