Location close to beach and town and good food
Liked all, served its purpose for what we required.
Decor a little tired but acceptable
We enjoyed a four night break. Staff really helpful. The entertainment in the evenings was great fun. Food really good. Would go back. Thanks for a great stay.
Location excellent friendly staff Good bed and good nights sleep, Tea, and coffee in rooms
Hotel furnishings and decor very tired and dated. Whilst we love dogs and are very respectful of the job they do in supporting the blind, feel they should be limited to one floor rather than the whole hotel as those of us without dogs were covered in dog hairs !
The indoor pool
Rotten and rattling window frame. Noisy road traffic below bedroom window
Good size room and bathroom. comfortable bed.
No air conditioning and room was very warm.
The gardens, and location were very good.
Only 100 yds from the sea front and set in large gardens the hotel is a great place to stay whether you are visually impaired or not
Lots of corridors were a bit of a pain
The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and the gardens are beautiful in a scenic location near to Teignmouth beach. The staff put you at ease and you know the hotel is being over seen by management and that they are made aware if anything isn't working properly and they take immediate action. Had really enjoyable four day stay and would definitely return.
The hotel had character, rooms were spacious & good choice for breakfast. I liked the fact that they cater for the blind and have hotel information & menus in braille.
Staff were friendly and very helpful I shall be staying again
Not 1 thing was not to like
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff had lots of patience and a good understanding of needes of clientele. All dogs well received and Guide Dog facilities available. Had a most relaxing and comfortable time at the hotl. I found the meals to be enjoyable. And met many other customers with similar visual problems. My room was light and very roomy.
The staff at the Clifden hotel were friendly attentive and efficient. They made our stay a very pleasant one. The hotel is situated in an area which is very accessible for all major towns and attractions.
Nothing comes to mind. We enjoyed our stay very much.
was a great hotel in a great spot and beautiful gardens which overlooked the sea.. was so nice to walk down to the gate at the end of the garden and be in tieghmouth along the sea front .... hotel had a lovely swimming pool and relaxing surroundings
having to go home
Location - very close to sea with a back gate for quick access. Very polite and friendly staff.
Lovely indoor pool and a wonderful garden. The many dogs were a delight. The staff are very good and although they were very busy when we checked in made us feel welcome.
The night we stayed was decidedly chilly and there was no heating. We were very cold in bed with just a thin duvet and no extra blankets were provided.
Very surprised on arrival , staff efficient ,room clean, spacious and comfortable .Gardens and pool excellent ,no complaints .Breakfast good parking good ,just be aware caters for partially sighted ,guide dogs were no problem and a wonderful spot for them to stay !
Lovely gardens and a short walk to the beach
If you are not a dog lover this hotel may not be for you
The location is perfect close to Torquay dawlish an teighnmouth . The hotel was clean comftable and the swimming pool was great
Clean, good breakfast and helpful staff
Showing signs of age and in need of some investment to improve the building, particularly the bathrooms and showers
the gardens which were lovely ,the room was very large compared to some we have been in, with a lovely balcony overlooking gardens , The rooms were clean and newly painted.A nice large carpark.
Did not always have what we wanted on the menu but the food was good and well priced. .
Didn't know what to expect when I booked a single room at 4pm for that night for £40. Pleasantly surprised to find a really nice traditional place, very clean, helpful staff and very good breakfast included.
Grounds and view
Not like a hotel, and we did not realise it was for blind people and their dogs.Which was not stated on website.
The grounds were lovely, location was great for walking into town and sea front. The staff were very friendly and accommodating especially with the other guests.
The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, especially all the mould in the shower/bath area could have been removed. Beds were not particularly comfortable. Noise from the downstairs lounge was distracting.
