Not much not to like. It is old bit charming.

Staff friendly mostly

Dirty bedroom. Beds v.poor condition. Nowhere to relax - chairs uncomfortable in bedroom and public areas. Breakfasts poor quality and often wrong (unboiled egg presented at one time).

Location is superb, opposite beach and views round the bay. Clean hotel. Comfortable bedroom and excellent shower. Bright, fresh dining room with lovely views out. Good breakfasts. Local buses stop at Cliffdene. Helpful staff.

The hotel is what I expected - good value for money - I've used it before. Apart from the dining room, other public areas are a bit worn and dingy albeit clean.

I was very impressed with the Staff, from the time I arrived we were made very welcome from Eilleen, Micheal, then Joseph was excellant, nothing was a problem, basically all then staff where professional and are a credit to the Hotel. I will be coming back next year with my family and will be letting friends and family know how good our stay was, thank you

There was nothing I did not like I thought every thing was just perfect

Very good food and entertainment. The staff were very attentive. It was great to be able to relax in the spacious lounge areas.

Toiletries supplied were not up to the standard we would expect.

The hotel has a very good location directly on the seafront, and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The room and facilities are good value for money. Breakfast was ok.

At least during my stay, it was "overwhelmed" with a large group of people on a bus tour. That makes sense for the hotel, obviously, but for a single traveller that can be annoying.

Me and my wife really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They provided a hotel room with a sea view as we requested, which was amazing. We would definitely visit again

Poor tv in the room Breakfast poor for choice and quality. Hotel is dated and requires a lot of modernisation.

The location was perfect for us (to start trips into Cornwall); best room with a beautiful view!!!

room was very disappointing needs an update asap 2 windows in the room only 1 would open so very hot Furniture old & marked, room very cramped obvious had a water leak through the ceiling repaired with plastic boards ?

The staff were very helpful we are keen cyclists and they were happy to accommodate our two bikes in a safe area at the back of the hotel this sometimes can be a problem with hotels.

Second best to coach parties, no food available in evening when no coach parties in. Shower cubicle too small, Decor very dated, Handyman dropped a ladder on my car and thought he would not tell, good job I witnessed it............

I liked that it was walking distance into town and are room had a very nice sea view.

The Decor in the room was very dated and needs up dating and needs more parking spaces.

Friendly welcome

There was no flat-screen TV in the rooms, although it was stated in the hotel's brochure. The breakfast menu offered a fresh fruit salad but it was not available when requested. The hotel decor and furniture looked a bit faded and tired.

Cheap and in a great location
