Located in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, a few minutes’ walk from the sandy beach and Saltburn Pier, The Spa Hotel boasts stunning sea views, a bar, restaurant and 24-hour front desk.
Score from 87 reviews Very good
The staff were very friendly and happy to help. We dined for tea and me and my partner enjoyed the food which was fantastic. The view from our room was stunning.
The only downside was that he bed was not actually a double bed it was two singles. It was also on the firm side
Loved the view. Loved the food fantastic chef. And staff .
Broken bath panel cobweb above TV. Silicone overdose in the bathroom. A scarf was not removed from the wardrobe left by another guest. Paint flaking in dining room . very tired hotel.
Large comfortable bed Good view Good breakfast Very friendly staff
Bathroom layout poor and basic Poor selection of hot drinks in bedroom Dog's rug and dog asleep on seats in bar
Everything. The location is great especially if choose a bay view room, excellent food and good quantity, large room, and very pleasant staff. Would recommend and we plan to go again,
Views and location were excellent, room was top floor which looked out onto bay, the room itself was lovely. Staff were efficient and helpful. Food was very good.
Toilet didn't always flush! Bed little soft. Although they were very attentive to my food intolerances at dinner there was no alternative for breakfast i.e they could have provided soya milk, instead I had to bring my own
nice views from restaurant good breakfast
tiny bedroom and the bathroom you could not move in only hotel we had booked that did not have option of free cancellation and was overpriced for what we got
The balcony and the sea views. The warm room. The breakfasts. The welcoming staff.
A king size bed would have been more comfortable than the double. The quality of the coffee at breakfast wasn't great
Very friendly and efficient staff made to feel welcome, food of an excellent quality and a superb choice, all though we had a back room it was clean and spacious.Definitely coming again.
There is nothing not to like about this hotel apart from going home.
Beautiful, well furnished room in lovely location
Some small details which caused annoyance, such as the toilet roll holder wasn't properly fixed so the roll fell off constantly and the shower was too powerful for the bracket holding it up so it escaped and drenched the room!
The breakfast was good though need better selection if fruit. Also better selection of juice ...also pastries and muffins . Of course the view is amazing .
The bed was horrendous we did mention to the staff after the first night though nothing happened to make the bed more comfortable a topper would gave helped though it does need a new matteress .hair dryer need upgrading ...
Bedroom was very comfortable and the views from the room were beautiful
No guaranteed parking for paying guests
The previous Time we stayed we had one of the larger rooms. This room was a lot smaller so a bit disappointing. Otherwise we did enjoy are time at the hotel. The evening meal was excellent although a bit pricey
Friendly greeting, helpful pro active staff. Food excellent. Location second to none A1
N/a Having to leave ;-(
Views are brilliant, breakfast choice vast, staff friendly.
Unable to have evening before 6.00pm
Breakfast and dinner is excellent. Staff are very attentive. Location fab.
Lack of Direct access from the dining room to the lawn overlooking the sea.
It was a beautiful location, nice room, excellent facilities and everything you would expect.
Splendid location perched on the cliff above the unspoilt bay below, enhanced by the view of the same from our room window. Very friendly staff, and a fantastic breakfast in the morning.
Only staying for one night! Will book for longer next time.
Great location, lovely clean spaceous room with sea view. Young staff with your interest at heart. Ease of access to lots of coast (beech and cliff) and local towns. Free WiFi.
Long wait to be served at dinner, but soon sorted.
I liked friendly staff at breakfast and on entry. I liked the cliff top view from the garden I liked the breakfast well cooked
I did not like the room with wall paper coming off the wall and a bathroom that was desperate for a refurbishment the shower was dangerous with a strange 6inch lip to step over that was dangerous and only one out of four handles on wardrobe left when I complained the nota£120 room told it was the room used for on linebookingsites I was moved second room very nice but disgusted that it was ok to give me the rubbish room for £120 a night until I complained will not go back
The location at the top of the cliffs on the North Yorkshire coast is wonderful.
The hotel generally is a little tired and lacks atmosphere, however the views over the sea do compensate. Our room which was room number 1 is to be avoided. The room its self is just about acceptable, but the en suite shower room, no bigger than a cupboard and is not acceptable for £120 per night. Poor decoration, wash basin too small and far too low and a dangerously high lip on the shower tray.
I could not fault anything.
My wife said a dressing table would have made the room.
Just the is too expensive
The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were attentive and the choices at breakfast were numerous.
We had a ground floor room with a part view of the bay. We would have to have paid for a "Super Premier" room on a higher floor at extra cost to receive a full view. The rate of £160 per night plus the cost for dinner in my view was excessive.
the location and outlook (but that can't be credited to the management!!) breakfast- one morning, but not all the staff
a whole range of small shortcomings that cumulatively add up to a feeling of being sold short, given the hotel website's extravagant claims in terms of both luxury and cuisine. In a word: overpriced.
