Great location, lovely clean spaceous room with sea view. Young staff with your interest at heart. Ease of access to lots of coast (beech and cliff) and local towns. Free WiFi.

Long wait to be served at dinner, but soon sorted.

    I could not fault anything.

My wife said a dressing table would have made the room.

The view was fantastic and the staff welcoming and helpful. Food was remarkably and consistently excellent.

Our room, which even the manageress said was their least favoured accomodation, looked out onto a large flat roof over which the gorgeous bay could just be seen. It was also possible to see and be seen from the windows of the adjoining room. The shower room was tiny (as were the towels) and the shower itself delivered scalding and freezing water by turns without the controls being touched. However, the plus points of the hotel did outweigh this. Recommend visitors book superior rooms, which are said to be great.

We arrived very late and we spoke to a young man called Mark, he was so very helpful, and although we arrived very late at night, he was very welcoming, and friendly, which was an excellent start to our short break.

We feel that for £175 per night that perhaps a mini bar, containing fresh milk for teas and coffees would have been in the room, also perhaps the bickie jar should have been replenished the next day too... Although we are dog lovers, perhaps the lawn should have been cleared of doggy poo so that we would have been able to enjoy the view more, rather than watching our footing, (this should have been down to the dog owners really)

Cliff top location excellent and the room we chose with a balcony was perfect.Food good with a wide choice. Staff could not do enough for us and it is a very friendly hotel

Shower could have been positioned better but I am 'nit picking' here

The location and obliging staff. The nicely fitted bedroom and good bath/shower. Very good food.

Wine and bar drinks were over priced. The amount of stairs and landings might be a problem for less mobile guests.

The hospitality of the owners and the view from the dining room.

The room that looked onto the shed, the fact was not told proper info online. The overpriced food and drink!

Lovely view from the premier rooms over the bay. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds very comfortable. A very pleasant place to stay if you are after a quiet place to get away from it all. The staff were friendly and nothing too much bother. The cooked breakfasts were very nice too. The premier rooms also overlook the beer garden.

The hotel is pet friendly and when having breakfast in the dining room you could hear a couple of dogs in the bar area barking at each other which was a bit off putting. Be warned the hill down to Runswick bay is a bit more than steep and the climb is definitely going to leave you out of breath so a few stops needed but at these stops you can take in the wonderful views of the bay.

Layout meant that you couldn't enjoy the great views over the bay from the bar area.

The location was the redeeming factor. The breakfast was also nice and the staff in the morning where pleasant.

Our room was overpriced for what it was essentially a large cupboard. The lovely view was blocked by a horrible flat roof and the neighbouring room could see right into our so that I had the curtains closed most of the time.

Perfect, comfortable spacious room with a beautiful view from the balcony. Very friendly professional staff Many thanks, hope to see you again soon

My only criticism and this is a personal view, very little time given between courses at dinner, felt a little rushed. When I asked for a little break we were told that chef had already started cooking our second course. I am sure some people like courses to be served in such a way but I feel that an option should be given, for a little break.

The location was very good and the staff friendly and helpful and were doing a good job of making guests feel welcome

We both felt that the hotel was somewhat dated and the room overpriced in comparison with other hotels we had stayed in recently.

Views from room and restaurant. Good food, friendly staff. Right on Cleveland way footpath. Some reviews say overpriced and paying for view ... but view worth it.

Poor WiFi coverage. Breakfast starts late - 0830 - if you want to be out walking.
