Score from 385 reviews Very good
I liked my room and the fact that I was telephoned just after I had made my booking via the Internet and was told that because of the number of rooms already booked out and the fact that it was a Christmas party night my room was located over the party room meant I could cancel if I wanted to. I took ear plugs and the party seemed quite quiet any way. Excellent breakfast.
There were three cask ales available - two from the Adnams Brewery. I had a pint of Adnams Broadside - it was without doubt the worst [pint of beer I have ever tasted. The hotel desperately needs some lessons in how to keep and serve cask ales, if my experience was the norm.
The room was comfortable & good sized bathroom. Meal in bar sunday evening very good. Due weather being very good for december glad we had the sea view room
Booked a deluxe double with sea view but 2nd floor rooms are rather small we were changed when we asked. They put us in original room due a function & probable noise til midnight as we went out this was not an issue.Due acoustics bar gets rather noisy even when not particularly busy & due xmas no lounge area to sit in. Saying all the above we always stay here when visiting family & will continue to do so
everything was just lovely! x
Staff were very obliging, it was a warm comfortable hotel. Breakfast was above par. But the seating wasn't very good especially if you were with more than four people due to the booths.
The plumbing was not up to par, hand basin plug didn't hold water, and tap was very stiff. The shower door was also stiff and came off its rails when moved, at one point I thoughtI would be stuck in it. The lighting needs to be better for hair and face make-up, no lights over any mirrors.
The weekend was great very friendly staff.
nothing enjoyed all.
Clean and no fuss luxury rooms. Super warm rooms and bathroom were a delight. Even I needed to open a window and turn a radiator off. No doubt about it. If I am in Gorleston I would not stay anywhere else.
Car park was full probably due to the hotel's popularity.
Room and breakfast
Noise from seasonal parties and drunk participants on the first floor landing when we returned just before midnight.
Loved the hotel and being by the beach was amazing
Not a lot really except perhaps the skip and workmen beneath our room when we woke. Stay was great
Nice room, comfy beds and good breakfast.
I had to phone down to reception around midnight because of the excessive noise below our bedroom window. There should be a warning when you book that the bar is open till 1pm. Even though the bar is at the back the drinkers were shouting and arguing outside the front door. There was no consideration for the paying guests. Complained again the next morning and was told that it would be reported to the manager. As yet no apology or further correspondence has been received.
Stay at the Cliffs a lot. It's always good
The room was clean and spacious, the food was stunning and staff were really friendly :)
The corridors could do with. Re furb.
Everything, this is our 3rd stay, but this time we booked an executive room with sea view and it was brilliant, really cant recommend this hotel highly enough, staff are really helpful, room was spotless as per all our previous visits, and breakfast is great. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, and we will be back again.
The room was adequate and clean bed was comfortable
The arrival with people arriving for the bar using bad language in front of my partner the place was so loud. went for a drink in residents bar although waiters served us drinks we had to wait for one to come in and grab them before they left. The Cliff Hotel needs to decided if it is a trendy bar or a hotel I feel it's a trendy bar. not the place for middle aged traveller.
Everything! Hotel was lovely, staff very friendly, we were given an upgrade to the Bathe suit, a real treat as it was our anniversary (hotel did'nt know this). Food beautifull, could'nt wish for a better stay.
Location Modern hotel Good facilities Nice breakfast Nice decor Great Sea view
Small bathroom Small hallways
Reception, bar and terrace are very nice.
Our room was a bit small with only a view of a roof.
Location and comfort
There's an ongoing problem with the hotel about card transaction security
Evening meal in restaurant was good. Enjoyed the walk in the morning along the sea front.
Breakfast was disapointing. Room was very hot even without radiators being on! Reception could do with a make over but that's just my opinion.
Lovely room, nicely furnished and equipped with excellent refurbished bathroom. Nice public areas and good breakfast.
View (although lovely) wasn't worth paying extra for because the window was so small you couldn't see anything unless you went to stand at the window. Corridors a little shabby and not as clean as the rest of the hotel.
Friendly staff on reception especially Carrie
We were very comfortable an ideally situate to make the most of some bracing walks on the beautiful beach. We were very fortunate to get some lovely weather - we even managed to take our breakfast on the wonerful veranda in late October!!
We booked a table in the main restaurant and due to the fact there was a large group in we had to wait 30 mins before we could be seated and dealt with - that said it was worth waiting for!!
Location and views from room and the Terrace Bar
Our room was everything that we needed....The Bed was big and very comfortable, shower was lovely... View from our room was very nice...evening meal was delicious and the staff very helpful...breakfast was very good with plenty if choice and was lovely and hot defiantly come back again :-)
The location of this hotel is great with the beach in view. The terrace overlooking the beach was a great place to have a drink or eat at anytime. The food in both the bar and restaurant was amazing. Would highly recommend.
During our two night break there was activities on both nights. We wasn't made aware of these when booking.
