Nice room, comfy beds and good breakfast.
I had to phone down to reception around midnight because of the excessive noise below our bedroom window. There should be a warning when you book that the bar is open till 1pm. Even though the bar is at the back the drinkers were shouting and arguing outside the front door. There was no consideration for the paying guests. Complained again the next morning and was told that it would be reported to the manager. As yet no apology or further correspondence has been received.
Stay at the Cliffs a lot. It's always good
The room was clean and spacious, the food was stunning and staff were really friendly :)
The corridors could do with. Re furb.
Everything, this is our 3rd stay, but this time we booked an executive room with sea view and it was brilliant, really cant recommend this hotel highly enough, staff are really helpful, room was spotless as per all our previous visits, and breakfast is great. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, and we will be back again.
The room was adequate and clean bed was comfortable
The arrival with people arriving for the bar using bad language in front of my partner the place was so loud. went for a drink in residents bar although waiters served us drinks we had to wait for one to come in and grab them before they left. The Cliff Hotel needs to decided if it is a trendy bar or a hotel I feel it's a trendy bar. not the place for middle aged traveller.
Everything! Hotel was lovely, staff very friendly, we were given an upgrade to the Bathe suit, a real treat as it was our anniversary (hotel did'nt know this). Food beautifull, could'nt wish for a better stay.
Location Modern hotel Good facilities Nice breakfast Nice decor Great Sea view
Small bathroom Small hallways
Reception, bar and terrace are very nice.
Our room was a bit small with only a view of a roof.
Location and comfort
There's an ongoing problem with the hotel about card transaction security
Evening meal in restaurant was good. Enjoyed the walk in the morning along the sea front.
Breakfast was disapointing. Room was very hot even without radiators being on! Reception could do with a make over but that's just my opinion.
Lovely room, nicely furnished and equipped with excellent refurbished bathroom. Nice public areas and good breakfast.
View (although lovely) wasn't worth paying extra for because the window was so small you couldn't see anything unless you went to stand at the window. Corridors a little shabby and not as clean as the rest of the hotel.
Friendly staff on reception especially Carrie
We were very comfortable an ideally situate to make the most of some bracing walks on the beautiful beach. We were very fortunate to get some lovely weather - we even managed to take our breakfast on the wonerful veranda in late October!!
We booked a table in the main restaurant and due to the fact there was a large group in we had to wait 30 mins before we could be seated and dealt with - that said it was worth waiting for!!
Location and views from room and the Terrace Bar
Our room was everything that we needed....The Bed was big and very comfortable, shower was lovely... View from our room was very nice...evening meal was delicious and the staff very helpful...breakfast was very good with plenty if choice and was lovely and hot defiantly come back again :-)
The location of this hotel is great with the beach in view. The terrace overlooking the beach was a great place to have a drink or eat at anytime. The food in both the bar and restaurant was amazing. Would highly recommend.
During our two night break there was activities on both nights. We wasn't made aware of these when booking.
The size and comfort of the bed was just amazing. Usually have trouble sleeping in a stranfe bed for the first night when I go away but had no problems on this trip. Tastefully decorated bedrooms and ensuite with everything that you would need in there if you had forgotten to pack some of your own products.
Would have prefered to have had a mug in the bedroom as well as cups as personally prefer to drink my tea from one, and seeems such a waste to use asmall cup for a t-bag.
Room clean, spacious, lovely balcony with sea view from family room which kept grandad & grandson entertained watching pilot bring ship in. breakfast wasn't rushed and overall relaxing, staff welcoming & helpful, outside playarea, terrace area gave great view Sea & what is a wonderful sandy beach. Facilities great but shower issue!
Feel a bit bad about been a bit down on what was a great place, but the show did my head in!!!! loads of power but the shower head just shot up toward the ceiling - stress thought I was going to blow they lovely lights!!! did mention it on checking out (as water everywhere - ceiling, lights, floor, whole bathroom - thank god door was shut otherwise it would have been more water!) when told reception on checking out they understood exactly what I mean!
Good food, good bar, excellent location.
118 is a noisy room as it is above the kitchen and next to some kind of generator. Avoid.
Reception staff were very helpful both on check in and check out, even found a local garage to repair my car. The cliff bar was ex surrounding beer and food ex.
My room 117 was small and pokey with no chair at all to sit on. I had to sit on the end of the bed and use my laptop on the dressing table. Also you could hear all movement from 118, in was on a late start and would have liked to lie in until 8.30, the guest next door was in the bathroom a 6pm and I was awake also as I could hear all his early morning goings on, shower, toilet and sink. I was not a happy bunny. I did not complain at reception as they could not do anything about it.
Views from terrace and the contempary, clean lines of the bedroom.
Cheap, poor quality mattress covers made the bottom sheet come off.
View was fantastic. Bed was lovely and big. Outside seating area was a bonus.
Room very hot. Had the window open and from 8 clock in the morning people congregating under the window near entrance very noisy. No bath robes. 1 packet of biscuits between two of us. Bottle of water three quarters drunk not replaced. No do not disturb signs in room..harassed by housecleaning from 10 o'clock,(maybe not able to clean room in afternoon...this was told to us by housekeeping)
Bar Area / Decking / Glass balustrade overlooking beach.
Staircases areas need upgrading. Thought £2.95 for Cappaccino was expensive for the area we were in.
1.Sea view room required to be repainted the walls had plenty of scuff marks. 2. Windows need to replaced with double glassing for the noise factor and the years of black mould around the glass / window frames/walls 3. Very dim lighting in the bathroom 4. Mould issue in the bathroom around taps and shower
