Great location in West end. Very nice neighbourhood. Good price. Helpful staff
From start to finish a thoroughly pleasant stay in a low cost yet comfortable hotel. Extremely accomodating staff who helped with stowing our luggage, booking a local taxi which was much cheaper and even letting us wait for a couple of hours in reception watching tv after we'd checked out. Glaswegian hospitality at its best!
Location, helpful staff, cleanliness and comfort,
Slow filling toilet cistern!
Bedroom given was in the basement with a view underneath the damp entrance steps. Bathroom smelt a bit damp.
Room was quite spacious. Bed was clean and quite comfortable. Iron and board available which was very helpful. Breakfast was good. Overall worth the money we paid.
Bathroom needed grout and tile sealant, also ceiling in shower cubicle bit black, bit off putting. Could also help if there were a shower cap and toiletries as u get in other hotels.
What a great deal and a freshly cooked breakfast which was really good.!!
Whats not to like £40 for 2 people including breakfast
Have stayed at the Clifton twice on visits to Glasgow, great location, friendly helpful staff and clean nicely decorated cosy rooms close to subway train, cool bars and Botanic Gardens. Will definitely stay again for such great price. Cheers!
Friendly TV - Wifi Babybed or Babysit for the breakfast Breakfast not only Scottish
Bed Shower (open or close the shower)
Location excellent and great breakfast which was cooked to order.
I facing rooms a bit noisy but wouldn't put me off returning
Breakfast and large room
Parking isn't perfect but can't complain due to price of room
Car parking to the rear of the hotel.
One day after I booked an over night stay in this hotel, my husband died suddenly of a heart attack My daughter phoned to say what had happened and to cancel the booking. The response was that I had to pay for the night's stay regardless. The full cost of our stay has been withdrawn from my credit card.. Surely this is not the way Glasgow, the friendly city normally conducts business.
The breakfast is amazing and the location is perfect.
Wi-fi did not work sometimes and the room was a little cold.
Location ideal for the west end/byres road area. And so much better value than the Hilton.
Breakfast service ended at 9 am, fair enough, but I slept in and missed it....
Breakfast finished at 9:30 at the weekend and didn't tell us. Probably a bit early for a weekend.
Excellent location, good value for money, and friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Location in west end of Glasgow. Perfect for a night out, small (but not that small). Fab old Glasgow type house but freshly enough painted. Couldn't believe it for price!
Never made the breakfast as finished at 10 so can't comment
The hotel is family run and it shows in the welcome one receives. Friendly staff, any little problems are dealt with immediately without drama.location wise it is ideally situated.orEating out in the area is a gastronomic delight. Within 30 or 40 yards of the front door is onthere is one of the bestPersian restaurants that I have ever eaten in. Around thecorner is Byre's Red with a wide variety of internationaleating places. The hotel is also on a main road, and close to the undground system. Inspire of which it is quiet and peaceful. This was my second stay and although many of the clientele appeared to be passing through they seemed to be decent types. Over all the atmosphere at the Clifton is one of calm and peace, where then residents are considered as "friends".
Nothing to dislike.
The staff were very friendly
We over slept and missed breakfast
Proximity to venue I was visiting, very close to tube and some nice places to shop and eat nearby. Clean bedroom and ensuite. Breakfast was good. The room was a good size and the hotel was warm throughout.
Very uncomfy bed, shower head was broken and was very precariously balance on the wall. The net curtain in the bathroom was dull grey, very dirty looking and there was no other window covering other than fuzzy window pattern. I was staying in room 3 at the top of the building and it was presumed I was able to manage the stairs. I do have a sore hip but managed this ok. Glad I got a cheap deal otherwise I would be making more of a song and dance about it.
Location, friendly staff.
Location and friendly staff
Only one coffee cup and nit cleaned.
We were attending a wedding at the Grosvenor Hotel across the road and was looking for a cheaper hotel to stay. The Clifton ticked all the boxes. The room was clean and full of character with a lovely large walk in shower. Lots of space to hang clothes and plenty of mirrors. Breakfast was freshly cooked and substantial. I would recommend this hotel.
Everything about hotel was brilliant no complaints at all
Large family room which was very spacious and was clean and tidy. Staff were accommodating, even though we arrived a little early and very friendly.
