Location in west end of Glasgow. Perfect for a night out, small (but not that small). Fab old Glasgow type house but freshly enough painted. Couldn't believe it for price!
Never made the breakfast as finished at 10 so can't comment
The hotel is family run and it shows in the welcome one receives. Friendly staff, any little problems are dealt with immediately without drama.location wise it is ideally situated.orEating out in the area is a gastronomic delight. Within 30 or 40 yards of the front door is onthere is one of the bestPersian restaurants that I have ever eaten in. Around thecorner is Byre's Red with a wide variety of internationaleating places. The hotel is also on a main road, and close to the undground system. Inspire of which it is quiet and peaceful. This was my second stay and although many of the clientele appeared to be passing through they seemed to be decent types. Over all the atmosphere at the Clifton is one of calm and peace, where then residents are considered as "friends".
Nothing to dislike.
The staff were very friendly
We over slept and missed breakfast
Proximity to venue I was visiting, very close to tube and some nice places to shop and eat nearby. Clean bedroom and ensuite. Breakfast was good. The room was a good size and the hotel was warm throughout.
Very uncomfy bed, shower head was broken and was very precariously balance on the wall. The net curtain in the bathroom was dull grey, very dirty looking and there was no other window covering other than fuzzy window pattern. I was staying in room 3 at the top of the building and it was presumed I was able to manage the stairs. I do have a sore hip but managed this ok. Glad I got a cheap deal otherwise I would be making more of a song and dance about it.
Location, friendly staff.
Location and friendly staff
Only one coffee cup and nit cleaned.
We were attending a wedding at the Grosvenor Hotel across the road and was looking for a cheaper hotel to stay. The Clifton ticked all the boxes. The room was clean and full of character with a lovely large walk in shower. Lots of space to hang clothes and plenty of mirrors. Breakfast was freshly cooked and substantial. I would recommend this hotel.
Everything about hotel was brilliant no complaints at all
Large family room which was very spacious and was clean and tidy. Staff were accommodating, even though we arrived a little early and very friendly.
Location and price Breakfast
Wi-fi poor Only roof windows
Room was clean & comfortable and staff friendly & helpful- would stay again
No hairdryer or complimentary biscuits on tea/coffee tray Bath a bit worn
Location was perfect for West End of Glasgow. Breakfast was great.
Noise from road as in front facing room.
Very spacious family room. Spotlessly clean bathroom. Friendly and efficient staff. Good variety at breakfast.
Room was quite hot but we adjusted the radiator and it was fine. Shower could be more powerful.
Excellent value for money clean comfortable well located hotel ( near to subway and bus connections to city centre ) with a good breakfast. An absolute bargain.
Excellent location in the West End nearby the Botanical Garden and very close to the subway station. Nice building, hotel and rooms very clean, friendly staff. Breakfast was a real plus.
My ground floor room was a bit noisy some nights, even if the quarter was overall very quiet. Wifi was not always working, especially in the evening.
Our stay at the Clifton hotel was first class in all areas. Will go back again.
very friendly staff, very helpful the room was gigantic for a very small price (£32), facilities were impeccable
Situated on top of the vibrant Byres Rd, I could not ask for a better location. Close to Botanic Garden, Glasgow University with all its museums and galleries, Byres Rd with shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes, and Hillhead subway station which will take you to Glasgow city center in 8 minutes. Perfect! Staff was helpful and friendly, and the room was beautiful and clean. Complimentary breakfast is always a plus (even though we hardly ever managed to wake up in time for it). I'll definitely stay here during my next trip to Glasgow.
The wi-fi was a bit unstable. Signal would occasionally disappear, or things would run slowly. Otherwise, no complaints.
The staff are extremely friendly and willing to help. The location was perfect for us. We didn't use Wi-Fi so can't comment.
The TV seemed difficult to control and I would have liked a blind up at the bathroom window.
Comfortable room Good food Good service
Paid-for parking totally inadequate No lift - fortunately we were re-allocated a 1st floor room, otherwise we could not have stayed.
Loved the location of this hotel. Breakfast was great
Excellent location in Hillhead, Glasgow, within walking distance of the University (which I was visiting) and convenient for the subway, restaurants etc in Hillhead. Clean facilities, no noise disturbance.
Parking was a problem; the street outside has very expensive short stay only parking but is unrestricted between 10 pm and 8 am, so leave your car somewhere else (many other streets nearby are unrestricted after 6 pm) and move it after 10 pm, once you have worked out how to get it into this particular street for which access was rather awkward. Or pay £5 to park in one of a few spaces owned by the hotel. No instructions for how to use the wireless internet, which I suspect I would have had to pay extra for, anyway.
The location was perfect, as we were visiting the University of Glasgow, it was a 10 min walk and the bus into the city centre stops outside the hotel every 10 mins. We had a lower ground room which was very quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Staff very nice
