This was our 3rd stay and as always were made very welcome. Coming back in August for 4 nights
The location is excellent and I'm really pleased that i didn't spend my weekend just in the shopping strip. Excellent cafes and restaurants in the area. The cost of course is great for just over £40 a night for a solo traveller.
My room was downstairs. It was very different to the pictures. Very old and the bed had almost collapsed on one side. Luckily I'm only one person. Kind of a smelly box but you get what you pay for i suppose. I was in Glasgow for a fitness event at the SECC, but upon returning to my room my fruit had disappered. Obviously taken by a cleaner who thought i had taken the breakfast fruit. The more i think about the more annoyed i become. its not good to have things moved or taken like that, regardless of how minor they may seem. The breakfast I ate as i was very hungry but it was very poor quality and cold, felt like it was reheated meat. I like staying a small local places as i feel that you get a different approach and while the receptionist/ cook is a very nice woman i almost regret not just booking a Travelodge as i wasn't very comfortable. Things felt dirty to the touch and it was not a relaxing sleep. The room was cold and the mattress a disaster, so old and cheap. I slept with my clothes on as it felt so uninviting.
Our shower overflowed into the room and all they gave us were a few extra towels to put over the soaking wet rug. The bed was the worst mattress I have ever slept on including stays in hostels.
Staff were friendly, helpful and kind and worked hard. Brilliant location for west end. Bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was dirty, shower didn't work, no hot water at times. Bare wire behind sink to lights that didn't work, wifi was so slow I gave up on it. Basic food e.g. tinned fruit, instant coffee. Thermostat didn't work so freezing or boiling hot. Socket was an extension cable with bare wires with tape on screwed to wall. Bathroom door didn't shut properly and the light switch was too hight for me to reach. No toiletries, just a small bar of soap. Water pressure really low so took an hour to half fill the bath and then the water went cold. Gave up on trying to have a bath.
I am so glad I found this hotel, very close to family when I visit Glasgow. Good sized rooms, comfy beds, had a good nights sleep, and to finish off a lovely scottish breakfast fresh in the morning. Will definitely be returning again. Thankyou :-)
Stayed there for work needed something cheap and close by. I got what I paid for in terms of the room. The staff was very polite and accommodating. Parking at the back of hotel for £5 per night I found ok. The shower was mediocre with not so good running water and not draining properly. Anyway will most likely use again due to low price.
We only had a short stay but would use this hotel again. Our small double room was big enough for our needs and the bathroom was very clean and nicely tiled. The breakfast was very good and the hotel is well located.
Great location in the west end, hotel generally and room was all very clean. Receptionist was friendly and efficient. Room was huge with fair amount of drinks. Bathroom was very big and spotlessly clean.
I asked the guy at the door what to do about parking and he told me I'd have to pay at the meter (which was very expensive so I just but 30 mins on till I could find somewhere else), then was told by the receptionist that there was a car park for £5. Don't know why we wasn't told this straight away!! The mattress of the bed was very thin, and the sink had a crack that leaked water out. The wifi was very hit and miss which drive us mad and we couldn't get many channels on TV. Breakfast was very cheap ingredients and the lady serving us was abrupt bordering on rude!!
Huge value! Breakfast was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a room for 3 singles - a full bed and two singles. Room was huge with an en-suite bath - huge tub with shower along with sink and toilet. Wifi worked both days without fail.
Price, Staff and Proximity to the west end.
Bathroom could use a refurb but you get what you pay for and we paid very little.
Rooms were big for the value of money Breakfast was nice
location great=right in the west end & uni.- and still within an easy walk of city centre
Location: - Close to the tube and then about 8min to centre. They let me keep my luggage at the reception after my checkout. The lady at the reception was nice and helpful.
Stinky room - I had a room at the basement just under main stairs. Smelled like mould and mud. Even my pyjamas smelled after I got home. Old furniture and room - furniture must be 100y old.. stinky, none of the doors close properly, bathroom one didn't even closed. Mattress was terrible. I barely got some sleep. Carpet very dirty. Bathroom floor cracked. Shower rusty. Coffee/tea station looked dirty, didn't even try to use it. Very Noisy. I barely got some sleep. You can hear everything from the other rooms and from the street. Free toiletries are basically just a cheap soap. No shampoo or anything else. Wifi connection no where to find Cold - heat worked for about 2h in the evening and 2h in the morning. Really??? winter time and they turn off the heat during the night? I asked if I can check out later and I was asked to pay extra £25 for just 3 more hours. Not saying that the checkout is at 11am even thought on my booking said 12. Breakfast not terrible but the bacon and mushrooms were a bit greasy. I asked for Earl Grey and I got a random tea. Very rude manager. I left a negative review on other website and he tried to excuse his incompetence with a bunch of lies of how I was smoking weed and I was kicked out of the hotel.
Warm welcome. Beautiful breakfast. Had a small double room - spacious and comfy. Everything clean and tidy. Brother has small double as well as he enjoyed his room and the breakfast. Will stay again when visiting dad and gran. Thank you very much.
Sealant round shower a bit grubby but that's being fussy.
The friendly staff were very helpful. The room was well presented and relatively quiet. Good amount of storage and a nice bathroom.
There was a damp patch on the carpet. There was a plastic bag of I don't know what stuffed in one of the bedside cabinets.
Brill value for money, with a full breakfast thrown in. Perfect for a mini break
No problems at all.
Nice building, good location, very reasonable
A lot of light in the room at night Sunday Breakfast ends at 9.15!
Comfortable bed, room warm comfortable and clean.
Toilet cistern took about 30 minutes to refill after flushing, used kettle to fill it if a flush was needed. Shower was difficult to regulate and shower head wouldn't stay on holder. Breakfast staff could be a bit more cheerful.
Close to hospital and city friendly and clean
I was at concert in Oran Mor so hotel really close! Very helpful lady at reception
Suggest you tell guests need to switch on at socket in bedroom before shower will work! Would much appreciate REALLY COFFEE not instant!!
Comfy bed, very warm and room very clean.
Too many stairs to carry toddler up and down.
