Staff v friendly.pleasant atmosphere nice clean decor.
En suite was very small
Loved the sea views; thought the food was gorgeous and really good value for money (nice to eat in their bistro early evening); location was perfect for me; staff were extremely helpful and friendly; lovely small cosy bar and also a green area to sit out.
As a solo traveller, invariably, bedrooms and en suite bathrooms can be much more compact. I am not sure if there is any answer to this other than paying a lot more and asking for a larger room with a view. Having said that, there was a great flat screen TV, a double bed, tea making facilities and fresh water in the room every day, which was much appreciated.
The position and the welcome from the staff
poor flushing loo
The hotel was clean. It's location was good. Staff was nice and friendly. Nice carpets all around the hotel. Rooms are good sized. Breakfast was amazing.
We really disliked the manager/owner: He and his wife were treating their staff very rudely, and they were only friendly to local people. Although it is a nice hotel,do not visit it if you are not English. You can easily overhear what people in the other rooms are talking about or doing. Avoid the hotel if you are looking for something quite. Beds were not comfortable.
First class cooked (to order) breakfast. Unbeatable location with superb views. Friendly and efficient staff
Nothing not to like
Nothing to dislike
If you are looking for a hotel to stay at on the isle of wight then look no further than the clifton, 1st class hotel and nothing is any trouble for the staff, you are very well looked after. Looking forward to going back next year.
Staff extremely friendly . Breakfast delicious although took an HR which made me late for meeting .I am sure if I had said I was on business it would have been speedier .I went with the flow !
Fantastic views Comfortable and relaxing room Nice breakfast Friendly staff Discount on ferry travel Close to everything you'd want including restaurants, beach, views, shops. Great location
Internet limited to 100Mb Charged extra for latte coffees Parking a little tight
Location cosy atmosphere breakfast friendly staff
nothing to do in the hotel
Good access to the main street and its restaurants, also it's proximity to the sea.
No life in the place.Had to remember the door code and your room key when going out. Needs modernising
Staff were efficient & friendly. Room small but well furnished & comfortable. Hotel is very well situated, close to town & beach but in a quiet neighbourhood.
A little pricey.
Location; breakfasts; helpful staff
Small bathroom; having to remember the pass code to get in after 10.
We were upgraded to the premier suite, a lounge area and small bedroom, lovely big balcony with amazing views over Sandown Bay. A very nice comfortable lounge with plenty of drawer space for all your bits and bobs. 2 TVs but limited channels. Very peaceful location. Breakfast was OK.
My partner found the bed a bit uncomfortable but that is a personal thing, I thought it was fine. The bathroom was a bit small and could do with some more shelves for toiletries etc, the shower sometimes ran hot and cold although it was powerful. Would have been nice to come back in the evening and have a drink at the bar or on the terrace as the weather was so good but by 10.30 it was all locked up!
Beautiful bedroom with sea view. The whole hotel was spotless and the breakfast was amazing. Service was fantastic. Such a shame we only stayed for one night.
nothing everything was perfect.
Location of hotel. Staff very nice. Room lovely and large, had a twin and beds very comfortable. Breakfast very good. Thank you
If I had to say anything , its the carpets are a bit old fashion, but that is it.
Fantastic location with friendly and helpful owners and staff, and a great choice for a very good breakfast. We'll definitely be returning!
The hotel was clean, welcoming and had a homely atmosphere. The entire staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Breakfast, staff, price, location
This is a small and friendly hotel in a perfect location. We had a very comfortable room with a beautiful view. The staff were excellent and the food was very good.
The location was great with views over the sea, and a lovely garden to sit in for a cream tea (recommended) or an evening drink. Breakfast was amazing with a choice of cooked and cold food. Rooms were very clean and fresh, tea making facilities and a newspaper free every day. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
There was nothing to dislike, even the weather was sunny !!!!
The staff were friendly it was like home from home for us, very comfortable ,and would book again.
Breakfast was excellent.
No coffee/tea making facilities in bedroom
Friendly staff, good choice of breakfast, Welcome tray in room, view of bay, and available parking.
There wasn't anything to dislike but as far as room facilities are concerned we found the toilet flush un-responsive at times, and shower on off button didn't work properly, also the shower tray filled with water whilst showering so I guess it needs un-blocking.
