Score from 1425 reviews Very good
Location, comfortable room, clean, good staff. Would really recommend the place.
Wifi connection is a bit unstable, not sure if it was because of my room being on the second floor. Otherwise, fantastic.
Excellent breakfast. Central for visiting offspring in University.
Very nice, cozy and clean hotel, warm and welcome service by the staff. a good value for money.
Friendly staff. Easy car parking.Choice of healthy breakfast.
Their hospitality so warm , Really everything spot on.
Nothing at all.
Friendly and efficient service. Comfortable room. Excellent location. Very good breakfast
Adequate parking space
Nothing to dislike.
Lovely superior room, friendly staff, great location and off road parking. Would stay again
great breakfast and the room was good
top staircase is a little disconcerting but fine when we got used to the slight lean.
We've stayed in the Clifton many times before. The location is excellent and the staff so friendly. Lovely breakfast too.
As we only stayed for one night this time we took a standard double room, which is a bit cramped with two people. What we miss particularly is a little shelf in the bathroom for our necessaire
A pleasant, quiet area, not too far to walk to the city centre or Clifton. Near bus routes 8 & 9 (which serve Temple Meads station via city centre). Very clean room, good size for a single, modern shower fittings, good tv, bedroom well heated and lit. Wi-fi good.Very good breakfast, served by friendly staff. Great value for a city hotel.
Nothing to criticize.
The hotel is really nice, and at a very nice Bristol area. If you are on vacation, I think it is the place to relax. The staff is polite, the breakfast room very cosy.
Not suitable for business travel. Check-in until 9+pm, checkout from 7:30 am on. Not easy to get there from the the city centre.
Excellent location and friendly staff.
Paint work was worn in places, dirty marks on wall above bed, rusting table in the toilet with signs of damp.
It was clean, well-appointed and easy to find with free parking and a friendly welcome.
The bed was too small for a deluxe double room and too low for those of us with back problems! The breakfast was variable: it was mostly good but there was an issue with the bacon in the Full English. This was so overcooked and dry that my wife found it inedible.
Owner of the BB- Extremely rude, unwelcoming and patronizing!
The staff at Clifton House made us very welcome and have expansive rooms. The breakfast was great with gluten free alternatives. It is well located for the city centre, Clifton and the university which was perfect for us.
Our only criticism would be some of the attention to detail in the cleaning but for an old building this is expected.
Nice position, close to the University area. Nice hotel, clean even if i didnt like the carpet on the floor. 2 floors, no elevator, very steep stairs. Good breakfast, freshly coocked.
Small bed, pretty hard.
At each point of contact the staff were polite, friendly and professionally efficient. I favour the independent as opposed to the stark clinical austerity of a chain. A 'treat' to stay in a lovely building.
Single room was fine but slightly too small for more than a very quick stopover. On this occasion it suited my purpose and the booking was last minute. However, on a return visit I would not stay in room 7, first floor front. I would favour a top floor re room which would be quiter.
Staff and breakfast
Cramped bathroom. Flies in lampshade above the bed.
Bathroom Everything was clean Breakfast nice and varied
Excellent fresh breakfast cooked to order. Convenient location. Friendly staff and onsite parking.
Bedroom 14 - slept in a single bed pushed up against a mouldy and drafty big georgian window on a very cold night! Know it was cheaper than the big rooms - but would not choose to sleep in it again.
Very welcoming staff. Lovely rooms and great breakfast. Was visiting my daughter at bristol uni and this was a perfect place to stay.
I understand there was a bad review stating hotel not warm enough - just ask the lovely staff and they would have sorted it out for you
