Located above Lancaster's best known tapas bar, Latinos, this charming hotel provides comfortable, modern rooms with private bathrooms, with a superb view of the historic surroundings.
Score from 93 reviews Good
The friendliness, the location, the cleanliness and an excellent breakfast.
That we had only booked for one night!! We would have liked to have stayed longer, we will next time.
The friendliness of the staff at breakfast.
The first impression on entering was of a dark, dingy corridor leading to an Edwardian type reception desk. The plastic table cloths. The small double bedroom. The weather!
The hotel and its interior is really worn out, and desparately needs renovation! in our room, the bathroom was separated only with a sliding door, that didn't close properly...
We stayed 1 night in September, when we tried to book in for dinner we were told that the restaurant wasn't open and to go to another hotel down the road. I asked if we could get a drink and was told the bar didn't open till 7pm. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. We would not stay again
Nice comfortable place, good breakfast, welcoming staff.
Stairs a bit narrow and difficult - but there was a lift normally available..
Having to order breakfast night before which was okay as only wanted boiled eggs but waitress was appalled when I asked for them at breakfast and said I jad to pre order when I explained I had she came back two minutes later with eggs that had obviously been cooked an hour previously. Saying that for the price what do you expect
Excellent location; right on the seafront with fantastic views across Morecambe Bay. However, the best thing was the amazingly accommodating staff. We asked if we could check in nearly two hours early as we had to get back to Lancaster for a wedding in heavy traffic, and they checked to see if the room was ready and let us in. They also offered vegetarian breakfasts, and made it clear they were willing to give us practically anything we needed. Definitely recommended.
A bit noisy at night when we opened the window - and too stuffy when we closed it. Mind you, it was a Saturday night. Wi-Fi in room a bit iffy. Bathroom very small, though acceptable for one night. Only one bedside table and light for a double bed. Small points though, overall we were very satisfied.
staff surly. Breakfast very poor.Parking very tight .
would go again
the lift is very smalll
We were shown by the owner to our room and helped with the luggage.
we are not big people but found the shower en suite quite small , but adequate.
the hotel was comfortable but almost empty, no fault of the proprietors since it seems to be a hotel whose heyday has past
The West End of Morecambe is derelict one street back from the prom which is not inviting to visitors
Location next to promenade. Sea views at your doorstep. Staff are helpful and always at hand to assist.
Room decor too old. Steps narrow and steep, not easy to carry luggage to upstairs rooms. Saniflow drainage can be funny and noisy. Did not like the beddings.
Cleanliness and quiet and breakfast and price
Can't think of anything
Staff so friendly. Room overlooking sea. Sunsets and views brill! So quiet.
No brown toast!!
Breakfast was excellent Clifton is value for money
Was all good
a refreshing change with a good clean place nice owners helpful will visit again is ideal for those going to capernwray to use the dive centre
all good no complaints
breakfast was second to none, we would certainly stay there again and would recommend to anyone.
none that we can think of.
We were made to feel welcome. The hotel is bigger than it looks with a bar and disco area, pool table etc in the basement. Breakfast was very good and hot even with over 20 seated at once!
The rooms are dated so could do with a bit of TLC but towels etc very good.
Good sea view , lovely breakfast service was very swift.
very noisy neighbors, breakfast time on a weekend could be a little longer when very busy to enable staff to clear tables for next residents.
Friendly ..great location and staff efficient
Nothing to report
Paul & Lydia are a lovely couple, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back again ☺
Well placed on the front and friendly staff.
The bed was really lumpy and uncomfortable. Terrible nights sleep.
It was good but packing wasn't good you have to park on the road not near the hotel when it was hard for me to carry my bag. They adviters that they have a parking place on internet that's wrong.
Not having parking place near hotel..
Staff were very helpful with my late arrival.
we managed to park at the front near the hotel
breakfast just warm egg like rubber no milk on the table for tea no spoons on the table for cereal had to go for our own lift very small bed I could feel evey spring on my back even though they had put I extra blanket under the fitted sheet no comfortable at all
