I liked the quirky room (single). I could use the bar downstairs for a meal, and didn't feel conspicuous as a sole female in the bar. Good tea and coffee facilities in room and hair dryer.
Old eiderdown on bed - immeditely makes it more shabby than chic. Just get rid of them! White sheets work every time. Window frame needed a good clean.
I have paid 50£ to sleep in a horrid attic. The furniture was old and in poor condition. The roof was broken, so the rain poured inside (in the toilet and just upon for my uncomfortable bed) for the entire night. No free wifi. I asked if they could borrow me a uk converter to recharge my phone. They kindly gave me one. Broken. The day after, when I complained, they made me a 5% reduction (how generous). Well... I guess this is enough.
Good location, very secure parking. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
The twin beds in room 24 were ridiculously narrow, the shower tray was damaged and the paint was peeling off the cupboard doors under the wash hand basin. Breakfast service slow.
It was in an ok location for were I needed to be for the course I was on. The staff were friendly.
Room tiny, grubby old fashioned with curtains hanging off the rail which was fixed after asking twice. The bed had sheets, blankets and a dated bed spread, so I went out and bought a duvet and cover and the second two nights were much more comfortable. The parking was limited and expensive and the cost of wifi was also so expensive I didn't bother.
the staffs are very friendly.
Very poor room insulation, I can clearly hear the person in the next room talking and snoring.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Location wonderful. Excellent area and lots of transport available to get around.
rooms at the hotel side that overlook the beer garden should be avoided. Very noisy. Also bin lorries use the road that also runs along here. Not compatible with an undisturbed nights sleep.
Very small, shabby rooms. Public areas seem not to have been decorated since the 1950s.
Very pleasant staff, clean room, close to University so good for visiting student son.
Noise of refilling toilet and other mechanic rumbles from above later while trying to sleep.
breakfast quality and friendlyness of staff
noisy, even at night - street and intern no bath supplements like soap etc(just shampoo) very small old furniture ( damaged chair)
Open for late check in Fruit and fresh coffee in the room
Charge for WIFI Hotel not clearly signposted or lit so had to phone to find it & I was outside!
Shouting and yelling from groups of people up to 4.30am out in the streets.
Great bathroom! The bed and pillows were comfortable!
Sorry to say although I updated my room - it was noisy because of the bins and the restaurant, which also meant the room had a odour of cooked food and I have to say so did my clothes when I left! It was all very tired!
The quirky cafe with delicious food, at good value for money. The location and proximity to Clifton Village. Walking distance to all the cafes and bars of Clifton, the Triange and Whiteladies.
The bathroom was very small but perfectly functional.
I liked the location in a very pleasant area if Bristol,15 minutes easy walk to the city centre. In my room, tea and coffee making facilities and fresh fruit were a nice surprise.
Nothing major to dislike. The stairway could do with a re-painting perhaps.
Room 16 was dirty dirt on door frame and wall at the side of the bed with holes in the wall moved to room 32 which was better although the previous occupants hair was still on the tiles in the shower no hot water from arrival at 6:30pm after changing rooms, was offered to shower in room 16 and sleep in room 32 floor above. Naturally I declined no hot water until 7am the following morning would not recommend.
Receptionist made the stay excellent local knowledge very usefull
Position in Bristol and helpful staff. Very handy to be able to park the car in a garage too. Good coffee/tea facilities too.
Noisy bar below so took a long time to go to sleep, very shabby bathroom that smelt so strongly of chlorine/bleach? that we had to shut the door and leave the extractor fan on all night!
Staff helpful Ideal for where wde wanted to visit.
Restaurant noisy No remote control for TV which was therefore difficult to operate.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Really excellent continental breakfast. Secure car parking available at modest cost. Good room facilities with fruit, coffee and biscuits.
Mixer taps in sink and bath/shower would save water and energy. Shower operation description was incorrect. Noisy guests at 3 am!
Bathroom needed an update.
Good value and very handy for the city
Was close to my business meeting
Very dated had candlewick bedspread can't imagine how old that was! Very expensive for the quality of the hotel.
The staff were friendly, the room very clean and tidy, fresh fruit every day in the room, the location is just brilliant, not having been to Bristol before we were not sure that the location was right but 15 mins walk into the heart of Bristol. The Racks bar and restaurant very popular and good value. Will stay again.
the staff, brilliant. value for money
hotel very tired looking, in need of makeover
Staff were friendly and helpful, situated in pleasant area
Room slightly cramped but more than adequate
